MDCXLVII anno regnorum King Roberto and Queen Idra of House Leyman

I have come upon the property known as the Bethar residence. The nature of the building suggests that it has been rebuilt from the ground up. However, evidence of the original property still exists, and my engineers have made me aware that the weathering and residue is consistent with that of a large explosion, one comparable to that of immense quantities of gunpowder, however those inventions had not come to fruition then. This indicates to us that Job’s power was in fact real and destructive.

It has been revealed to us that Gorge was home to the way of the dagger, and is the southernmost province of the four. It was, at that time, the most unstable. Rife with crime of all degrees, it was impossible for the Royalty and the Nobility to subdue, as the influence of the “Order of Thieves” spread throughout the majority of the province with the exception of the immediate surroundings of House Bethar. I am uncertain whether or not this has been the de facto state of affairs for Gorge until the fall of the Old Kingdom. However, we were able to discover an abandoned mineshaft that led to a greater series of catacombs which we suspect to have been the headquarters for these wrongdoers.

I find it odd though, the Old Kingdom was known for it’s impeccable record keeping, yet from the records we have recovered from the Royal Archives there is no mention of Dio in any quantity. Actually, I cannot omit my previous statement but now that I have given it some thought, the destruction and decay of the palace should explain it. Also, considering that the leading houses of each province took care of recordkeeping it is proper to assume that those records were destroyed in the massive fight between Job and Ellane.

There has been little progress in the location of Job’s descendant, however I believe that good fortune will befall on us when we arrive at Heran, as it is stated that this was the next province Job traveled to. However it is important to state that a vast majority of his third book of records speaks heavily to spirits and the afterlife. I believe it to be purely metaphorical.

Finally, I have been told that my diagnosis is slowly eating away at me, however I have not suffered any symptoms as of late, glory be to the Almighty above. I suppose it is my destiny to find Job’s descendant.
