Chapter 0:
Tales of Ol' Thyme
The Abyss has a special place. In this place the bravest of Men would find ores. The Dwarven Gods themselves took it upon them to smelt these ores into steel. Their acolytes, armed with hammers enchanted by the Elves, would hammer the steel into shape. It would be quenched by trapping it in the permafrost of the Heavens. And once it was finished, a lightning bolt would free the sword.
And thus the weapon of the Gods was made. It is steel created to fight against their mortal enemies: the Dragons.
The united body of Men, Elves and Dwarves chose their one champion to fight against these monsters. But when the conflict arose and their hero was needed, he failed.
The mortal realm continued to live in fear of the dragons. Then it became legend. And legend eventually turned into myth.
Some of the myths tell of a victory, others of dread. And the sword? Dragonslayer was silently passed down from father to son. Always awaiting to fulfill its purpose.
Such is the story that is told back then. An improbable sword created through improbable means.
