Chapter 44:

There you are

How to Survive as a "So-Called Killer"

His highness explained to me who the one that paralyzed his mind was. He told me it was definitely the heir of duke Blackwell while the one who gave him the command to do that was a woman. My blood related aunt Calista, it seems like you were even closer than I expected you to be.

How could I have expected something like that. His highness told me I should run far to the right, it was close to where Teiran and the others were fighting. It would take me more energy to go there, I was already feeling numbness coming from my chest, but the bleeding actually stopped, if I just had something to eat or a sweet drink I could feel a little more energized. But with this mess going on this was not possible.

“Master, are you fine?”

“Rusha, I already told you that you don’t have to worry”

“Still I feel like your energy is slowly fading away!”

“Really? You can feel things like that too? It’s just… if I had something that could raise my energy like some candy or a sweet drink, I feel like I would feel a lot better. I am so drained already. I am not sure how long I can hold out like this."

“Master, what about a cowslip primrose?”

“You mean that yellow flower? What about it?”

“Eat it!”

“You want me to do what?”

“You can eat it, that flower is edible!”

“Really? You mean it might help me? But it’s made out of my body. How would it work if I, as the source, am drained of energy?”

“You are special, remember, I am sure! It will work, just try it out!”

“Well, I can at least try huh?”

I tried to focus on the vision I have of the cowslip primrose and let just a single one spread on my fingertips and let it wither on the stem so it would separate from my body. Then I peeled off the petals and chewed on them. They actually tasted rather sweet like a fruit cocktail. I swallowed them. My body started to vibrate, it shook ferociously until I suddenly felt like I could see clearer. My blurry vision that started to emerge from time to time ever since I started losing blood became crystal clear. I could stand on my feet without swaying.

“Rusha remind me to give you a hug and cookies later!”

“It worked, didn't it? Mhm I feel it too. Your energy is overwhelming!"

“Thank you for always having my back!”

“Of course master! If it’s you, you will be able to do anything you desire!”

“I will take off now!”

“Take care.”

With the end of our conversation I let the vines spread from my back and created once more the wings that were rather energy consuming. However I was feeling far too refreshed, even though my chest still hurt, I couldn’t just lose more time. I flew at the speed of light towards the point the crown prince told me about. While flying there from the corner of my eye I watched Teiran who was still in a fight with a large group of the Black Obsidian.

They were far too huge of an organization. Why did they have so many members and stayed hidden for so long? I wondered but I had to focus on something else. I used my legs like a needle and crashed right into one man’s body who used weapon summoning magic, leaving him collapsed on the ground,

“Sorry, I still have to work on my landing!” I said.

“My lady, you are?” A woman in the crowd wondered.

“Oh me I am Sheryansha Chro- I mean soon to be Vermonde” I replied. Also I took off the mask that was tightened on my eyes until now at the sight of the wound on that woman’s hand.
“Wait a second let’s tie this around for now” I said while tightening the mask as a provisional compress on the woman.

She blushed.

She blushed?

Why?!

“T-thank you so much lady Vermonde!” She timidly said.

Oh, I see they didn’t expect the trash duke’s villainess daughter to help! Rather than the looks of contempt and disgust such an innocent reaction was rather refreshing to see!

“Your welcome young lady! But if you wouldn’t mind, would you step behind me!” I replied.

“Y-yes” she clenched her fists in excitement and stood right behind me.

“Also the other ladies, would you mind stepping behind me for now?” I asked while smiling slightly.

The ladies one after another came right behind me, however when a certain lady tried to move as well, trying to hide in the crowd, I stopped her.

“Not you, you should stay right where you are!” I replied to her.

“Why should I stand here while all the other ladies hide behind you?” She asked.

“You know that better than I, don’t you dear future crown princess or should I call you aunt Calista?”
