Night fell, and the villa was brightly lit.

The bodies had already been cleaned up. Frank's wound had been treated and was no longer serious.

Now he sat on the sofa with bandages wrapped around his shoulder, expressionless as he looked at the leather case on the coffee table.

An hour earlier, he had quietly arranged five million dollars and forbidden the newly reassigned guards from approaching the villa.

As the head of a crime family, Frank naturally could not let people know his daughter was upstairs being used by another man while he waited downstairs with money.

But the villa grounds were quiet.

Even from outside, one could probably still hear the sounds from upstairs.

It was little more than pretending not to hear what everyone could hear.

The sounds gradually died down.

A while later, freshly showered, Damon came downstairs with the bag in hand.

Frank, who had been expressionless a moment ago, instantly put on a warm smile and welcomed him over with enthusiasm.

He looked only one sentence away from asking whether Damon had been satisfied with his daughter.

"Thank you for saving my life today. This is a small token of my gratitude."

Frank pushed the case over, his expression sincere.

Damon froze for a second, then smiled.

"Are you sure you are giving this to me, and not the other way around?"

"Of course."

Frank nodded firmly.

"You can even do this? No wonder you became a crime boss."

Damon clapped appreciatively.

"Since you are being this open-handed, I will be direct. I will not take Helena away. When I need her, I will come over myself. I am not interested in protecting you every day, and you are not qualified for that anyway. So think carefully before you bother me. Understand?"

Using the condition that Damon would keep him alive to remove rivals and expand his power was fine.

But his chances were limited, so he had better choose carefully.

That had been Frank's plan from the start. Now that Damon had said it out loud, how could he not understand?

Frank nodded repeatedly and gave his assurances.

He no longer cared who Damon was.

He did not care about sacrificing his daughter either.

His head was full of which rival he should start with and which target would bring the greatest benefit.

Frank did not care.

Damon cared even less.

After all, the only reason Damon was helping Frank was to punish Helena. Once Damon lost interest, everything Frank had gained through him would disappear.

Even a condemned prisoner got one good meal before the end.

Frank arranged a car for him.

Damon left with the bag and the case.

When Felicity Smoak heard the key in the door, she had just finished showering and came to meet him.

"The emperor's new clothes? I like this welcome outfit, but wear something next time. What if I bring someone home?"

Damon teased her.

"I had just finished showering when you came back. Besides, who would you bring home?"

Felicity explained casually, then looked curiously at the things in his hands.

"What are those?"

Damon handed them over and headed toward the bedroom.

"The bag has Laurel's costume. The case is for you."

"For me?"

Felicity opened the case, delighted and curious to see what Damon had brought her.

The moment she saw the money, she yelped and slammed it shut. Then she rushed into the bedroom like a whirlwind.

"Where did you get this much money? Did you do something illegal... something dangerous again?"

"Relax. Someone gave it to me."

Damon smiled.

"Gave it to you? Who gives someone this much money for no reason? How much is there?"

Felicity stared at him.

Damon thought for a moment.

"I guess you could say I temporarily found something to do. This is payment. I do not have much use for money. You are my girlfriend, so spend it without worrying. I am not sure how much is there. I did not ask. Count it yourself."

Hearing that it was payment for work, Felicity relaxed and started counting out of curiosity.

Five million.

Five full million dollars.

She had never seen that much money before.

Felicity wanted to ask what kind of work could pay five million dollars, but after thinking about it, she chose not to.

Her boyfriend was not an ordinary person.

Maybe it was some kind of secret mission bonus.

Felicity was not materialistic, but whose mood would not improve if her boyfriend handed her five million dollars?

Fortunately, Damon had a strong body, and Felicity had unlocked a few new pieces of knowledge.

Otherwise, something might have given him away.

Damon had assumed Felicity would take the next day off to shop for bags, clothes, shoes, or whatever else she liked.

Instead, when he asked, he discovered she had already made plans.

Felicity said excitedly, "First, we should move into a bigger, better place. Climbing stairs every day is exhausting, and the space here is too small. I found several expensive pieces of equipment that can help you and Laurel more later. We can buy two cars too. The rest stays aside in case you need money urgently."

Felicity had planned everything.

What else could Damon say?

After Felicity left for work, Damon picked up the costume prepared for Laurel and was about to go to her new place.

Just as he reached the door, someone knocked.

Did Felicity forget something?

Damon opened the door casually and saw a tall woman in a black dress and stockings.

She gave him a faint smile.

"I have had such a hard time finding you."

"Selina Kyle?"

Damon looked at Catwoman in surprise, then suddenly understood why she was here.
