Chapter 54:

SHU VS THE DEMON ALPHA

Final Chapter: POST FUTURE SAGA

Shu walked down toward the arena, an almost serious look on his face. "The guy’s kantar… so that’s how the kantar of an alpha feels. Truly menacing. It gave me the chills."

He stepped into the brightly lit arena as the announcer’s booming voice rang out. “Ladies and gentlemen!” the man shouted with a huge, excited grin, turning toward the roaring crowd. “This round of the tournament features a very special guest—the son of Khali himself! Give it up for Shu!”

The stadium erupted. Thousands of voices united in a thunderous chant: “Shu! Shu! Shu! Shu!”

Shu waved with a slightly nervous smile, thinking to himself, "Boy, they sure are chanting wildly for a guy they barely even know."

The spotlight swung back to the commentator. “Now, ladies and gentlemen, put your hands together for his opponent! He is the Alpha of the Mozac district… RAADON!!!”

The crowd lost it. Cheers exploded into a deafening roar as Radon made his entrance. He walked with absolute dominance, each powerful step pressing his enormous kantar down on the arena like an invisible weight. His glowing red eyes swept across the stands, calm and predatory. The air itself seemed heavier in his presence.

He finally stopped in front of Shu, looking down at him with a dark, amused grin—like a predator toying with its prey. “Make this fun for me, kid.”

Shu didn’t respond. Instead, he channeled kantar to his eyes, carefully reading the flow of Radon’s energy. He instantly noticed Radon gathering power into his left hand. The moment Radon swung, Shu dodged and reinforced his arm with kantar, launching a sharp counter. But to his shock, the strike missed.

Shu stared at him in disbelief. It was supposed to be perfect. I wasn’t slow… It was almost like he saw it coming.

Radon smirked at the expression on Shu’s face. “Don’t look so surprised. You’re not the only one who can predict movement.” Without warning, he unleashed a devastating roundhouse kick.

Shu barely blocked it with his arm. The force was monstrous, shoving him back several feet. Radon pressed the advantage immediately—three lightning-fast punches followed by another brutal roundhouse kick that connected cleanly. The impact launched Shu across the arena. He slammed into the far wall with a sickening thud, coughing up blood before collapsing to the ground.

The crowd gasped, then burst into a frenzy of shouts and cheers.

“OH MY GOD!” the commentator yelled. “Radon is not playing around! That was pure alpha dominance!”

Shu caught himself with his hands, his wrist throbbing from the block. "Okay… he’s way stronger than the Ox King." He pushed himself up, stretching his arm out. Golden dust swirled around his palm, rapidly forming his legendary staff. He wiped the blood from his mouth and dropped into a battle stance as he thought to himself "He might be around Dracula’s level… but he definitely hits harder."

Seeing the staff, Radon smirked again. “Oh? Is that the famous Staff of Legend? I’m intrigued. Show me what it can do.”

He lunged forward at blinding speed, claws extended. Shu stayed calm, keeping his kantar flowing to his eyes. Fist of the Lion King: Power increase—threefold!

His kantar spiked violently. Veins bulged across his muscles as he dodged perfectly and slammed the staff into the back of Radon’s neck with devastating force, knocking him off balance. Before Radon could recover, Shu increased the staff’s weight to that of an entire building and brought it crashing down on Radon’s back, driving him into the ground with a thunderous boom.

The arena shook. The crowd exploded.

“WHAT A COUNTER!” the commentator screamed. “Shu just turned the tables! Did you see that power?!”

Shu relaxed his muscles, returning the staff to normal weight as he stared down at Radon. I strongly doubt that left a mark… but at least now I know a threefold speed boost can counter his prediction ability.

Then Radon laughed—a deep, booming sound that echoed through the stadium. He sprang back to his feet, bones audibly snapping back into place. “I gotta admit… I underestimated you.” He casually popped his shoulder back in with a fiendish grin. “A mistake I won’t make again.”

His eyes glowed an even more menacing red as his kantar surged. He moved so fast Shu’s eyes could barely track him.

Shu instinctively activated the Fist of the Lion King again, pushing the power increase to eightfold just to keep up.

The crowd went absolutely wild.

“THEY’RE MOVING TOO FAST!” the commentator roared over the frenzy. “All we can see are flashes of kantar and explosions of debris! This is beyond even the strongest Betas! The arena is getting torn apart!”

The blindingly fast exchanges continued until—CRASH! A body slammed into the wall at sonic speed, leaving a massive crater and a trail of blood. It was Shu. He slumped to the ground.

Radon stood at the center of the arena, breathing heavily, his body covered in wounds that were already healing. His glowing eyes stayed locked on Shu’s fallen form.

In the viewing room, Hannah watched with interest. “To be able to beat up Shu like that… he’s a strong one.”

Jax smiled. “He’s an interesting one. Radon’s only been Alpha for a few weeks. Every pack adapted differently before I united them. Some abandoned their raw werewolf nature for advanced kantar techniques. Others blended both. But the Mozac pack… they stayed true to what a werewolf truly is—vicious, instinct-driven, and overwhelmingly powerful.”

He paused, then continued. “Radon challenged his previous Alpha two weeks ago. That Alpha had absorbed the powers of an entire pack of Alphas… and he still barely stood a chance. Radon is a monster.”

Hannah smirked, tossing a piece of popcorn into her mouth. “Won’t be the first monster my boy has faced.” She grinned. “Can’t wait to see your face when Shu mops the floor with him.”

Jax chuckled softly. “Let’s watch, shall we?”

Back in the arena, Radon finally moved in for the finishing blow. As his fist hurtled toward Shu’s face, Shu’s eyes snapped open. A massive surge of kantar erupted from his body, blasting Radon backward across the stadium.

Radon stared in shock as Shu rose to his feet. Every wound healed in an instant. His eyes glowed bright red, his hair stood on end, and an echo-layered voice rolled out as he summoned his staff back into his hands as he says.

“I won’t go down that easy.”
