Chapter 20:
The director of the magic school is the new student, Susie Liam
Potions studies, where blue flames dance at the bottom of a cauldron and the smell of sulfur assails the nostrils. The gruesome history of white and black magic unfolds in a classroom filled with parchment dust. Herbalism studies, where students explore the roots of eerily pulsating bioluminescent plants with their bare hands in a greenhouse at night.
"Hey Susie, if you put that much in, the pot will explode!"
"That's fine, don't be stingy!"
Miranda grabbed Susie's arm, laughing. Next to her was Kevin, who was always cracking jokes. His mother must be an actress, because he had incredibly handsome features.
I also made some cheerful friends with whom I can laugh freely.
I was touched by the passion of these unconventional and unique teachers. I couldn't believe such a place existed...
Fulfilling days.
However, a constant swirl of doubt swirled deep within my heart.
—Why did I become the chairperson?
(Was it chosen for the "magic album"? Is that all?)
Adam said:
"We must absolutely obey the decisions of the demon world. That's why everyone will follow. There is no room for doubt."
Even so...
I haven't been taught anything about the job of the chairman of the board.
"Eventually, a suitable job will be given to you."
What kind of job would be right for me? It's been bothering me for ages, like a thorn in my throat.
I want to be of some help.
I wrote a letter to Principal Survival and gave it to him.
(But I haven't received any reply...)
The opportunity to uncover that truth came unexpectedly.
I received a private tea invitation from the principal.
"Mr. Chairman of our Enzyme Corporation, I will reply to your letter. I would like to speak with you in person if possible."
(That's great, I've always wanted to know.)
I opened the heavy mahogany door. The principal's office was filled with the mingled scents of cigars and strong herbs.
In front of him sat the crystal ball, resting on a golden cushion.
A crystal ball is reflected in my eyes.
"Principal, please teach me."
