Chapter 3:

Orario Erupts

Danmachi: Impossible Hero

Tavian looked at Raya, the opponent he had injured.

That punch had knocked the man unconscious.

Raya's Familia companions had already pulled him out of the wall.

Ignoring all the eyes on him, Tavian walked over.

"His injuries are my fault."

"Let me handle it."

They were still at the city gate. Since the man had been hurt because Tavian got a little too excited, he naturally felt he should heal him.

"Huh?"

The Ganesha Familia guard holding Raya was completely baffled.

What now?

Tavian raised his hand.

"Healing Ray!"

With a sweep of his arm, a gentle light fell over Raya.

"Healing magic!"

The Ganesha guard holding his companion felt the light from up close and immediately thought of healing magic.

And yet, he could sense that this healing power was different from ordinary magic.

"So warm."

It was gentle. Incredibly gentle.

For a moment, the guard felt as if he were standing inside a dazzling glow, his body filling with vitality.

The light ended almost as quickly as it had appeared.

Tavian knew Raya's body had recovered.

"Relax. He's fine now. I only knocked him unconscious with one punch," Tavian said.

"Thank you."

From that moment on, the Ganesha Familia looked at him differently.

He was overwhelmingly strong, but when his opponent was hurt, he still healed the man after the fight.

Someone like that practically shone.

"Then, if there are no problems, I'll head into the city."

"Of course. Please, go right in."

The way the Ganesha Familia members looked at him had changed completely.

They were looking at a powerful fighter now.

In Orario, strength naturally came with a reputation of its own.

Tavian stepped through the gate and into the city.

Behind him, the people at the gate finally exploded into noise.

The Ganesha Familia reacted fastest of all.

"Hurry and inform Lord Ganesha."

"A new powerhouse has entered Orario. He has no Falna, defeated a Level 1 adventurer with one punch, and possesses extremely powerful healing magic."

"If someone that strong joined our Familia..."

"Our Familia could rise higher than we can even imagine."

The guards were already thinking about recruiting him.

If Tavian was already this absurd without Falna, what would happen if he received it?

That would be beyond monstrous.

A party entering the Dungeon with someone like him would be far safer than usual.

He was a heavy hitter and a healer at the same time.

A fighter like that would be welcome anywhere.

Word of Tavian also spread through every corner of Orario at terrifying speed.

The first rumor was about his secret technique: Cosmic Martial Arts.

According to the witnesses, one punch from it could easily defeat a Level 1 adventurer.

The second rumor was that he could use healing magic without receiving Falna from any god.

The third rumor was the real bombshell.

In front of hundreds of witnesses, Tavian had summoned Artemis, goddess of the moon.

Yes, summoned.

Once that word spread, all of Orario went wild.

The key detail was still the same.

He had done all of it without Falna.

The gods who heard the news immediately began to stir.

Inside the Ganesha Familia, Lord Ganesha shot up from his seat.

"What? A person that powerful has appeared?"

Because his Familia had been the first to make contact with Tavian, Ganesha received the news before anyone else.

The report was clear.

The newcomer could summon what seemed to be a goddess's projection to increase his fighting power, knew the secret technique Cosmic Martial Arts, and could use healing magic.

All without Falna.

A human like that was like a brilliant beacon in the dark.

When Ganesha heard that his children wanted to recruit him, he was tempted.

No, more than tempted.

He wanted to pull that human child into his Familia right away.

Inside the Loki Familia, Loki nearly spat out what she was drinking.

"Pfft. Something like that exists?"

After hearing her children's report, even Loki was stunned.

Holy crap. What kind of terrifying rookie had just arrived?

"If that kid joined us..."

The thought of her Familia growing even stronger, breaking the balance between Familias and leaping straight to the top, made Loki want to see him for herself immediately.

Inside the Apollo Familia, Apollo reacted even faster.

"That child. I have to meet him."

After hearing the news, Apollo felt he had to see this newcomer.

A human capable of calling down a projection of his sister Artemis?

How could he possibly sit still?

More importantly, according to the chant being spread through the city, the move had been called:

Artemis' Pure Love.

That was plainly tied to the legend of Orion.

Besides, Apollo had seen Orion's starlight shine in the daytime sky with his own eyes.

He understood what that meant.

It had to be a projection of his sister.

The human must have been drawing on some kind of legend.

Apollo wanted to leave at once and find him.

Meanwhile, Hestia was buying fried potato balls on one of Orario's streets.

As she listened to the rumors passing through the crowd, her eyes grew wider and wider.

"What did you say? Seriously? He actually..."

Hestia could hardly believe it.

He could summon Artemis.

He could use Cosmic Martial Arts.

He could even use healing magic.

And all of that without receiving Falna from any god.

At first, it sounded ridiculous.

But the passersby repeating the story did not look as if they were lying, and they openly pointed toward the gate where it had happened.

Hestia understood then that the story was true.

The child at the center of the rumors had exactly that kind of strength.

On top of that, the starlight of Orion had shone in the sky not long ago, visible even to human eyes.

That told Hestia one more thing.

This newcomer was either connected to her dear friend Artemis, or somehow connected to her without truly belonging to her.

And since Artemis never accepted men into her Familia, Hestia understood that her chance had come.

"Artemis definitely will not take him."

"And if it's for me, her best friend, I'm sure she'll forgive me."

If Hestia could bring this child into her Familia, then all the hardship she had endured since descending to the lower world would finally be worth it.

She had pulled an ultra-rare card right at the start.

That was the kind of luck that could make a goddess laugh in her sleep.
