“Th-Then I’ll train, meow!”

As Tanimaki spoke, he could feel something beginning to change within him.

For the first time in his life, he genuinely wanted to help a friend.

“Even so, we don’t have time to take our time with your training. One week at most,” Mayutan said. “Queen Luminous is probably governing in Demon King Kylie’s place for now, but Undo could make his move to seize control of the Republic of Meows at any moment.”

Mayutan confronted them with the harsh reality.

Since Anger would not fight alongside them, having Tanimaki master teleportation would be an enormous advantage. But there was no chance Undo would simply sit back and wait for that to happen.

Beginning that very day, Tanimaki devoted himself to training under Anger.

Apart from eating and sleeping, he spent every waking moment training.

It was not merely his fear of Undo that drove him forward.

He knew that at night, Debiru would go outside, crouch down alone, and cry while desperately stifling his sobs.

Whenever Tanimaki saw him like that, a fierce emotion unlike anything he had ever experienced before welled up inside him.

He felt as though he might be able to push beyond his limits. In the past, he would have given up long ago, yet somehow, he managed to endure the grueling training.

In the end, however, a single week was not enough for him to master teleportation.

And yet, a change no one had ever imagined was quietly beginning to take shape within Tanimaki.
