Chapter 3:

The Wizards Tower

Regalia Hyper Pursuit

Lea looks all around, so completely enchanted by what she's seeing, that she forgets to snap Trey out of his daze. The entire inside of the tower is grandiose to say the least. Decorative vines grow on the walls, weird ruins cover the floor. The lamps and torches seem kept alive by magic. Real magic! Lea had only read about such things in books before, and now, seeing it in person. She's absolutely thrilled. Practically bouncing off the walls. She 'accidently' slaps Trey in his face and shrieks as she jumps back in surprise.

Lea: "Oh! Sorry, I didn't expect your face to be there..." She laughs uncomfortably, shaking her hand to get rid of the stinging feeling.

Trey: *Snaps back* "Ow! Be more careful next time! Geeze..." He rubs his face while looking around. "Woah...I might have forgot who I was standing next to as well if I saw this..."

He gasped, he had never seen anything like it in his life. This place seems to cool to be true. The coolest place he's ever seen before this was a cave near the town right behind a waterfall that his grandfather, Grimm, had shown him seven years prior.

Trey: "How could they hide something like this cool from us for so long?" He tightly grabbed his hair to fix it. It looked like quite a mess. "This has to be at least as old as grandpa was..."

Lea: "If not older." She quickly adds. "But why build it all the way up here and not down near the town?" She touches one of the ruins on the ground. Nothing happens of course.

Trey: "Maybe the wizard of this tower just doesn't like company." He grabs a book off of a shelf and they both get teleported to a new room. One with a big plaque on the wall and a door. "Lea, you say something?" He grabs the door, "What happened? Why are we here? And what's that?!"

Lea: *Looks up at the plaque* "Oh no..." It was a riddle. "I hate riddles! I can't seem to get them."

Trey: "What does it say?" He asks like an impatient child.

Lea: "Read it for yourself!" She says annoyed by his pushiness.

Trey: "But I can't read...you know that!" He was instead taught how to hunt.

Lea: "Oh...right" She blushes in embarrassment before beginning.

"Beomoth downs her favored grub, in her cave with all her cubs. The names of her children are, Hot, Rot, Flim, Flam, Ev-Go, Car-Yim, Blit, Rit, Lar, Gar, and of corse the deadly Iv-O-Bar. Each of her children have a rat with two fleas on each ones back. Each little flea has three small worms. Now hear my question, don't you chirm...How many things are living in Beomoth's cave?"

Trey: "That's a lot...I think...I have no idea how to solve that! That's actually impossible!"

Lea: "No, it's not! We just have to work it out with the numbers we get from the song. It's simple: There are eleven kids, and each kid has a rat...that's twenty-two. Then you add another twenty-two for the fleas, giving us forty-four. Then each flea has three worms, so twenty-two times three is sixty-six. Then we just add it all together, and forty-four plus sixty-six is one hundred and ten! Oops! I almost forgot to add Beomoth to the number. The answer is one hundred and eleven!" Nothing happens. "Why isn't the door opening?" She shoots up, goes over, and kicks the door in frustration.

Trey: "The answer is one hundred and twelve!" The doors open. "Yes!"

Lea: *She's stunned.* "How? I was right! I, I..."

Trey: "You forgot to add the donkey Beomoth was eating." He stuck his tongue out at her.

Lea: "You wouldn't even have your answer without me, so you better watch it mister!" She shakes her fist at him.

Trey: "What's that? I can't hear you over me being right!" He walks directly into a wall.

Lea: "Serves you right!" She too immediately walks into a wall.

They both exchange glances and burst out laughing as they return to the main room.

Trey: "I've got an idea! This time I wont touch random stuff so we don't get trapped in a math room." He smiles.

Lea: "I like that idea! Leave it all to me. I'll have us out in no time!" She says trying to act cool.

Lea walks over to a painting up against the center wall and pulls it. They both instantly appear at the top of the tower where a small ball inside of a cube is. It's shiny and looks important.

Lea: "Let's take it back as proof we beat the tower!"

Trey: "Good idea. Then we can brag about how cool we are!" His face gleams with pride.

Lea takes the cube-ball thing and as she does they're back outside. It dark out already but its also kinda...smokey?

Trey: "What's that smell?" He takes a deep inhale through his nose. "It smells like a bonfire and it's coming from the village...do you think they're throwing us a party?" He smirks, "It makes sense, since we're so great!"

Lea: *She smiles not fully convinced but hoping, "Yeah...they're just making the biggest bonfire for the coolest kids in town, wait...Adults, adults in town." She nods like a cool kid.

The two start back down the beautiful trail of greenery. The firepit is still unlit. After twenty silent minutes of walking, they were at the base of the mountain and are now at the town back gate, where they began.
