Chapter 1: The Shadows of the Underworld

The Wind of Aeons: The Seven Keys of Creation

The air inside the ancient subterranean catacombs was thick with the scent of damp stone and centuries of undisturbed dust. Elira held her magitech lantern high, its soft blue light cutting through the absolute darkness of the underground labyrinth. Her heart hammered against her ribs, not from fear, but from the raw excitement of a scholar on the verge of altering history.

For years, the Capital’s elite academics had dismissed her theories, calling her search for the primordial era a fool’s errand. But as her fingers brushed against the massive, obsidian doors buried deep beneath the earth, she knew she had won. Complex, geometric runes were carved into the stone, faintly glowing with a dying, violet light. These weren't the markings of the modern gods. These were the seals of the forces that came before.

"The myths are real," Elira whispered, her voice echoing softly down the damp corridor. "The Seven Keys of Creation... they weren't metaphors. They are actual artifacts."

"And they are protected by things that do not wish to be disturbed," a calm, deep voice replied from the shadows behind her.

Arion stepped forward into the blue light of the lantern. His expression was as steady as carved marble, his hand resting casually on the leather hilt of the massive claymore strapped to his back. He carried no armor, no family banner, and no memories of where he came from. Yet, beneath his weathered tunic, faint lines of pure, divine energy pulsed under his skin like liquid gold—a mysterious power he could neither explain nor completely control.

"The seals are cracking, Elira," Arion noted, his eyes locking onto the widening fractures in the ancient obsidian structure. "The old gods are stirring, and the dark entities sleeping in the cosmos are beginning to wake. We are not the only ones looking for these keys. The secret societies of the upper city are already deploying their elite huntsmen."

"Then we have to be faster," Elira said, dropping her pack and immediately setting up her tools to decipher the locking mechanism of the runes. "If the keys fall into the hands of the Cult of the Void, the cosmic prison holding the darkest primordial entity will shatter. The universe will burn, Arion."

Before Arion could answer, a low, guttural growl vibrated through the stone floor. From the darkness of the branching tunnels, glowing red eyes began to multiply. The ancient guardians of the catacombs, forgotten horrors twisted by primordial energy, were crawling out of their nests.

Arion drew his massive blade in one swift, silent motion. The golden lines under his skin flared brightly, channeling raw divine force into the steel edge of his sword.

"Decipher the seal, Elira," Arion said, stepping between the young archaeologist and the approaching monsters as his eyes locked onto the first beast. "I will handle the shadows."

With a deafening roar, the first monster lunged forward, and the battle for the fate of creation officially began in the deep.
