Chapter 3:

The Theory of Something Terrifying

In this Wonderful World

Mia is a gaming geek. After We hanged out at Wacdonalds to get to know each other she revealed that she was in our class and was also very enthusiastic about Games, Anime and comics as well. Her favourite anime is Gogo's Bizarre adventure which is a hot topic in our school. "So basically what happens in Gogo's bizarre adventure was that Gohnathon Goestar managed to kill Rio but Rio survived?!", Ava exclaimed

"Exactly, the author decided to make Rio the antagonist in part 3 at Stonedust crusaders", explained Mia. Jeez, these two can talk about Gogo for the whole day. I can't believe she managed to get Ava hooked into anime. Mia is scary, I thought to myself. After we spent our time in Wacdonalds we decided to head out to do something else.

"So what do you guys think of doing next?", asked Ava

"How about that art museum which just opened up?", proposed, Mia

"Oh that's good, I've heard people talking about that this art museum was amazing!", exclaimed Ava. Then we started walking towards this newly built museum that everyone in Mulberry town was talking about. However, out of nowhere, I suddenly got a bit of dizziness and I had the tendency to puke. It was food poisoning. "D-Davis are you okay?", Ava seems concerned. "I-I don't know, I suddenly feel pukish"

"It must be the food that we ate", Mia speculated. She's right, it was the food, "Yeah your right it was the food we ate at Wacdonalds I should probably sit-"

Then suddenly both of them were gone...in fact, everyone around me was gone. "Down...um guys? where did you go?", At that instance, I started questioning my insanity. What the hell is happening, the first thing with Ava almost getting run over and now this...what is going on, I rhetorically asked. I wasn't expecting anyone to answer them. I might as well be going to some psychotic episode or maybe having an episode of schizophrenia.

Ring ring.

"A phone?", I turned in the direction of the sound and I saw a public phone ringing

Ring ring.

It sounded like taunts, it was jeering at me. Jeering that I am suffering from some mental breakdown. I approached it hesitantly...I was nervous if anything is about to happen next. I reluctantly picked up the ringing phone and put it up to my ear and

"E equals M...C...square", it was a girl's voice. For some reason, my mouth was melded shut. I wasn't meant to speak but listen. "It is said to be the theory...of relativity. Whereas Energy equals mass into the speed of light times two, when you travel at the speed of light, your mass is infinite, an equation which was invented by Albert Einstein. Einstein also stated that time is irrelevant because it is subjective to the one experiencing it", said the ominous voice. I was confused, what is she saying?, is what I thought to myself. "T̶̨̼̘̹͖̩̒͝͠͠h̸͍͆̋͆͋̕ȉ̵̪̊́͌̑̊̍s̶̙͒͛̍̀͗̈́͠͝ ̷̘̗̪̝͂̊̂̎̚̚͘͠i̴͍̺̯̺͕͚͉̎̾̏̃͋ͅs̵̢̰͈̻̣̻͒ ̸͍̥̳̺̖̻͊̈́̆͌̏͜͝͝ñ̸͓̬̦̋ǫ̷̙͖̉̇͊ṭ̷̖͙͚͔̜̽͆ ̴̛̣̞̫̺̠̫͂̃͂̈́̄̔̍t̵͓̲̼̞͓͖͊̅̃͐̉i̷͓̜͈̞͈͎̇͗͐̾̃̀̎̋m̸̬͖̖̣̎̌͒̌̀̚͜͠ͅe̵̯̥̞̮͉̳̪̔͜͝, it is an illusion created by your brain to give a second chance of redemption to redeem what you have lost in an instance", the voice didn't make sense and then I suddenly returned to the busy street again.

"Davis, are you alright? You were spacing out again. Should we go back?", I heard Ava's voice to my right. "N-no it's fine", I replied

"Okay then...if you need to head back, just tell me alright?", Ava said. Mia nodded as she agreed.

"I'm telling you, I'm fine"

"Hmm, if you say so..."

We arrived at the museum and we spent our time there. There wasn't much to go over, there was paintings, architecture and even history about artists. It is just a normal art museum. Although I had this ominous feeling that this building has something weird inside...but I think my mind is playing tricks on me again. That phone call was very creepy, what did she mean by E equals M and C square...sounds like some sort of equation, I boggled my mind to try finding answers although I couldn't find it.

It was evening already. "Well I should go back", said Mia. Mia lives in the neighbouring town, Clover Peak. It's right next to Mulberry town on foot, however, the Mulberry town train station helps solve that problem. So I walked with Mia to the train station as it was almost dead dark. "You had fun today?", Mia asked me

"Yeah that museum was amazing, those drawings and architecture were cool!"

"Haha, I'm glad you're okay now. The whole day you seemed worried about something, something's up?"

"Hmm, not really. I guess I am not getting enough sleep or maybe I'm just tired"

"Well, if you do have something on your mind. Tell me alright?", Mia said.

"Yeah for sure, thanks", I smiled at Mia and gave a thumbs up.

Then we continued our walk until we reached the station and we waited on the platform for Mia's train to arrive. Then suddenly as I was standing with Mia, she accidentally tripped on her foot standing and fell backwards bumping into a stranger and then went forwards. At the right of my eye, I saw this happening and-

I saw another death. Blood splattered along the train railings like a red scarlet carpet whilst it oozes slowly into the grass. Chunks of body organs were scattered along the railings. I turn to the train and it was painted fresh bright red as if it was a wall which lost its colour. The contents in my stomach started regurgitating out like pukish streams. This was horror. I need to save her, her, her, her. I NEED TO SAVE HER!

I snapped out of my trance and caught her hand and pulled her in, missing the train while losing strands of hair. Then as the train went past us, everyone disappeared again. I looked around in a daze. I was scared and that fear multiplied as I saw a girl, the same height as me standing on the opposite platform as me. She was wearing a black dress and had a veil on. Then as I blinked she appeared in front of me.

"Davis, you need to save them to escape this fictus mindus that you created", the girl...advised? Fictus mindus? what does that mean? my mind was racing with question after question. "You have to save them", the girl then put her hands and held my face. I blinked again and I appear to be in the station again. Although this time Mia didn't seem to look like she was terrified after being tripped. It was as if the scene restarted. Mia got on the train and we exchanged our goodbyes with each other. Fictus mindus...there was a book by that name.

Fictus Mindus was a web novel written by an author named Brian Gallon. It featured a protagonist stuck in a fake world which in the end was not a real world. The character committed mass genocide and killed everyone in the world. The book was never finished due to the author not feeling well at the time. It was on hiatus but people speculated that the author committed suicide. The whole premise of the show was about a character escaping a fake world but in actuality, he was suffering from a mental disorder due to a crash that killed his uncle and his parents.

"Is this world fake? Fictus mindus means in Latin, 'Fake world' or 'Fictitious world'. Maybe I'm thinking too much into this. I really need to sleep, what's the time?", I looked into my clock and it read 11:39. "It is late...wait", I glanced black at my clock and I realized that the hand is going at a faster pace...faster...faster...and faster. "Wh-what...why is the clock moving at high speeds is it broken?!", then suddenly it stopped at 12:56 and the glass shattered.

Suddenly water filled my room and I started drowning. "MMMPH!", I screamed. Confused, I swam to the door to escape and let the water out. However, as I opened the door. the water didn't even drain out. it remained in one place and I slowly and painfully drowned. As I close my eyes, I reopened them to see me sitting on my desk staring at the clock. "I-I should get to bed...", My voice faltered and I plopped onto bed. I went into a deep slumber not knowing what will happen tomorrow or how to make sense of this confusion...
