Chapter 4:

Past memory, or future memory?

Forced hero from fragthesized planet Auxularion-B

"Zorhala... I feel familiar with that name," Alut murmured. "I feel like that sword's name and appearance belong to my son. But I'm not married yet."
He knew that sword was a weapon form, and that Zorhala was a Quantum Demon like his younger sister. He didn't understand why he knew it.
"What happened?" Lord Rastanura asked.
"I feel familiar with that sword," Alut replied.
"Familiar? Isn't this your first time seeing that sword?" Lord Rastanura asked again.
"I feel like that sword is my son," Alut explained.
"Hah, your son? You aren't married yet, right?" Lord Rastanura asked.
"That's correct, but I don't know why I feel that way," Alut confirmed.
"How can you have a chi—"
"Who is your wife, my honored elder brother?" Suryawari asked excitedly.
"I'm not married yet," Alut replied.
"And how can you have a child?" Lord Rastanura asked, astonished.
"In fact, I don't have a child right now," Alut tried to explain. "But I don't know why I feel like that black sword is my son."
"Do you know that sword?" Lord Rastanura asked.
"That sword is Zorhala's weapon form. He is a Quantum Demon like her," Alut said, pointing toward Suryawari.
"Are you sure?" Lord Rastanura verified.
"Of course," Alut confirmed.
"Not a single person has ever seen Demon King Zorhala's appearance," Lord Rastanura explained. "The demon currently leading the Fleosh Kingdom claims to be Zorhala. But after calculating his mana, he isn't truly Zorhala. He is just the Demon King's puppet. His true name is Asmangur, Zorhala's First General."
Lord Rastanura was thoroughly confused as to how a teenager could have a child before marriage; there was simply no logical reason to believe it. He tried to accept the idea, but his mind instinctively rejected it. Alut was equally bewildered by his own memories—he wasn't married yet, but the memories echoed powerfully inside his mind.
"I try to deny these memories, but I can't," Alut added.
"Where do these memories even come from?" Lord Rastanura asked.
"I don't know," Alut replied, bewildered.
"Help!" a voice cried out.
They both heard it—the panicked voice of a young boy echoing in the distance. They instantly realized there was no time left to argue; they needed to focus on saving the boy as first priority.
"There is no time for arguing now," Lord Rastanura said, staring at Alut intently.
"I know," Alut nodded solemnly.
Alut focused his senses to detect Mana—the virtual Manastron particles surrounding them. He knew that activating magic required calculating its underlying quantum processes; a spell would never trigger merely by reciting a chant or drawing a magic circle. Focusing his vision, he sought out the interactions of virtual Manastron as they interacted with other particles, including fellow bosons and adjacent virtual Manastron fields.
"<Kala Jagat>," Alut muttered, trying to recall every particle state tied to the spell. "Ah, I see it now."

He focused on sensing lunon—the carrier particles of light—and attempted to imitate the mechanical processes of Maginosilicyum.
"Are you trying to set your presence value to absolute?" Lord Rastanura asked, noticing the shift in energy.

"Of course," Alut replied, chanting to accelerate his calculations: "Absolute setter of presence value magic, <Kala Jagat>!"
He could feel the conditions of every location within this Fragthesis, Auxularion-B—the origin layer and highest-ranked among the infinite Fragthesis layers of Planet Auxularion. By modulating his energy perception, he narrowed his sensory scope exclusively to the Adaika Duchy, locking onto the exact coordinate radiating the boy's voice.
Lord Rastanura stood frozen in utter shock. He knew that any normal human attempting to use absolute presence setter magic would die instantly. Even among the strongest demon races, the immense processing overload would shatter their minds beyond repair. Only a Markstrom Core possessed the capacity to execute such magic, and even then, only once per year. Yet Alut was no Markstrom Core—he was merely the heir of Adaika Duchy. Furthermore, a Markstrom Core was physically incapable of siring a child.
"How can you possibly use the absolute setter of presence value magic?!" Lord Rastanura demanded in shock.
"How I used that magic isn't important right now. The top priority is saving the owner of that voice," Alut added.
Hearing Alut's words, Lord Rastanura agreed. "Where is the voice coming from?"
"Twenty-five meters from here," Alut said, pointing toward a ruined wall ahead of them.
Lord Rastanura knew Alut was pointing to the area behind the rubble. Sensing a presence there as well, Rastanura focused on the interaction between Mana and Syron particles—the carrier particles of gravity. In response, the ruined wall appeared to teleport ten meters above the ground. In reality, the wall hadn't physically teleported; its floating appearance was a gravitational lensing effect. Because no shadow was cast on the ground below, the floating structure was merely an optical illusion created by bent light.
Through his Promactum eyeglasses, Alut could visually see the boy. Without them, he would have only felt his location mentally. Lord Rastanura, who wasn't wearing such eyeglasses, could not see the boy directly, but could clearly feel his presence in his mind.
"Save the boy now," Lord Rastanura instructed.
Alut's second shadow teleported in five-meter increments toward the boy, and Alut dashed swiftly along its path. Reaching the child, he pulled him up.Before retreating, Alut's second shadow teleported once again in five-meter intervals back toward safety. Lord Rastanura stayed focused on maintaining the spell; he knew he couldn't offer direct physical help. If he broke his concentration, the suspended rubble would collapse the moment the illusion on air vanished and back to ground.
The instant Alut cleared the hazard area, Lord Rastanura deactivated his gravitational magic. The optical illusion faded, and the actual ruined wall crashed down onto the ground in a new position.
Alut stood beside Lord Rastanura after successfully escaping the collapsing wall. He set the boy down, feeling a wave of relief that their rescue attempt had succeeded.
"Your plan succeeded? In your dreams!" a voice mocked.
A shadow materialized beside him, followed by a shower of golden dust that condensed into a massive demon. He possessed a frame larger than the tallest human, though his most distinctive—and absurd—feature was his eggplant-shaped nose. Wearing nothing but dull brown trousers, the entity revealed himself as a Buto Terong.
Despite his comical appearance, his raw strength was terrifying. Unlike other Buto sub-tribes, a Buto Terong possessed the power to trigger earthquakes across an entire supercontinent like Adasea—a landmass comprising a hundred kingdoms, including Fleosh (the demon Kingdom led by Demon King Zorhala) and Falias (a human kingdom ruled by King Aditura).
Alut was sent flying by the demon's punch. Desperate to avoid triggering his younger sister's alter ego again, he pushed through the agonizing pain crawling across his body and tried to stand. Meanwhile, the Buto seized the boy with his left hand, hoisting him high into the air.
"Help me!" the boy cried out hoarsely.
Lord Rastanura lunged forward to save the child. His glowing blade struck the demon's skin, but failed to leave even a scratch.
"Try harder next time! Your sword just tickles," the Buto mocked.
Alut's second shadow teleported in five-meter intervals toward the Buto, broadcasting his trajectory to anyone watching. The Buto easily anticipated the move, preparing to kick Alut the moment he arrived.
Drawing the sword from his back, Alut charged and struck the demon. Yet again, the blade failed to pierce the Buto's hide, and Alut was violently flung back by a counter-kick.
Left with no choice, Alut knew he had to ask his younger sister for help. He hesitated, knowing it might summon her volatile alter ego, but if he didn't act, the boy would die.
"Suryawari, help me!" Alut shouted.
"Hold on, my honored elder brother!" Suryawari replied.
Sensing her brother's desperation, Suryawari rushed to his side and reached out. The moment Alut's fingers brushed hers, Suryawari transformed into a radiant golden scythe. Relief washed over Alut when he realized her alter ego hadn't taken over.
He leapt toward the Buto. With a swift arc of his sister's weapon form, the scythe severed the demon's head before it could react, freeing the boy at last.
"Osmocantrin," Alut muttered, staring at his sister's weapon form.
The name surfaced spontaneously from his echoes of memory, though he had no idea where the recollection originated.
"Osmocantrin?" Suryawari asked. "Isn't that the entity born near the Sucrologue stars?"
Alut understood what an Osmocantrin was and recognized that Suryawari was correct. He knew the nature of Sucrologue stars—celestial bodies that absorb information and radiate it back as negative information, from which Osmocantrin entities coalesce.
Unlike a Markstrom Core—which forms near smaller stars from positive information to construct planets and their physical laws—an Osmocantrin exists to destroy the structured information created by a Markstrom Core.
Suryawari released herself from her brother's grip and shifted back into human form.
"Why did you mention Osmocantrin?" Lord Rastanura asked.
"I'm not sure... but I feel as if I've fought one before," Alut replied.
"Do you know what an Osmocantrin can do?" Suryawari asked.
"I know two of its abilities," Alut answered.
