Chapter 44:
Witch’s First Espionage Mission in 200 Years
Lights, Camera, Action!
Sybill walked towards the dead apple orchard with grace and poise while the whole village watched in awe.
“I have the restored the apple orchard.”
“Cut, cut! No ‘the’ in that line. Remember, you were taught proper speech by Silvi before this.”
“Yeah, yeah, whatever. This shit keeps changing every single time.”
Boujee Shimmer picked prop apples from the trees and threw them at the crew surrounding her.
“Who even watches this stuff? The audience has to be crazy.”
“Oh yeah? I don’t know.”
Adrian Knox, who played Sammy, chimed in.
“It is me, baby. Can you hear the screams of my fans from outside? I am the reason. Don’t you get it?”
“The show’s about me, jerkwad. It’s called The Witch’s First Espionage Mission in 200 Years, not Idiot Prince and the Beauty Beside Him.”
Boujee, the actress playing Sybill, pointed at her hairstylist.
“Remove this humongous wig now. I am done for the day.”
The director was already sitting with his head in his hands.
“At this rate, we will never be able to finish before September 27.”
Lila Moon, who played Elena, ran towards the director.
“Maybe if you had given me that role, I would have carried it much better without all the tantrums.”
“Do you have the same raw star power as Boujee? No. Now scoot before I fire you from the role too.”
Lila ran away with her tail between her legs.
Bianca Royale, who played Silvi, was already sitting like royalty on her couch. She merely glanced from her shiny porcelain nails to Lila and Boujee.
“And this is what happens when you don’t recognize greatness.”
She crossed one leg over the other.
“First I have to carry scenes by myself and learn the most dialogue while these two just frolic around like idiots.”
Bianca snapped her fingers at a nearby attendant.
“You there. Make this porcelain gleam, you understand? Nobody gets to take their eyes off me once I’m on TV.”
---
Rafael Torres, who played Rowland, was curling a dumbbell while giving an interview.
“I put on twenty kilos for this role. Twenty kilos. Do you have any idea how much chicken and protein powder that takes?”
He flexed his arm.
“And that idiot Adrian gets more screen time than me. He gets inventions. He gets black soot powder. What do I get?”
Rafael glanced at the sword lying beside him.
“A sword.”
He shook his head.
“You just have to be Insta-famous and do no hard work to get anywhere these days.”
“And the whole mystery that I ended up solving? Vincent Sterling takes the lead and gets to dismantle Darlene.”
Rafael jabbed a finger towards himself.
“That was clearly my scene. That was meant for me.”
He scoffed.
“My whole role has been reduced to being a trophy boyfriend. Eye candy. Fan service.”
He looked genuinely offended.
“They don’t even let me take my shirt off that often.”
Rafael flexed again.
“These six-pack abs aren’t for keeping under thick garments, you know.”
“I can’t believe I let myself fall for this.”
Vincent Sterling, who played King Andrew, was passing by when he overheard Rafael complaining.
“Do you even know what you’re talking about, boy? Just look at me. I have more Femmys in my cupboard than you have years on this earth.”
He gestured towards himself.
“And don’t forget, boy. I get paid the same amount of money that all of you losers get paid combined.”
Vincent flashed a smug smile, his teeth practically sparkling.
“You see this face? It can still make teenagers, twenty-year-olds, middle-aged women—swoon over me.”
Rafael stared at him.
“Teenagers? Wouldn’t that be illegal?”
Vincent shrugged.
“What’s legal or illegal to a heart that yearns for Vincent’s love? Everything is fair in love and war.”
---
Boujee saw Lila wearing the glittery, shimmery dress she was supposed to wear in a scene.
“I was just trying it on,” Lila tried to defend herself.
But Boujee couldn’t bear to see her dress being worn by another woman. She lunged at Lila, and the two started fighting.
A scratch appeared across Lila’s face, and she turned feral too.
It took the crew a full fifteen minutes to get the two women to stop fighting, especially since they were supposed to appear in the very next scene together.
“Action!”
The two girls put their arms around each other and giggled happily while eating strawberry pie and reading the newest Silhvester episode.
“Oh, the Elena, you are the best friend I the never had.”
“I love you too, Sibi.”
“Cut!”
Boujee picked up the book and started hitting Lila almost immediately, as if she had been waiting for the opportunity.
Lila grabbed a cushion and tried to defend herself, but several of Boujee’s attacks landed cleanly on her.
Lila cried for several minutes before one of the crew members finally managed to console her.
---
Bianca Royale was enjoying a glass of iced lavender tea when she noticed something was off.
The honey wasn’t imported.
The crime was serious.
She threw the entire glass into the attendant’s face.
“Go and change this right now, or I will leave the set and take the ratings with me.”
“If you make another mistake with my hair or makeup, I’ll quit without a word. Good luck finding another doll with the same grace and pizzazz as me.
---
Adrian Knox’s latest scandal was unfolding live on Instagram.
He had been dating two best friends at the same time, and now both women were throwing a tantrum over him.
Adrian tried to hide his face as screaming fans crowded around him.
Everyone seemed to be shouting the same thing.
“Cheater! Cheater!”
Rafael Torres crossed his arms.
“See? I told you so. There was no need for a character named Sammy at all. I would have done everything, and brilliantly.”
He glanced towards Adrian.
“I could even have handled dating two best friends without them knowing about each other for eternity. That’s how cool I am.”
“Yeah, that is if you would have even been able to find two girlfriends willing to date you,” Boujee remarked.
She looked Rafael up and down.
“But the way things seem, you might actually have to 3D-print your girlfriends yourself.”
Boujee grimaced.
“I can’t believe I have to kiss this guy.”
She turned towards the director.
“Can we cut the scene? I cannot kiss this guy.”
“We might need to speak to the writer to change this stuff.”
The assistant director shook his head.
“That will not happen. Before we get Soulwriter861 to change a single line, we might have to change the whole crew. The author is one stubborn son of a—”
---
Cheers erupted from every side as Sim, who played Queen Natalie, entered.
Sim was already famous as the reality TV star of Simping Up with the Carlashians—and for several other things that could not be described here. At least not in a PG-13 setting.
She entered wearing a skin-tight gown that revealed her curvy hourglass figure, her long black hair caressing her hips. Her face was perfectly sculpted with Botox, and the amount of filler in her lips wasn’t fooling anyone.
“How was it playing Queen Natalie?” one of the interviewers asked.
“Oh my God, so easy. I’m literally a born queen.”
Sim tossed her hair back.
“People kept telling me acting was going to be difficult, but cameras have been following me practically my whole life.”
“What was the hardest part?”
“The crown kept ruining my hair.”
She looked directly into the camera.
“But speaking of crowns, my new Queen Glow skincare line launches this week.”
The interviewer stared at her.
“And my swimsuit line is already available.”
Sim smiled.
“If you want to live the Sim way, you have to shop the Sim way.”
---
Boujee was throwing another tantrum after finding out that another actress had been given a bigger trailer than hers, while Lila screamed because her hair had not been fixed the way she wanted it.
Insults and curses were hurled—bitch, slut, dumbass, lunatic.
Meanwhile, the attendant still dripping with lavender tea was furious, and an unsuspecting Bianca was about to face something horrendous.
He stepped forward and yanked the cushion out from beneath her.
The porcelain doll toppled backwards, about to hit the floor and break—
---
Silvi’s button eyes snapped open.
She looked around frantically.
Sybill and Elena were sleeping peacefully nearby. The room was quiet, the castle exactly as she remembered it, and her porcelain limbs were reassuringly stiff once again.
“Oh, thank goodness.”
Silvi stared at the ceiling.
“What a peculiar dream.”
