PREQUEL: TALE OF MUSASHI (CHAP5)

On their way to the Head Master’s chamber, Koji spoke to Musashi.

‘’Yami is a once-in-a-generation talent. He was the first and only kid to ever be adopted by the Head Master. I don’t know all the details on how the two met, but for sure, Yami is the strongest in all of the Karasuyama’s disciples. All of this and he is just 12 years old.’’

Koji and Musashi entered the room where the Head Master greeted them with a cup of tea.

‘’Well, I can see that you have changed, Musashi.’’ Musashi didn’t reply and just drank his tea.

‘’Kid, show respect to the Head Master!’’ Koji hit him on the head, and Musashi spilled the tea everywhere.

‘’Don’t be too hard, Koji. After all, he is no longer a normal citizen. He’s now a Karasuyama Member!’’ Koji and Karasuyama smiled while Musashi continued drinking his tea in silence.

‘’Musashi.’’ He stopped drinking and looked at the Head Master. ‘’ I want you to start on your duties as a full-fledged Karasuyama now.’’

‘’WHAT?!’’ Koji jumped. ‘’My Lord, he is only 6 years old! Not a single person will accept his performances! He needs more time! Even Yami didn’t start at such a young age.’’

‘’And that is why he will start.’’ Karasuyama put his cup down. ‘’the younger he starts doing executions, the more people will believe in the Karasuyama Clan. Imagine a kid aged just 6 years old is able to do a flawless execution. The thought of it will tremble anyone!’’ Koji was speechless. ‘’Now, Musashi. Do you think you’re ready to start?’’

Musashi put down his cup, looked at the Head Master, and then pointed at the cursed Katana on the wall.

‘’You want that katana?’’ Musashi nodded his head.

‘’Brat! Now you really got over the line. That Katana belongs only to the Head Master of the Clan!’’

As Koji continued yelling at Musashi, Karasuyama was thinking.

‘’Okay.’’ Koji stopped and slowly looked towards the Head Master in disbelief.

‘’M-MY LORD? You can’t be serious!’’

‘’But on one condition.’’ Musashi then got closer and started to wiggle his imaginary tail. ‘’You must defeat every disciple in the Karasuyama Clan. And then I will give it to you! I will also postpone you starting your duties until you defeat all the disciples.’’

‘’M-MY LORD HE CAN’T DEFEAT— ‘’ Then Koji thought about his words and stopped talking. Musashi, however, was thrilled and started nodding his head heavily.

After that, Musashi left the room. Koji stayed to speak with the Head Master.

‘’Head Master.’’

‘’Yes, Koji.’’

‘’Your intentions are not to make him start doing executions. But you want to make him the new Karasuyama.’’

‘’Indeed.’’

‘’Isn’t it too early for you to do such a thing?’’

‘’Koji, when you put a seed in the ground and you keep watering it every day, the seed grows eventually.’’ Karasuyama started pouring tea for himself. ‘’Only when you start early can you harvest the fruit at the end.’’

They drank the tea in silence when Karasuyama spoke again.

‘’No one else but those who are born in the dark and live in it can become the leader of our Clan!’’
