Frustrations.

"We are gonna go check out another side of town, we went through like half of it in only a couple hours which is good.” Jonny walks in front of his desk and reaches around it to grab a stool and sets it in front of his desk, then he moves to go and sit behind it motioning for Carlos to sit.

“Say, I have a question.” Carlos looks at Jonny confused and sits down on the stool.

“Sure what's up?”

“So that scratch mark on your side, you didn't fight the bear in those woods right?” Carlos pauses looking at him.

“Yeah… i did” Jonny's eyes widened and he leaned forward a bit.

“You killed it right? Because when I was out there, there was no sign of it.”

“You didn't see it?” Jonny shakes his head and Carlos rubs the back of his neck.

“I almost died just for that thing to be alive” Jonny shakes his head looking at him just a tad bit more serious.

“I mean I didn't see it, that could mean it's dead.”

“Listen, that thing is a monster, it killed huge groups of people who are strong, beasts in the wild that are horrible to encounter, especially ones like that bear. He pretty much rules over those woods, it's a miracle that you survived or put it down.”

“I guess I'm lucky.” Carlos says and then immediately shakes his head.

“Hey, maybe it's because that bear killed all its competition already, then it just could've gone off to a new area.”

“Hmm?’ Carlos looks at the ceiling thinking but shakes once more, when he looks back at jonny and pauses not knowing what else to say. Jonny looks at him and a long awkward pause happens between them.

“Though the sea animals are way worse” Carlos perks up looking interested.


“Sea animals?”

“Yeah the ocean. You know?” Carlos shakes his head. Jonny clears his throat before continuing.

“Alright, The sea is the worst place you could go, people don't even dare to touch the sea because those monsters are on a completely different level. The only reason we are safe is because we are not in their domain and they can't level it. Don't ever even consider stepping foot in the sea. Only some who are as strong or even stronger than the Aegis Order can compete with those things.”

Carlos' face changes, as darkness washes over his face, now looking more serious than Jonny's ever even seen. The memories of their faces coming back to him, the numbers on their clothes, and what they did to his family.

“What do you know about the order? Tell me everything.” Carlos's tone is demanding as if leaving no room for discussion. Jonny looks completely taken aback by his sudden cold tone but it all clicks to him a face of understanding shows on his face, and Jonny starts to think.

“It makes sense now, why is he alone they knew but how did they know where they would be hiding?” Jonny thinks to himself then shakes his head snapping out of his own thoughts.

“Sorry, but jeez though what to start with. The Aegis order has direct ties with the world government, they work alongside them. The ten strongest mortals they could recruit and convince to work with them” Jonny's face darkens.

“They are all pathetic really, everyone praises them and loves them. The thing is, you can't even think of going against one. I got lucky. I know about them and who they run with and who they are run by. I wish i could spread the word like how i did before, in fact i even helped out with y-” he stops himself then shakes his head.

“Nevermind, they are horrible people, that's all you have to know. It's a corrupt part of the government that promises to protect us but they do more harm than good. They work with rich families, kings even, and use the funds they give them to support what they believe in and push their beliefs onto others and their bad ways to others who want to join them" Carlos' eyes widen

“Others?” Jonny nods

“The Aegis orders royals, the ones who couldn't pass but are strong enough to stand by their side and “help” them with combat. But it's really them who put in elbow grease even though both of them are horrible. No i take that back, all of them are horrible” he stands up peeking his head out to the door checking the store

“Theres things that they did that I can't tell you, especially Him,” Carlos looks at down at the floor, his hands clenched even harder fist

“Whos, Him?” Jonny looks down at Carlos “I can't say, that's for you to figure out” Carlos stands up angry grabbing Jonny by his shirt pushing him back slightly

“I said tell me everything!” Jonny looks surprised and also hurt

“I can't! this is something you need to figure out on your own when you decide to leave” Carlos shakes him a bit making him groan

“How do you know what choice I want to make! How do you know that if I want to go against the Aegis order, huh!” Jonny coughs badly making Carlos realize what he's doing and letting him go

“Im… sorry” he looks at Jonny who's kneeling a bit holding his chest. After a while he stops clearing his throat looking up at Carlos.

"I've been where you are, alone. You don't think after what I saw I learned I didn't want to help shut down and completely destroy the world government? But one man is never enough. I'm doing this for your own good because I don't have much time left. I see the anger in your eyes, I see the sadness, I've seen it all because I've been there before.” Carlo's eyes soften and he shakes his head

“You have no idea what I'm going through, you have no idea what they did to me, you have no idea what I've lost, what I want back.” Carlos clenches his fist.

“You won't ever be able to understand my pain! You won't ever be able to understand what I truly want in the world after what I’ve seen!” Jonny looks at him and nods his gaze showing that’s he’s calm

“I probably don't, but that's why I want you to talk to me so you can help me understand you” jonny's tone is soft and he sits back down on his chair

“Carlos, I lived way longer than you, life even though I make it seem good, you saw me break down. My life was as hard as anyone else's. I might not be able to understand your pain, but that doesn't mean I don't want to try and understand. I just want you to communicate to me about these things.” Carlos looks taken aback his throat starts to hurt his eyes show signs of tears, and he looks like he wants to say something but cant, and his response is taking a step back then running out the room rushing back to his own room closing the door leaving Jonny alone. He doesn't chase Carlos, he doesn't yell for him to come back he simply sighs and looks down

“I can see it, they really broke you down didn't they… I'm not gonna push it any longer for your sake. Whenever you're ready, I'll be waiting.” he looks down at the floor

“You have that fire in your eyes… exactly like your fathers”
