TLDR: The world was turned into no man's land by a terrorist organization called “H.E.L.L” whose motives were unclear. H.E.L.L got their hands on a large amount of explosives and turned half the world into no man’s land. This terrorist organization is seeking to do it into the second half of the earth into no man’s-land. Right now, in the land, through forceful mutation due to prolonged radiation exposure, the military members as well as scavengers and cultists that walk and call that place home have developed a healing factor. This healing factor is a sped up version of the natural human healing capabilities. Due to this development, they developed a new organ (unnamed) that allowed them to store massive amounts of calories without creating fat. Cults raised over time, worshipping the no man’s land. Some say it should happen again, others just think that no man’s land was a blessing. Others think it’s a gift to be weaponized. And others think that this is enough and there needs to only be one.

The aforementioned events took place 40 years prior to the stories ahead. On top of this, artifacts emerged, commonly called “GHOSTS” for how rare they were. The GHOSTS could bond with a host, giving them one unique supernatural ability. For example, an invisible weapon if the user prefers stealth. Or an enhanced healing factor without as much calorie consumption if the user gets hit a lot. Currently, only 3 GHOST users are public.
