The princess awoke from her slumber in her chambers. She did not know it just yet but she realized something was off.
She got out of her giant bed with her drapes woven in only the finest silk to put on her red dress, there was no real reason for this. She usually puts on something else for normal days, this dress she puts on only for special occasions such as meetings with diplomats.
Again, something was in the air, maybe Arain, divinity of unusual occurrences and randomness had something in store for her today. Maybe it is Trench, the heir of plans, today that will take over the lead?
This princess, our heroine, is an auspicious lady we will follow throughout her adventures and is the type of young woman to be very much aware of her surroundings. Not necessarily what is happening inside of the people surrounding her but her immediate vicinity.
Suddenly, she invoked her sword on the right side of her hip as she always does, in difficult situations at least. It was uncommon for her to walk around her own chamber and palace with her weapon ready to be used. Yet, she felt the need to do so.
Before she left her chambers through the massive wooden door placed at the entrance of it. She walked around her room to gather her prueba, her proof as you may call it. The princess, often titled the lady of rain, was not able to leave without it at any moment.
Tap tap tap
Our lady of the rain, started walking around the massive palace that she calls her home. The halls were made out of pure ramelb, an incredibly expensive stone that was incredibly smooth if cut the right way. Of course, her chambers were also covered by it. When walking on this stone, she was reminded of her last few meetings she had of the white while situated at the coasts of Bongola that had been interfering with the ships there that people compared to the silk-smooth surface and color of ramelb.
While thinking of this her mind went to other importances of the nation she had to think off, her normally very active eyes that noticed any differences in her surroundings were this time unaware of the lack of servants and maids alike that were missing in the halls due to being fixated on the ceiling while thinking of how to take care of certain national (and international affairs).
“HELP, PRINCESS PLEASE!”
She heard it, a faint scream in the distance outside of the halls filled with windows that were capturing all the light from the outside. The princess was very much acquainted with this noise, it was her favorite maid “Sheila”.
The bright-minded princess of the rain immediately knew this was a trap. She knew Sheila would’ve rather died a painful death than ask her lord for any help.
Besides this, Sheila was an immensely powerful maid rivaling herself and had grown up with her father who had been through war herself. It is impossible for her to fall or reside in a situation where she needs help from someone weaker than her. She was called the “red flare” during the war after all.
Yet, the princess could not do anything besides running towards the screams that she kept hearing.
“MY PRINCESS PLEASE COME SAVE US”
This time, it was not Sheila, it was Goeinpe. The servant in charge of security, the warden of unbroken barriers as they called him during the war.
“They specifically chose for those two to scream out, they know I can take any of my servants on in a fight but they know how to prove their strength to me,” she finally arrived outside in the massive gardens that her maidens maintained on a daily basis.
The garden was massive, there were beautiful plants from all across the continent. Many researchers have spent their days here researching rare plants while she could come see them many times.
In front of her was a massive open plain in the grass with barely a few flowers blooming and there were her servants, tied up. Not only with rope of course, that would not be enough to hold those war veterans.
There was physical rope tied around them, then a seal made out of mang and beyond that a curse of mang had been put on them. The princess could not unbind the rope even due to it also being sealed with mang.
At this very moment she realized, these seals, these curses, would’ve needed months or even years of preparation to prepare for an actual expert let alone make. This was not a brigand randomly coming inside of her castles, she realized this when she recognized the voice of her servants.
This was not an experienced mang user either, these seals and curses would have taken too much time. It was something much more sinister, a group of people had decided to take the throne for them.
In the midst of it, so busy with her servants she saw her father a bit further lying down on the grass. There was a sword, an ordinary sword pierced through his rib.
“FATHER PLEASE FATHER,” the lady that had never been seen crying besides by her mother was shedding tears while holding her fathers head in her lap. She shed tears that fell unto the cheeks of her father.
“My lady of the rain, my daughter, my sun and moon, oh how you remind me of your mother during these soft times of yours. She cried so often, she was so soft, how I adored her for that. Seeing your tears makes me realize how much you take from your mother.”
Her father started coughing uncontrollably with blood coming out of his mouth.
“He’s a strong one, I think it’s more appropriate to say ‘they’ but they are definitely strong. I know you can take them on though. Do not worry.”
He died there, smiling, such as he always did. He uttered 7 more words, not as a king, not as a father but as a man at the end of his life ready to serve another.
“Thank you for being there, my queen,” the light then disappeared from his eyes.
Her sadness turned into rage.
“WHO DID THIS, I KNOW YOU ARE HERE, I CAN FEEL YOUR PRESENCE YOUR SINISTER MANG CANNOT BE HIDDEN AWAY FROM ME,” she stood up, with her sword in her hands.
This sword created from her mang, had not yet been in its utmost form. She awaited to release all of it at the right time.
Her cousin suddenly appeared before her.
“Good, now we got this over with and we can go to the next step,” he said, standing there, it was quite anticlimactic.
“Before I shred every limb of your body with the torrent of water I will use to forsake you. Tell me, why,” the blade of her sword disappeared.
Dark clouds began crying the sorrow of the passing of the king, tears of the clouds had begun filling the sky.
“I know I can’t kill you and I do know you are stronger than me, I also do know I need you later and I knew that I can’t put any long term seal on you due to the protection the king had put on you. I also do know that I cannot seal your mang due to us being blood related or else I would have done so. Best I can do is cast you far away from her taking away your proof so you let us be until I can make our preparations, so here goes nothing”
Suddenly the ground started shaking, it also started glowing. A thousand glyphs and circles around her started showing.
“It was one big ritual, wasn’t it?” she asked, with pure hatred inside every word.
“Yes and no, we had to kill the servants and the king anyways, they were too much of a threat but at the same time they’re great fuel for a ritual to cast away the strongest of our race in faraway lands.” The reply was cold, calculated and almost demonic.
“I’ll come back,” she started spitting out her words. “I’ll come back, with my own servants and I’ll tear every limb off your body one by one, I’ll take back the throne and I’ll take care of any of you people that dared stand in the way of my nation. I will—,” suddenly, she disappeared.
The ritual was a success.
“Whew, any kind of teleportation isn’t always my strong suit. Let alone teleporting her,” he suddenly sighed after this hard work.
“We could have just killed her,” replied an ominous voice not shown in the garden.
A few other voices agreed.
“You all know, we need her for our next ritual,” all the voices did agree to that too.
“She’ll come back, I know that, by then I know we will be ready and it would surprise me if she came with anybody besides herself anyways, I took her prueba,” he was playing with the little rock in his hands that was glowing.
“Anyways, let’s get to work and clean this up,” the cousin said.
