You See Me But Do You Hear Me

I've always wondered if I matter

People look in my direction but not at me

I say things and you respond

But later you ask me the question

Question me about what I asked

You say you listen but do you really 

You act like you hear but do you care

Do you care enough to give me attention 

Does no one care enough to talk to me

I know it's true, I know it is

I don't matter enough for anyone to look

Anyone to stare, anyone to listen

Even for a little bit, just a second

I just need to know if I matter

If I'm seen or am I just someone

Someone to look past

But never acknowledge nor see
