Chapter 4:

Past mistakes 🎴

HIKARU TO ONNA

Yuki kept begging his  sensei not to come over to his  house. But Sensei just looked at his and said, "I'm going anyway, Yuki, just to praise you in front of your family." Yuki tried one last time to back out, saying, "Oh, come on, Sensei, you really don't have to!" That’s when Sensei slammed his hand on the table and snapped, "Yes, I do! Now, get to class." Poor Yuki was completely lost, having absolutely no clue what to do next.

Once they were in the classroom, Sensei addressed everyone, reminding them that today was the day they were supposed to demonstrate their imagination power. One by one, the other students stepped up and showed off their abilities without any trouble. But of course, when it’s Yuki's turn, things never go smoothly. Yuki stepped up and conjured a crow. The moment it appeared, the look on sensei face was pure shock. Calling it just a crow wouldn't do it justice—it was absolutely terrifying. The whole class stood there, completely jaw-dropped. Sensei could only mutter to himself, "I have no idea how Yuki tapped into her internal power like that, but whatever it is, it's dripping with pure negativity.

While Sensei was still lost in thought, Tatsuya suddenly pointed outward. "Sensei, look. Isn't that a crow... without eyes?"

Sensei’s brow furrowed heavily, but he remained silent.

Before anyone could react, the grotesque crow began thrashing wildly, tearing through the entire room in a blind panic. Desperate to regain control, Yuki pushed his  to the limit, but the unchecked power only made things worse, wrecking the classroom in seconds. Panicked by the chaos, the rest of the students scrambled for the exits, fleeing both inside and outside the room.

, Yuki forced another surg of  his  ability, somehow managing to pin the crow in place. A few tense moments later, the creature simply vanished into thin air.

Exhausted, Yuki collapsed onto the floor, his chest heaving as she gasped for air. "Oh, Sensei..." he panted, wiping the sweat from his  forehead. "I—I was actually trying to imagine a beautiful bird. I had no idea it would turn into that. I think I overdid it with the power..."

Sensei didn't offer a word of comfort. Instead, he simply gestured toward the utter disaster area the classroom had become.

"You’re cleaning all of this up, Yuki," Sensei said flatly.

Yuki’s jaw dropped, and she wailed at the top of her lungs, "SENSEI!!!!!"

The Sensei was already on his way out, throwing a final remark over his shoulder. "It’s no use calling after me, Yuki."

Tatsuya was perched on top of an upturned bench nearby. Intrigued, he looked over and asked, "Yuki, what on earth was that?"

"That," Yuki said, a smug smile spreading across his face, "was my masterpiece."

Tatsuya leaped down from the bench, landing squarely on his feet. "I'm not talking about that. Look at what you’ve actually done!"

Yuki finally took a proper look around, and his jaw dropped. The entire room was a complete disaster; he had turned everything upside down. "What?!" Yuki shrieked, his confidence vanishing instantly. "I did this?!"

"Yep," Tatsuya smirked. "Your masterpiece."

Once everyone cleared out of the room, Yuki was left behind to clean up the massive mess. As he grumbled through the chores, Yumeko walked in to help.

"Yumeko? You're still here?" Yuki asked, surprised.

Without a word, Yumeko picked up a cleaning cloth and got to work alongside him. As they were wiping down the wreckage, Yumeko’s eyes caught something unusual on the floor—a single, stray crow feather. She picked it up and held it out to Yuki.

Curious, Yuki dunked his cleaning cloth into the bucket of water and took the feather from her hand. The moment his fingers brushed against it, he froze. It was incredibly stiff.

"Yumeko, this feels really hard, doesn't it?" Yuki muttered, turning it over.

Yumeko nodded, having noticed the exact same thing. She took the feather back, inspecting it closely. "You said you used your magic to summon a bird, right?"

"Yeah," Yuki replied, squeezing out his cloth and wiping down a table. "But it wasn't just any bird. Crows are actually beautiful."

"But if the feather is this rigid, how could it even fly?" Yumeko asked, genuinely puzzled.

Yuki twirled the damp cloth around his hand, thinking it over. "Maybe it's because I used my powers while trying to control it? That might have changed its structure."

Yumeko didn't press any further, letting the matter drop. Yuki sighed deeply, looking around at the remaining mess. "Man, scrubbing all this down is going to take me the entire day," he groaned.

Later that afternoon, the scene shifts to the Sensei, who was currently walking down the street leading to Yuki’s house. Who knows what kind of trouble is waiting for Yuki now?

Just as the Sensei approached the gate, he crossed paths with Yuki .

"You are not Yuki," the Sensei said, realization hitting him.

Yuki had not come home yet. The Sensei quickly realized his mistake and apologized to Mika.

"I actually came here to talk to Yuki's mother about Yuki," the Sensei explained gently.

Hearing this, Mika let the Sensei inside the house.

Inside, the Sensei met Akari. They both sat down together. "Please, have a seat," Akari said.

"I am Yuki's Sensei," he began. "I came to talk to you about Yuki's power."

At those words, Akari's face turned serious. She stood up, locked the door, and sat back down. It felt like a deep secret was finally about to come to light.

Then, the story shifts into a flashback.

*The Flashback: The Three Rules of Sealing*

Akari had been waiting at the Seal Ground for a very long time. She was there to meet Katsuro Hayato. When Hayato finally arrived, Akari started talking to him about Yuki's power. She opened up and told him everything.

After listening to her, Hayato explained the *Three Rules of Sealing* from the Rules Board:

1. *The First Seal Rules:* If a seal is made using two names, only the first name remains active.

2. *The Same Name Rule:* You can use the same name.

3. *The Loss of Power:* If someone's name is sealed and then that seal is broken, they will lose all their power.

Hayato looked at Akari and added a warning. "According to the second rule, there is a limit to using the same name or names with the same meaning. Inside the same family, two people cannot have names with the same meaning. It is only allowed for different families. Kenshi never explained it clearly.

*A Dark Revelation*

Akari felt her heart sink. "Does that mean Yuki won't get any power?" she asked.

"No, that is not it," Hayato replied.

"But what about the power that is already inside Yuki?" Akari asked, confused.

Hayato looked worried. "That is not power," he said quietly.

"Then... what is it?" Akari asked, her breath catching.

Hayato was silent for a long moment. Finally, he spoke. "It is negativity."

Akari's eyes widened. "Then how will Yuki get the real power?"

At that final question, Hayato's face turned completely dark and serious. He had no easy answer.

He said, "Yuki can only use her power when Yukito is gone."

Akari then asked, "What do you mean? What do you mean by 'gone'?"

Katsuro Hayato looked at Akari and said, "Death."

Hearing this, Akari’s eyes widened in shock.

Hayato continued, "Since their names have the same meaning, Yuki didn't get any power at first, even though Yukito did. If Yukito dies, only then can Yuki use his power. And that is what 'Yukito's absence' actually meant."

Akari said worriedly, "But it’s not written like that on the rules board."

Hayato then explained it to her. He said, "Yeah, Kenshi changed it. He didn't write down the whole truth."

Akari asked, "Where were you? I was looking for you that day."

Hayato replied, "Actually, I hadn't fully moved to this Seal Village back then. When I was supposed to come, I couldn't make it. I was busy with something else. I arrived about a month later. By that time, Hasi was already my daughter. After Kenshi died and I took over the Place of Sealground, another task came up. That's why I wasn't here. I think Kenshi purposely wrote that important part the wrong way."

The current scene opens with Sensei listening intently to everything. His throat goes completely dry. Shocked and bewildered, he repeatedly gulps down water, his face a mask of pure disbelief. The realization finally hits him—now he understands the true, overwhelming nature of Yuki’s power. In a soft, pleading voice, he requests, "Please, do not force anything upon her." Sensei nods slowly and replies, "Alright."

Meanwhile, over at Tatsuya’s shop, Yuki is happily slurping down noodles. "Ah, eating after working for so long feels amazing!" she says to herself. Tatsuya watches her with a warm smile, thinking she is eating like a true champ.

On his way back from Yuki’s house, Sensei happens to spot her sitting inside the noodle shop. He decides to walk in. Stepping up behind her, he places a gentle hand on her shoulder. "Yuki? What are you doing here?"

Yuki stops eating mid-bite, looking up in surprise. "Sensei! You're here?"

Sensei pulls up a chair and sits down. "I actually went to your house."

Yuki gets instantly excited. "And then? What happened?"

"Well," Sensei says, "I went there and found someone who looks exactly like you."

Yuki blinks. "You mean Yukito?"

"Hmm, your twin brother," Sensei confirms.

Suddenly, Yuki bursts out laughing. Sensei frowns slightly. "Why are you laughing?"

"I'm just picturing Yukito getting scolded or fooled in my place! Haha!" he giggles.

"Alright, alright, stop laughing now," Sensei sighs playfully.

Just then, Tatsuya serves Sensei a fresh bowl of noodles. Yuki leans in, getting serious. "Sensei, tell me the truth. What did you say about me at my house?"

Taking a bite of his noodles, Sensei deadpans, "I went there to steal."

Yuki rolls his eyes. "Sensei, stop joking around! Tell me, what did you tell them about me?"

"What's the use of telling you, Yuki?" Sensei replies smoothly. "Just keep your mouth shut and eat your noodles."

Taking his words completely literally, Yuki tightly closes his  lips and awkwardly tries to shove noodles into her mouth without opening it.

Sensei stares at her, completely baffled by the ridiculous sight. "Yuki... what on earth are you doing?"

Through her closed lips, Yuki mumbles, "But Sensei, you told me to keep my mouth shut and eat! I'm just trying to obey you!"

Sensei loses his patience and half-yells, "You never listen to a single thing I say at any other time! Why choose now to follow orders?! I meant stop talking  yuki

Yuki opened his mouth and started eating greedily again, just like before. Between bites, he giggled, "Oh Sensei, you say the funniest things!"

Sensei shot his a terrifying glare. Yuki immediately choked on his food and started coughing.

Later, as Yuki and his Sensei were walking down the road, Yuki broke the silence. "Sensei?"

"Hmm? What is it?" Sensei replied.

"Do you know anything about the Demon Space?"

Sensei stopped and turned his head. "Did you go there?"

"Yeah," Yuki nodded. "Masaru, Tatsuya, and I went."

Sensei’s face grew serious. "Never go there a second time."

Hearing his stern warning, Yuki pushed further. "There was a man there. He told us a bit about the place. But after that..."

"Later," Sensei interrupted coldly.

Yuki continued anyway, "After that, we just left."

Sensei sighed and looked into the distance. "Listen, Yuki. That place is incredibly old. It used to be a part of this very village. But later, it was cut off and isolated. Over time, negative power gathered there, turning it into the nightmare it is today."

Yuki grew curious. "Sensei, what exactly is this negative power?"

Sensei didn't say a word. In that moment, the words of Katsuro, Hayato, and Akari kept echoing in his mind. He was torn, completely unsure of what he should tell Yuki. So, he chose to remain silent.

When Yuki finally got back home, he called out, "I'm home!"

Akari immediately called her over. "Yuki, what on earth did you do today?"

Yuki looked down at the floor, his voice dropping. "I'm sorry... I messed up."

"That's not what I mean!" Akari smiled. "Sensei was actually shocked to see your power."

Just then, Keito chimed in. "Yuki, come here a second."

Yuki walked over to Keito. "What did Sensei say when he came over?"

Keito patted her on the back proudly. "He said you are incredibly powerful! You just tend to mix things up a bit."

Yuki took a step back, looking skeptical. "You're lying. Tell me what he really said."

"Hey, I'm serious, Yuki! That's exactly what he said," Keito laughed.

While Yuki was grabbing a glass of water, Yukito walked into the room. "Hey Yuki, your Sensei came over earlier to complain about you, didn't he?"

Yuki burst out laughing, nearly choking on her water. "Hahaha! Did he beat you up after that? Hahaha!"

Yukito looked at his calmly. "No. Why would he beat me up?"

Yuki shrugged, looking at him. "I mean, we look exactly the same, don't we?"

"We might look alike," Yukito said softly, "but we are very different."

Hearing this, Yuki stared at Yukito. he noticed a heavy sadness in his eyes, as if something was deeply troubling his mind.

The next afternoon, Yuki and Kazuya were sitting together, chatting.

"Yuki, why didn't you show up at the academy today?" Kazuya asked.

Yuki rubbed the back of his neck and smiled sheepishly. "Oh, I just overslept, so I didn't go."

Here is the story fragment translated into a natural, emotionally engaging English narrative flow. It captures the human feelings, dialogue, and cinematic atmosphere without feeling mechanical.

After finishing the conversation, Onna headed back to the hideout where the crew was waiting. Everyone was busy packing up and finalizing details for their journey to Seal Village.

When they finally arrived, a strange wave of familiarity washed over Onna. It felt like a place once called home, though everything had completely changed now.

Kuroba looked around, a bit uneasy. "Onna, do you really think everything will turn out fine?" After a brief pause, onna added softly, "Our past might have been dark, but our future will be beautiful, right?"kuroba just nodded slowly. "Maybe. But the past was brutal, and that is a fact."

They soon passed by a place that looked like an old age home. It was filled with elderly men and women whose eyes held nothing but deep-seated despair, pain, and resentment. They looked entirely cut off from their families. One look at their weathered faces told you everything you needed to know about whether they had anyone left in the world. This place was the very definition of loneliness and isolation. The people who were once young and full of life were now spending their twilight years in absolute solitude. It was a heartbreaking sight, leaving a bitter taste of sorrow and anger in the air.

"Yeah, just try to forget about all this," someone murmured.

Kuroba looked back, eyes wide with disbelief. "How can I just forget?"

Onna remained silent.

A little later, Onna and the entire group gathered together, sitting in a circle. Onna addressed the crowd, voice steady and resonant. "Look, we have finally reached our destination. Think about how many years it took us to win this place back. Now, we are going to strip everyone in this village of their powers. You all had a rightful claim to live on this land. But your own people treated you with absolute cruelty. Don't you want revenge? We will make them powerless, and show them exactly what helplessness and hatred feel like."

Onna leaned in closer. "Tomorrow is the festival. We can easily infiltrate the Place of the Sealground."

Everyone in the room nodded in agreement, fully backing the plan. Looking at their faces, it was clear they wanted this from the bottom of their hearts.

With the meeting over, Onna went off to get some sleep.

Outside, Yami and Chi sat together under the night sky, talking quietly.

Yami sighed, staring into the distance. "Haah... back when I was at home, nobody really talked to me. My slow, trembling voice... it just annoyed everyone. I was always completely on my own."

Chi looked over, nodding gently.  yami,

You're totally right. It really hurts when growing older feels like getting left behind or ignored by the people around us. That emotional weight definitely sets a heavy mood for the beginning of this scene.

Here is the story written in a completely natural, human, and native English flow:

"You're dressed up so beautifully for the evening festival! Are you all set to go?" Yuki asked, trying to spark some excitement. But Yukito just sat there, looking completely miserable.

Yuki walked over, concerned. "Hey, what's wrong?"

"Nothing," Yukito mumbled, staring at the floor.

"Come on, just come with me," Yuki urged.

But Yukito simply shook his head, refusing to budge.

Haru had been standing nearby, watching the whole exchange between the two of them. He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but he knew something was seriously bothering Yukito. As soon as Yuki gave up and left, Haru walked into Yukito's room.

"Hey, Yukito, what's going on?" Haru asked gently. "Why didn't you go to the festival with Yuki?"

"I just don't feel like going," Yukito sighed, sounding completely drained. "I'm not up for it." Before Haru could say anything else, Yukito crawled back into bed and pulled the covers up.

Meanwhile, Yuki headed out alone. On the way, he ran into Tatsuya and Masaru walking down the street.

"Hey guys!" Yuki called out, looking around. "Where's Kazuya? Isn't he with you?"

"Nah, Kazuya had to go with his dad for some really important work," Masaru replied.

Tatsuya chimed in, "Wait, you mean at the chemical laboratory?"

"Yeah, exactly," Masaru nodded.

Yuki’s eyes widened in total shock. "Wait, a chemical laboratory?! What on earth is that about?"
