Chapter 52:
Final Chapter: POST FUTURE SAGA
"BOOM"
The arena floor violently erupted in a deafening explosion of shattered stone and billowing dust as Raka’s fist smashed a massive crater right behind Leon. The impact shockwave rattled the stands. Sweat poured down the wolf’s matted fur under the scorching arena lights, his cold blue eyes glowing with raw, murderous fury. Leon turned slowly, that infuriating smirk cutting through the chaos as the crowd’s roar shook the coliseum.
"Come on pup that's your third miss." Leon crouched low and clapped his hands. "Come on pup, try harder I know you can do it this time around."
Raka’s muscles surged with kantar. The air screamed as he rocketed forward at near sound-barrier speed, claws outstretched like deadly spears aimed at Leon’s torso. At the final split-second, Leon twisted aside with effortless grace.
"Whoops." A savage kick from behind slammed Raka face-first into the dirt, skidding him across the rough ground. Leon shrugged casually. "My bad pup, it's just you're being so predictable I was tempted to kick you."
The massive coliseum detonated with thunderous cheers. Thousands of voices screamed in delight, feet stomping so hard the stands vibrated as Leon turned and blew mocking kisses to the frenzied fans. The air was thick with sweat, blood, and electric excitement.
Raka gnashed his fangs, voice a guttural snarl. "Arrogant little shit." He charged again, faster and more vicious, his claws ripping straight through Leon’s torso with a wet crunch. "Got you now arrogant bastard."
Triumph flashed across Raka’s face — until the body dissolved into shimmering kantar mist. A sharp whistle pierced the noise from high above. Leon lounged atop one of the four towering stone pillars, legs crossed, chin in palm, looking utterly bored. "Wow you're violent, you gave me goose bumps."
He dropped down lightly. Raka’s rage exploded. He blurred across the arena in a burst of power, grabbing Leon’s ankle and slamming him into the ground with bone-jarring force. A relentless barrage of punches and savage scratches followed before he hurled Leon toward the far wall and drove his claws deep into him.
Leon coughed up hot blood. "Wow, okay....maybe I deserved that." His smirk returned. "But you need to observe your environment more closely little pup."
Hundreds of tiny red dots flared to life across the battlefield. They erupted into a deadly web of crimson laser beams that tore through Raka’s body from every angle. Pain exploded through him as blood sprayed in wide arcs. His agonized roar echoed off the arena walls like thunder.
The crowd gasped sharply, then burst into wild, bloodthirsty applause.
Leon calmly yanked the claws from his torso, wounds sealing with glowing kantar energy. "From the beginning of the fight I was already leaving bits of my kantar all over the arena and when my kantar double turned back into kantar it didn't go back into my body I dispersed it round the arena too." He snapped his fingers, vanishing the lasers. "Something you could have easily noticed actually if you weren't so focused on landing a hit."
Raka snarled in frustration. Leon’s smirk widened. "Alright now pup try again, I'm sure you can do better this time."
Raka roared. "Screw you." He shattered the ground with powered fists and sent thousands of rubble pieces flying like bullets. Leon cloaked himself in kantar and stood firm — every shard bounced off or slammed into the floor behind him with explosive force, kicking up clouds of dust.
Before the dust settled, Raka struck from the side, slamming Leon’s head into the ground — only for it to dissolve. The real Leon appeared behind him, cold metal pressed against his skull. "Check mate."
The commentator’s voice boomed over the roaring crowd. "This match has been such a thrill, the great demon of tyranny has certainly been living up to his name, he's spent quite a good amount of this time playing with the rookie Raka."
Raka grinned fiercely. "You're not the only one with tricks, to survive in the underground a wolf has to adapt to its opponent too."
He melted into kantar. Leon chuckled softly. "Neat, I didn't see that coming at all."
The battle became a whirlwind of brutal exchanges. Raka swept Leon’s legs, chased him into the air, and hammered him across the arena. Leon healed mid-flight. "Nice one pup, see I told you if you kept on going at it you'll be able to land a solid hit."
Raka growled. "Shut up already."
Leon vanished and reappeared behind him instantly. "Well, if that's what you really wish I guess I can end this fast."
Raka’s instincts took over. He hurled Leon overhead, took a dagger to the shoulder without flinching, and kept pressing. "This guy is genuinely dangerous, I hate to admit it but he's good, really good," he muttered, ripping the blade free and tossing it aside.
Dropping to all fours, breath visible as cold mist, Raka reinforced his limbs and became a lethal blur. His uppercut launched Leon skyward, followed by an ice pillar that impaled him with a sickening crunch. Leon carved through it with a summoned great sword, batted the shard back at sonic speed, and unleashed two crossing kantar arcs. He closed the distance in a flash, gauntlets and boots formed, and unleashed a devastating aerial combo that sent Raka hurtling.
Before impact, Leon impaled him with a spear, ripped it free, and opened fire with pistols. Raka crashed down in a bloody, perforated heap but healed almost instantly, leaping back up panting heavily. Leon leaned casually on his great sword. "Nice healing abilities pup, even I can't heal that fast."
Raka froze the entire arena floor and charged across the slick ice, yanking Leon in by his coat with an ice dagger raised high. They crashed into a ferocious close-quarters brawl — Leon skating with graceful precision while Raka fought with wild, chaotic fury. Leon finally leaped back. "Alright i think I'm done with skating practice."
He flooded the ground with superheated kantar, melting every trace of ice in a surging wave of steam. Then he thrust his great sword forward. Raka blocked with crossed arms, snapped the blade with raw strength, and delivered a brutal bicycle kick that cracked Leon’s jaw with an audible snap.
Raka spat out the sword fragment, his arms healing rapidly as he gasped for air. Leon touched his jaw gingerly. "Ouch, that really hurt." He studied Raka’s labored breathing. "Looks like little pup is reaching his limit."
Raka unleashed a bone-rattling roar that froze Leon where he stood. He charged and drove his fist straight through Leon’s chest, hot blood gushing over his arm. For one shining moment, Raka stood victorious, exhausted smile on his face.
"Nice job pup....but....you forgot one thing."
A kantar clone rammed a great sword through Raka’s back and out through Leon. Leon pulled both weapons free, healing smoothly. "A good fighter werewolf or not ought to try and gauge how much kantar their opponent has left based on little things, how much their panting how heavily they are sweating. Little things like that gives big clues." He looked down. "Sleep well little pup, it was a bash."
Raka gritted his teeth as the world faded. "Dammit, I got too cocky, mark my words demon of tyranny I will fight you again one day and when that day comes I'll win."
Darkness took him.
The entire coliseum fell into stunned, breathless silence. The metallic smell of blood hung heavy in the air. Then the commentator’s voice rang out, filled with awe.
"Can you believe what you just saw folks cause I believe I speak for everyone when I say this might be the most intense match we'll see through our this tournament and we're only in the second round."
He strode into the ruined arena as the crowd finally erupted into a deafening, ground-shaking roar that vibrated through every seat.
"Ladies and gentlemen the winner of the second round of Khali's tournament is LEON!!!"
The cheers became a tidal wave of sound, lights flashing wildly across the blood-soaked battlefield as the Demon of Tyranny stood tall in the center, the frenzied crowd chanting his name like an unstoppable storm.
