Carlos patiently waits wondering back at what Jonny said back in town.

“Things start getting bad then we are gonna step in ok, i feel something about that wolf. He’d be a great help” Carlos shakes his head walking outside and looks around and back at the town checking to see if anyone is following him or if anyone is coming over. A sudden crash noise is heard and Carlos snaps his head back at the store rushing inside, opening the door to the room, seeing the wolf boy looking stressed and in pain while Jonny has his hands in the air trying to seem harmless. The wolf's head snaps towards Carlos; he sits up more on guard then winces as he grits his teeth and clenches his fist.

“He's harmless,” Jonny says then follows up with “I just want to help you, you're badly wounded and I can help, please trust me” he nods as Jonny holds out the bowl of the healing mix he used on Carlos. The wolf looks skeptical looking between Jonny and Carlos.

“Ugh, Fine… it's only because I'm hurt, I also want this stupid “inc” group gone” he leans his head back touching the wall wincing again.

“You won't leave for a while, that guy broke your back. I'm shocked at how you're still able to move” the wolf chuckles and closes his eyes then opens them looking at Jonny. “Please, I hate to admit it, but I need help. I'll repay you someday” Jonny smirks and looks at Carlos “Why didn't you say that when I saved you "Carlos just stands there not knowing what to say but his eyes do show he wants to say more.

“Don't mind him, he's shy.” Jonny says, looking at the wolf.

“I can tell, what's with his stupid goggles?” The wolf says looking Carlos up and down sizing him up a bit and Carlos notices but stands his ground. A long pause happens with the both of them, the wolf is clearly sizing Carlos up and Carlos is just eyeing him. The wolf's ear twitches a bit then he sighs.

“Alright, my bad for asking then i guess.” Carlos looks confused but nods

“Sure, it's fine,” he says simply. Jonny brings a chair to the wolf's side of the bed.

“So then who are you?” Jonny asks.

“Zarek Racha” Zarek sounds slightly annoyed from everything but Carlos notices that Jonny's eyes widen a bit.

“Racha…” Jonny pauses looking surprised then goes back into and locks back in on his work, even scooting closer. Carlos notices his surprised expression but doesn't comment on it

“So then, why did you come to this town?” Jonny asks, pausing again, looking up at Zarek tilting his head.

“Why would I tell you? Just because you are helping me doesn't mean i have to give you my reasons for being here.” he sounds defensive but Carlos gives zarek a look and before he can speak Jonny speaks up.

“Yes you owe me and him we both worked together to save you from that lizard guy and Carlos carried you away, i don't have to do this” this surprises Carlos by his sudden tone but Zarek looks away groaning as Jonny puts the past over a cut.

“Damnit fine, and ease up seriously ill tell you.” Zarek says and sighs.

“It's nothing even crazy, all I wanted to do was get more supplies but these guys were pressing me over some "tax" and "visitors fee”. I tried stealing from them instead and they jumped me, beat me up and took me to their leader, someone named Quin.” Jonny looks at Zarek again.

“Yeah. Those guys have been taxing the townspeople like crazy, lying about protection from the beast from the outside but no one truly believes them.” Zarek nods he's relaxing at his understanding tone.

“Yeah…” its silence for a little bit then Jonny pulls back after treating most of his wounds “Listen i appreciate the help but-” he sits up and then gets off the be suppressing both of them.

“I really should head back out, I gotta steal my stuff back.” Jonny stands up shaking his head.

“No, you're still hurt, just let me give you some food or something first.”

“I said no i don't need it, like i said i appreciate it but i got stuff i wanna do.” he starts walking and Carlos steps blocking the exit with the door.

“Move.” Zarek says firmly with his fist clenching “Listen to the old man, you cannot go out there in your condition. You’ll end up dead.”

“So what? I'll die with the people here and others knowing I'm a strong person.” Zarek grabs Carlos shirt trying to push him away but Carlos catches his wrist and pulls it back.

“Let him help you, I would've died if it wasn't for him. And I can see it, you're hiding more than you let on” Zarek's eyes widen and he grits his teeth a long pause happening he looks like he wants to swing on Carlos. but annoyed he pulls his wrist free.

“Damn you people are so damn pushy, that's now how you survive. I'm gonna go back there and fight for my stuff” Carlos tilts his head.

“You just said you didn't care if you died?” Zarek rolls his eyes and takes a step back.


“Shut the fuck up” another pause happens he looks away form Carlos then back at him but then reluctantly he walks to the bed and sits back down.

“I'm only doing this because I have no other choice. Don't get it twisted” Carlos lets out a sigh and it's just silence for a while with the group. Jonny's already done with treating him, Carlos is just standing there and Zarek is sitting on the bed then lays down.

“Can I ask something?” Zarek's opens his eyes looking at Carlos.

“One more question that's all” “You said they did this to another town? Why did they come over here?” Zarek's eyes change and he sighs.

“It was a town that I was in and I was supposed to protect them. They did the same tax, and when the people ran out of money and stopped paying…” a pause happened and Zarek clutched the blanket looking down at his hands as he took a breath and after a couple seconds he spoke out

“People went missing… The people I cared about Carlos' eyes soften and he looks down at a long pause happening between them again as they can hear the slight pain in Zarek's tone.

“How long ago was this?” Jonny asks.

“That's two questions.” Jonny nods understanding

“Right, I'm sorry.” Jonny looks at Carlos and Carlos nods at him.

“I don't even know why I'm telling you both this” he chuckles and grits his teeth instead of sadness now its replaced by anger now he's clearly deep in thought Carlos thinks back to the helplessness he felt when his bloodline was killed who knows what those people did Zarek doesn't want to tell more but Carlos wants to ask Jonny notices and shakes his head looking at Carlos and Carlos catches it and nods looking at Jonny as they both stand up then Carlos leaves the room and Jonny following with him

“I'll bring you some food in a second.” Jonny says before leaving.

Carlos waits for him by his desk adjusting his goggles as Jonny stops looking at him, and Carlos looks at Jonny.


“Thanks for everything… with him here, I'm only gonna get in your way” Jonny's eyes widen but he looks at Carlos and nods

“No you wont” Carlos shakes his head “There's only one room. You should focus on him and not me anymore” Jonny sighs a hint of sadness in his eyes.

“At least visit or come by please?” his tone is almost pleading like he's been through this pain before

“Sure.” Carlos and Jonny stand there for a moment Carlos looks around the room clearly wanting to say more

“One more thing” Jonny speaks out and walks to his desk digging in it then pulling out a small book” A parting gift, it's one of my favorites" he holds it out to Carlos and Carlos takes it flipping through some pages. But he pauses for a second then looks at Jonny.

“I uhhh… don't know how to read.” Jonny looks surprised.

“You don't know how to read? How old are you again.” Carlos rubs the back of his neck sheepishly.

“I can figure it out.” he looks at the book with clear interest though and Jonny smiles Carlos walks to his bag which is set up nearby and grabs it looking inside it making sure stuff is in there and then puts the book inside turning to look back at Jonny a small smile almost playing on his lips but he holds it back

“Thanks…” he looks at Jonny he wants to say more but he cant bring it out but Jonny nods

“Come back tomorrow.” Carlos nods and opens the door, the sunlight hitting his face. He turns around, stopping himself for a second looking out at Jonny, then takes a deep breath and starts walking back into the woods.
