Chapter 1:

The Beautiful Gunslinger

Six-Shot Wild West

"And you're telling me you're this gunslinger?" The law enforcer of Three-Hill Town wasn't impressed.
"That's correct. I'm the one and only beautiful gunslinger!" Said the young girl.
The law enforcer did not look impressed. The girl in front of him did not match the description in the legend shared through the wild west.
The gunslinger is described as a feminine beauty with no equal. The girl in front of him was anything but. She was short, no taller than four and a half foot, maybe shorter. She sported blond hair tied into twintails. Her getup was even stranger. She wore denim shorts, that were most likely jeans in the past, and a top that can only be described as swimming attire. Her expression can only be characterized as bratty, very unlike the mature lady of the legend. Sure she had a holster equipped for her six-shot revolver, but that is not an uncommon weapon.
"At least your weapon looks legit." The law enforcer inspected the girl's revolver. "How do you reload the gun?"
She girl cocked her head. "Reload? It's a magical gun. Every morning at sunrise I get six bullets."
"Right, you just walk around the wild west with an artifact. I'll call your bluff." He then tried to shoot an empty bottle of whisky, but no matter how hard he squeezed the trigger, no bullet was fired. "I think you need to get your artifact to a gunsmith. The trigger is jammed."
The girl slammed her hands on the table in surprise. "It's not jammed, you're just weak!"
That remark rubbed the law enforcer in the wrong way.
"You said your name was...?"
"YeeYee! My name is YeeYee. And yours? If you get a name from someone, it's only fair to offer your own in return." She looked very proud of this.
The law enforcer rolled his eyes. "It's Cooper. Cooper of Three-Hill Town."
"Nice to meet you Cooper. Now can I get my gun back?"
Jammed or not, this girl should not be walking around with a firearm - Cooper thought.
"How about this. You wait in here for a moment while I do some asking around. Once I know enough, I'll let you go. Sounds right?"
"Cooper, I know that's a jail for bad people."
There's something painful about watching a young girl look at you with pity.
"I don't have anywhere else to put you in for the moment. It will be alright." That was a blatant lie.
"Sure!" YeeYee entered jail. She hopped on the bed and started to swing her little feet in anticipation.
Cooper closed the door. It made a very nice clank sound. He then proceeded to leave the building, leaving YeeYee with his assistant Sly.

YeeYee could tell an hour has gone by already. The shadow of the bars has shifted, indicating the lengthy passage of time.
"Say, Sly, when is Cooper coming back?"
"Hmm?" Sly looked up from his cards. "Probably once he found a family for you to move in. We don't have an orphanage here."
"I'm not an orphan! I'm a drifter!" She got up and walked to the bars and grabbed them.
"Easy there, kiddo. Those are magically enchanted bars. We don't want any of them bad guys casting a spell and making our lives miserable here."
YeeYee let go of the bars. "You're lucky I like you. Otherwise I would have blown this jail to the next town over."
Sly wasn't impressed by her threats. "Whatever shall I do?" And he returned to his game of cards.
A little later Cooper returned.
"So the kid's mother, the one who you punched a black eye, is pressing charges. Considering you're a minor I should let you off the hook. But that's not how she sees it. She wants compensation."
"It's his fault for grabbing my gun without asking."
"I don't think that warrants full-blown assault. And neither does the kid's mother." He walked over to YeeYee's gun, who was still on his desk. "Since you don't have a coin to your name, we were thinking of selling this."
"Don't you dare sell it to some stranger. He's not for sale!"
"Sorry, kiddo, but the law's the law." He put the gun down again and walked over to YeeYee. "Whatever coin is left is yours. See it as your allowance. I actually found a carriage that will take you to the orphanage in the next town over. It's about a three day travel by horse."
YeeYee threw herself at the bars. The magic channeling in her hands caused the bars to burn her hands in return. The sizzling noise accompanied by the burning pain threw YeeYee on the ground. With her arms and legs flailing around she now looked more the part of her age.
"Damn brat is throwing a temper tantrum in jail. Now I can retire knowing I've seen everything." Cooper lit up a cigarette and took a deep puff. All in a day's work for a law enforcer - he thought.
YeeYee calmed herself and got up. She and Cooper looked each other in the eyes again, with her eyes still wet from the tears she just shed.
"So your gun is jammed, you can't reload it, what else do I need to know? I need it to be worth something if you want to pay off your fine."
"Its shots never miss." YeeYee said this while glaring at Cooper.
"Just like in the legend. I'm impressed." He wasn't. It all started to look like a bratty kid with a toy ran away from home.
Cooper actually started to feel sorry for YeeYee. To him she was a delusional girl who, very likely, ran away from a broken household.
"Don't worry, everything is going to be alright now. We're here for you."
YeeYee did not answer back. Instead she silently went to the jail's bed and sulked. She did not want to escalate the situation any further. Thus she decided to wait and see how things go.
