Fire dancing in darkness

Nothing. No, everything.

Everything can be heard. 

The cries of children, the pushing of people, the falling debris, the scorching fire.

One might consider this hell on earth. But we aren’t talking about earth.

“Ne…”

Voices drown in the chaos.

“Nela…”

A familiar voice.

“Nela!”

The young girl was awoken from her trance and was met with the beautiful, yet distracting eyes of what seems to be an adult woman. 

Her mother, maybe? 

Before the young girl could answer to the calling, she was pushed by the adult woman, down a cavity behind the girl.

She reached out her hand, but with each passing second, her distance only got wider and her sight only got narrower.

“Ah.”

The only sound the young girl could produce from her mouth in the chaotic display. Before she knew it her view was nothing but pure darkness.

The fire that was dancing in the darkness of the night, was no more. Alongside the screaming, debris, the corpses and all that filled her field of view.

It all just…

Vanished.
