"Hmm, whenever there's a conflict or fight somewhere, a tornado comes from there. I hated bullying the weak. My father was from a different ethnic group, and even though he was talented, he was relentlessly persecuted. I could never forgive that. I always wanted to defeat them with some kind of special power."

Susie rattled off rapidly, breathing heavily, and knelt on the floor. "Miranda has had talent from an early age. I'm sure this girl will become a capable sorceress too. And... she came to help me."

"What's wrong with that guy? He's the homeroom teacher, after all. Is he jealous again?"

"I got yelled at for trying to look at the documents."

"Why? The chairman has the authority, doesn't he?"

"...I'm just a name, you know."

Her heart was still beating rapidly. But it wasn't fear. As Susie stood up, her eyes shone brightly even in the darkness.

"I see... So allies... I just need to recruit wizards I know personally."

"What? A scout? Are you talking about me?"

"Miranda, you're going to be my ally. Number one!"
