Chapter 5:

Curve 5. Pythagoras, the Father of Aecte Arts (Magic); Reincarnation and Isekai

Agnesi the Witch and the Quietus Cloud

Nuvolo Ardito Figliuoli explained, "Yesterday, your father said he would buy land and a house in the city of Como, not far from the famous and beautiful Lake Como, Miss Agnesi. I think your father can complete the purchase in the next few days. Your mother said that you will also have several maids with you, and your private tutor will also live in the house."

Agnesi commented, "My parents have done a lot of things, including those things, so I must always study hard."

Nuvolo nodded his head, while Agnesi said again, "My mom and my dad haven't told me and my sister about this. However, somehow, I think my sister has the presentiment that I will separate from her."

Nuvolo agreed, "I think so too. Miss Caetana's sister had a premonition of this."

Agnesi said, "I'm going to play with my little sister more in my last days at home. I think that's also the reason why Mr. Figliuoli chose not to do an Aecte Arts test so that I still have a lot of energy to play with my little sister. Right?

Nuvolo nodded his head.

Agnesi stated, "But first, let's finish today's lesson, Mr. Figliuoli."

Nuvolo said, "Alright, Miss Caetana. Let's begin our lesson today. I will review all the lessons that Miss Caetana has pored over so far. Let's start from the history of Aecte and Aecte Arts. Please describe what Miss Caetana remembers. Later, I will correct any mistakes or ask some questions that Miss Caetana must answer as soon as possible."

Agnesi immediately explained what she remembered about the history of Aecte and Aecte Arts. Agnesi began by naming a figure. She said, "Pythagoras the Magismat, the Magister of Mathematikoi, the Father of Aecte and Aecte Arts. We could say he was the most influential figure in the history of Aecte and Aecte Arts. He lived approximately 2,200 years ago, from 1230 to 1305."

Nuvolo immediately asked, "Where did the counting of years begin so that humans can call a year, for example, 1230, which Miss Agnesi mentioned?"

Agnesi immediately answered and asked, "The counting of years begins from the moment humans left the Ring Sanctuary of Pommelte site. Yesterday I briefly touched on that when I asked my question and idea about the possibility that time would feel different or relative on different planets. Mr. Figliuoli, should I move on to that topic?"

Nuvolo replied, "No. Please, Miss Caetana, continue explaining the history of Aecte and Aecte Arts."

Agnesi followed Nuvolo's instructions by mentioning Pythagoras' name again: "Pythagoras the Magismat, the Magister of Mathematikoi, the Father of Aecte and Aecte Arts. He was the first person to discover the existence of aether in this world. Pythagoras theorized that aether existed and was spread throughout the world. He experimented with ways of understanding it. Pythagoras also made experiments on how humans could control and convert aether into energies that humans could manifest in various forms and things. That is the origin of the term Aecte, meaning the conversion of aether into energy."

Nuvolo commented and asked, "That's right, Miss Caetana, and how did the acronym Aecte originate?"

Agnesi answered, "Aether is transformed into energy, or, in Hellenika language, which was Pythagoras' language, 'Aiether metaschematizetai eis energeian,' which was the source of the acronym Aecte."

Nuvolo commented and asked, "That's right, Miss Caetana. Okay, now I'll ask you a question, Miss Caetana: what are Pythagoras' views on matters unrelated to the aether?"

Agnesi answered without thinking for long, "One of Pythagoras' views is that the thing that most distinguishes humans from animals and plants is the hierarchy of consciousness. Humans have a soul or psyche. According to Pythagoras, there are three elements in the soul, namely intelligence, passion, and reasoning. According to Pythagoras, plants only have the most basic level of soul, namely vegetative life, which is purely physical, animals have intelligence and passion but do not have reason, while humans are the only living creatures endowed with reason."

Nuvolo commented, "That's right, Miss Caetana."

Agnesi continued her explanation, "It is reason that allows humans to control Aecte, something neither plants nor animals can do.”

Nuvolo commented and asked, "That's right, Miss Caetana. But let's return to the topic of the human soul. How did Pythagoras view the soul?"

Agnesi could answer spontaneously, "Pythagoras argued that the soul is immortal, and in the cycle of rebirth, the soul can move from a human body to an animal or plant body, and vice versa. Because of this, Pythagoras concluded that all living things are essentially kin. Because of this, Pythagoras considered animal torture to be a very bad thing, and the Magismat also suggested that humans live as vegetarians."

Nuvolo asked, "And such views led Pythagoras to forbid eating what food?"

Agnesi could answer spontaneously, "Pythagoras believed that fava beans were plants that had biological and spiritual properties similar to those of humans. Pythagoras believed that destroying and eating fava beans could potentially disturb and harm the human soul that might reside within the plant."

Nuvolo commented and asked, "That's true, Miss Caetana. But what are the current opinions on vegetarianism, and what is the current situation?”

Agnesi answered without thinking for long, "Many scientists are now questioning whether being a vegetarian can increase a person's Aecte level and Aecte Arts. Some people believe that being a vegetarian can increase a person's Aecte level and Aecte Arts; others believe the opposite, and some believe that being a vegetarian is not a factor at all."

Nuvolo commented and asked, "Exactly, that is true, Miss Caetana. Then, are there any views of Pythagoras the Magismat that are still questioned today?"

Agnesi spontaneously answered, "Yes. For example, there is the view of Pythagoras, the Father of Aecte and Aecte Arts, regarding souls being able to reincarnate. There are those who agree with this idea. There are those who think that perhaps the concept of reincarnation is not quite right. There are also those who ask whether it is possible that souls are not reincarnated in the world we live in now but rather in a different world."

Nuvolo commented, "Ah, there you have it, Miss Caetana. Isekai, a concept from the Eastern countries. Could you elaborate on the concept of Isekai?"

Agnesi answered without thinking, "According to the concept of Isekai, it is possible that souls are not only reincarnated into humans or animals on Earth but also into living beings in other worlds. For example, an old man in the city of Milan who died could be reincarnated into a world where the creatures in that world sleep with their eyes open and carry out their activities with their eyes closed, which is, of course, completely different from Earth."
