Chapter 1:
NORMAL
Heart's Hospital 2:29 am- June 20
The first person to die didn’t stay dead.
The ICU nurse made her usual rounds as normal: checking the blood pressure levels, the oxygen levels, and if they were in any distress. Echoing sounds of the monitors beeping and oxygen masks delivering more oxygen to the patient, drove the eerie silence away in the ICU. The nurse had braids twisted in a bun light brown strands mixed in with her normal hair, she had tired brown eyes, and glowing coffee skin.
The nurse stopped at the last patient, looking at the clipboard rather than the monitors. The monitors stayed flatlined, and she wrote down the time of death- 2:31 am.
The nurse began to turn around, but then she caught a sudden finger twitch from the dead body. She frowned and steps closer to the body, the frown creasing her tired face. She takes a deep breath and blames her sleep-deprived mind.
The nurse steps closer to the body for a closer look, but then the patient next door’s monitors suddenly flatline. She quickly runs to the room, her heart beating faster than normal. She stops in front of the door, her hand gripping the doorknob tightly but she her eyes wide with panic as she looks at the once dead patient through the small glass window.
At the normal-looking patient who is standing in front of the door, smiling at her.
Little Vincent restaurant 3:30 pm- June 20
The Italian restaurant was busy with customers: servers running around with people’s dishes, the cooks quickly making dishes even when their arms complained, and the loud chatter of the customers made the restaurant lively.
There was a young man who stood out of the ordinary for his looks. He had wide, bright gold eyes, beautiful jet black hair past his shoulder mixed with streaks of silver strands, and he was six feet tall with an elegant face. The type of a face that only appeared in magazines and was paid millions for it. The waitress stopped at his table and blushed a deep red once she saw him.
“What can I get you, sir?” The waitress asked softly, looking at him through her lashes.
“Can I get some of those worms, please?” The young man answered, an innocent look in his beautiful eyes.
The waitress blinked at him, “Sorry?”
“Those worms. That everyone’s eating. I would like those.”
“Do you mean the spaghetti, sir?”
The young man nodded, “Yes. I would like that.” The waitress smiled at him then left him. A little girl approached him. The young man smiled at the little girl and smiled back happily at him.
“What’s your name, little one?” The young man asked, crouching down to get on her level.
“ My name is Andy. I’m six years old!” The girl showed up six fingers to emphasize her age.
“Nice to meet you, princess. You can call me Ayaru. And my age is a secret,” he said, winking at the girl who giggled in return.
“Mr. Ayaru, you’re not from here, right?” Andy asked, seeing things that only children's pure hearts can see.
“You caught me. I’m from somewhere really far. Tell me, little one, do you know of any apartments close by?”
Andy nods, “There’s one over the street. And they have a room available. I have seen it in the ads.”
Ayaru smiles, “thank you little one.” Then he ruffles her hair making her giggle then she runs away. Ayaru gets up from his seat and leaves the restaurant without having his food. He steps outside and smiles at the sun. Feeling at peace with the laughter of kids and family around him.
Celestial Realm 3:51pm- June 20
Somewhere far away where the sun lights up all of the room, the birds fly through the sky carefree of the world, and everyone lives happily with one another.
A tall tower that was surrounded by clouds and many windows stayed waiting for something. A women in the top room of the tower watched the earth with her sharp beautiful eyes. She had fiery orange eyes, and long straight blue hair as beautiful as the sky which was locked in a intricate bun with golden jewelry and jade jewels. She wore a dress the colors of the melting sky during the sunset.
Her eyes stayed on the land below watching something or someone. The door to her room opened and a women with white feathered wings and a golden halo hovering over her head came inside.
“Goddess Nefeli, I have news,” the Angel said bowing her head to the Goddess but the Goddess hadn't so much as turned to acknowledge her.
“Report,” the Nefeli demanded her attention still on the land.
“It has began,” the Angel told her. The Goddess's head snapped towards the Angel her eyes wide with panic for the first time. Then she turned her head towards the window glaring at the land.
“He did this as revenge.” The angel didn't reply instead she kept her head bowed and stared at the floor.
Nefeli repeated to herself once more, “He did this.” She clenched her hand tightly as the Angel trembled from fear.
