Chapter 0:
Start:New Game
The sun had just begun to rise above the rooftops of the small town of Rosenfeld.
The streets were almost empty.
Only one boy was running down the sidewalk with a football tucked under his arm.
His name was Leon Weber.
He was fifteen years old.
And he had one dream.
To become a professional football player.
Every morning followed the same routine.
Running.
School.
Training.
And then more training.
Most of his friends thought that kind of schedule was crazy.
But Leon never complained.
He knew that thousands of teenagers across Germany dreamed of the same thing.
That was why he had to work harder than everyone else.
On his way to school, he stopped in front of a small stadium.
The crest of Bavaria 1935 hung proudly above the entrance.
This was where his journey had begun.
Leon looked at the pitch.
Once, he had dreamed of simply making the team.
Now, he wanted much more.
“One day, I'll become a professional,” he quietly said.
After school, training began.
Coach Kramer immediately divided the players into two teams.
“Today we're playing a match,” he announced.
“Let's see who really wants to win.”
The whistle blew.
The game began.
Leon sprinted forward immediately.
He received a pass from his best friend, Max, and dribbled past one defender.
Then another.
Shot!
The ball flew into the corner of the net.
“Goal!” someone shouted.
Leon smiled.
But his happiness didn't last long.
Later in the match, a larger defender pushed him off the ball with ease.
Once.
Twice.
Three times.
Every time Leon lost the physical battle.
After training, Coach Kramer called him over.
“Do you know why you weren't the best player today?”
“Because I lost the ball?”
“Not only that.”
Kramer looked directly into his eyes.
“You have talent.”
Leon smiled slightly.
But the coach continued.
“And you have too much confidence.”
The smile disappeared.
“Talent alone isn't enough for professional football.”
Those words hit Leon harder than any tackle.
When training ended, he didn't go home.
Instead, he stayed on the field.
Again and again, he practiced his shots.
Until the sun began to set.
As he finally packed up his things, an unfamiliar car pulled up outside the stadium.
On its door was the emblem of the Bavarian Football Association.
A man carrying a folder stepped out.
He looked at the stadium.
Then at Leon.
And smiled.
Leon felt that something important was happening.
But he had no idea that this day would become the first step toward his dream.
