arrival and welcome

“Throughout all my life, i’ve been different. Im used to being alone, and no matter how much I get close to people, I cant seem to reach them, they cant reach me, they gave up, and I gave up as well.

I don’t hate solitude, it is my home, there I made art, but I always wished for adventure, to step out, to make friends, to make stuff together, but it could not be, so I used my art as messages in a bottle, cast to the sea of darkness and stars.

maybe in another time, maybe in another place, my messages will reach someone and we will connect, and the art we make together wont be for the stars alone”

one fresh morning, someone drifted ashore to an island. His hair was long and light like sea foam with transparent threads like that of a jellyfish, and his skin was pale with an alien hue of blue, the waves crashed against him, nagging him awake.

“(…where am i?, what happened to me?, did I die?, in my sleep?, just like that, all of the sudden?, to think I was a healthy guy, I really did get isekai’d)”

He took a moment to process the situation, looked around, made sure he wasn’t dreaming

“(maybe im not dead yet, maybe this is a very lucid dream, or I got transmigrated… but then why am I blue?)”

He tried to see his reflection on the water, but the light of the early morning and the movement of the water made it impossible to use as a mirror. He stared at the island and noticed that it was not deserted, structures could be seen from afar, and their architecture didn’t seem alien

“)I guess the first step would be to make contact with this place’s civilization, their structures don’t look primitive enough to be the kind of people that would kill or sacrifice a stranger, hopefully)”

He walked towards the town, taking mental note of all what the eye could see; the streets were made of a material like concrete and rock, similar but different to the actual thing, same for the buildings, it was all clearly familiar and human

“you right there!, halt at once!!”

He was jolted out of his observation by the order, shouted in a language he could understand. He turned around and saw a young lady, clearly a human, wearing human clothes resembling a uniform, short pink hair, a pair of what appeared to be cat ears, and an elongated artifact she was pointing at him with both hands, probably a weapon

Blue alien: (cat ears?!... if im not careful, she might shoot me, gotta show her im not a dangerous blue alien)

He raised his hands to signal surrender and he was tackled and restrained

Pink lady: I said halt!, now comply without resistance!

He decided to go full limp to comply, seeing how his gesture of peace was not taken that way. The girl then proceeded to drag him by the legs, trying to take him somewhere but not actually advancing much. after she got tired, he decided to move slowly to just walk with her, which she reluctantly accepted

They walked to what seemed to be a police station, she made him get in one of the cells, and closed it, then she used a device that would be the equivalent of a telephone

Pink lady: Flowers to Big Boss, I captured an outsider, come quickly, they look very dangerous!

Big Boss: huh? Are you sure they’re an outsider? Do they have their student card with them? Or…

Flowers: hey!, where’s your student card? Do you have any identifications on you?

He just shrugged

Flowers: they refuse to comply, im telling you, they’re up to no good, that blue color is definitely evil, I’ve never seen anything like it

Big Boss: you’re gonna give us a bad rep if you treat people based on the color of their skin y’know?, remember we gotta--- wait, huh? Blue?, blue what?

Flowers: his skin, its like pale and blue, I don’t know how to explain, the white of his eyes is also blue, you gotta see him

Blue alien: (huh? Are my eyes also blue?, no wonder she freaked out, I really am an alien)

Big Boss: aight hold up, I’ll be there soon

The following minutes were awkward, just waiting for the big boss to arrive while the girl kept an eye on the blue alien who just laid down to look as harmless as possible. Eventually someone arrived, and the voice the girl was talking to was there in the flesh

Big Boss: may I know what brings one of the council member subordinates to this humble station?

Mysterious lady: fufu, lets just say I had a feeling I would see something interesting here

Big Boss: the council probably has the line wiretapped and they heard something interesting, “fufu you had a feeling” my ass

Mysterious lady: that’s most probably it, but I cant confirm nor deny it, they just told me to come here

Big Boss: they’re gonna be very disappointed when you see what Flowers just blew out of proporti---oh?, they actually are blue!

Flowers: see?! Told ya boss, this is definitely dangerous!, they could be an agent of the black marines

Mysterious lady: Fascinating

The blue alien sat up to see another lady in uniform, her “animal” ears were rounder like those of a cartoon mouse, her hair was short and black, and despite the surprising situation, she seemed rather relaxed. The other lady wore an elegant dress reminiscent of a kimono from the waist up, and a skirt from the belt down, instead of ears, she had golden antlers protruding from her pale blonde hair

Big Boss: Hello, We Come In Peace, Do You Understand Me? …don’t look at me like that, I don’t know how to speak alien, this is the best I got

Mysterious lady: I guess we have to start somewhere

The alien opened his mouth, trying to understand how to use his voice, he cleared his throat, then made a faint attempt that he corrected with a clearer “yes”

Blue alien: (woah, so I can speak, this voice is different from mine, but also similar somehow…)

Big Boss: ooh!, he spoke. Ok ok, hmm, What Is Your Name?

Blue alien: …I don’t… I don’t know

Big Boss: Where Are You From?

Mysterious lady: I think you can talk to them normally, they seem to understand just fine

Blue alien: i… don’t know, sorry

Big Boss: seems like this ain’t getting us too far. Where did you find him, Flowers?

Flowers: he was walking suspiciously on the edge street, he was eyeing everything, like he was scanning for weaknesses

Mysterious lady: or perhaps they were lost. Hello, my name is Carmina, I mean no harm. Are you from this island?, or from outside?

Blue alien: no, from outside but, different, I don’t know how to explain, its complicated

Carmina: its ok, could it be that your boat drifted here?

Blue alien: I don’t know, I woke up in the beach, I didn’t see any boat nearby, I don’t know how I got here

Big Boss: its gonna be hard to send you back home then, make an effort to remember, will ya?

Carmina: I think there’s no need to rush, they probably lost their memories, it will be a matter of time until they recover them, maybe taking a tour around our island will help

Flowers: no way, are we really gonna just let it just walk around? What if something happens?

Big Boss: hey you, uhh, I’ll call you Blue, are you here to attack people or steal or do bad things?

Blue: no, I come in peace

Big Boss: good to know, but even if we just let him out, the others might arrest him and bring him back here, and we’ll have to do this over and over because he doesn’t have a student card

Carmina: then all they need is a student card

with a dramatic motion, she whipped out a scroll and started writing on it with confident strokes of an elegant quill

Carmina: this document grants you the honorary status of Student of the Autonomous University Island of Turquoise Sea, carry this and whenever you need to, show it, and you will be left alone

Big Boss: didn’t know a lower ranker had the faculties to make these, aren’t you gonna get in trouble?

Carmina: lets just say, I have a feeling its gonna be alright fufufu

Blue: thank you

Carmina: of course, it comes with strings attached. when you wish to repay your debt, come visit me at the Management District or the Marine Sciences Faculty. It was a pleasure to meet you, if you’ll excuse me, I will take my leave

Big Boss: hold it, you gave him the paper to be walking around, but since he’s not actually a student, he doesn’t have a dorm, where’s he gonna sleep?

Carmina: I trust they will find a way

Big Boss: you don’t have the rank to arrange that, do you?

Carmina… precisely. I must go now, I hope to see you soon, Blue

She walked out, still dignified, while Flowers stared in disbelief

Flowers: I cant believe she’s not even a high rank and she’s just doing whatever she wants

Big Boss: it is what it is, as for you Blue, I guess your room can be that cell, it ain’t fancy, but hey, it’s a roof over your head. Just don’t close the door cuz it doesn’t open from inside, heh.

Flowers: you gotta be joking, you’re just gonna roll with it?

Big Boss: yep, cant linger too much here, gotta get back to the drama downtown, don’t do bad things okay Blue? And if Flowers is pestering you, show her the scroll, heheh!
