WarHead: Forced to Engineer the Apocalypse. Volume one.
Azura jumped over a golem and brought down her scythe on Stheno.
"Ahhhh! Die!"
Stheno raised her talon blade to block the attack. Then jumped back away from Azura.
With her other hand covered in chains, she raised it to summon another golem.
But Azura was too quick.
She weaved underneath the legs of the golem before it was fully formed and rushed her mother again.
Stheno raised her talon blade to block the attack once again but Azura set it flying instead.
"Now! Die!"
Two guards jumped in Azura's way. And as they did Azura twisted her hips and spun the scythe around herself.
The headless bodies of the guard falling to the floor.
Stheno picked up a blade off of one of the corpses and threw it at Azura before she could reach the ground.
Azura whiped her head at the blade and set it flying as she landed on her feet.
Stheno casually picked up another blade off of one of the corpses.
"You don't know when to give up do you?"
Azura spoke hard taking deep breaths in between every sentence.
"You're golems... are getting slower.. my attacks... Are reaching you..."
"Please listen to yourself, you can barely breathe. Are you so intent to die for this tiny little nation that could barely hold off the fourth!?"
"This nation... took me in..."
"And has hated you for it. You're strong enough to stand high amoung demons, none would question you're blood when you have power like that!"
"Shut.. up!!! You killed my Dad!!"
"So what? Weakling die a day? How many did you kill just to reach...
Before Stheno could finish her sentence, an explosion tore the sky apart. The sound silenced the whole battlefield.
A pilller of flames shot out from the Airship's and thought its balloon. The fire was so strong and so bright lit up the shadows of the sun and cast its own in the sun's place.
Azura watched with wide eyes as it began to fall to the earth.
"Huh look at that. I don't know who took it out but I'm glad one of these useless demons did something with their talentless lives."
Stheno noticed Azura's face of horror as the ship was falling.
The Airship was rocking back and forth violently as it fell. An unnatural movement on its way down that only scared Azura more as she watched. Unable to take her eye off of it.
"What's wrong? Was something you care about on that ship?"
Azura didn't say anything.
"Did you hear me girl? Your mother is talking to you! Answer me!"
The ship continued to rock violently, right until before it crashed on the ground, it spun upside down.
The balloon collided with red Plateau first. Bouncing for a second before it bursted like a bubble filled with burning hot gas.
The sounding demons evaporated into flames as the burning Phoenix layed with its belly up.
"Azura! Answer me!"
Azura didn't answer, she didn't say a word.
Instead she ran straight for the Airship at full speed. Purple lightning arching off her body to make her muscles move faster.
"That ungrateful child!"
The demon guard began to chase after Azura.
"Stop!"
Everyone froze at Stheno as Azura ran pass them.
"Ummm General...the enemy general is..."
"Hush. What's the status."
"Down to forty percent. All our Kilorean Crabs and Ironback riders are gone. Only a few Helldrakes riders remain."
"Did we even break the wall?
"...No General, but we did take out 3 of their heavy rail cannons. We can still take it!"
"Enough! This is why no one but the Fourth Company takes you useless and talentless demons. Send half of what we have left to wipe out the airships."
Stheno turned around and began walking away, her guards in tow.
"Next time, we'll bring four times as many... Also have someone check in on our contact. Make sure they're still alive. And find out why they were wrong about the Rail cannons range and fire rate."
. . .
An explosion tore the sky apart. A pilller of flames shot out from the Airship. A fire so bright that it shadows replace the Suns
"GERALTAVIN PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF THE GODS TELL ME THAT WAS X01!"
"NO! THAT WAS THERMITE! WHO BRINGS THAT MUCH THERMITE INTO A SHIP!"
Geraltavin and Johnaquil watched with wide eyes as it began to fall to the earth, rocking violently, right until before it crashed on the ground and spun upside down.
“OUTER CANNONS! PROTECT THE AIRSHIP! INNER CANNONS! CLEAR A PATH FOR THE CLERICS!"
The respective commanding officers repeated the orders down the line in a cascade of call outs that rolled from tower to tower like an echo made of human throats.
“Outer Cannons! Protect The Airship! Inner Cannons! Clear A Path For The Clerics!”
“…outer cannons… protect the airship… inner cannons… clear a path for the clerics…”
The remaining Artilery cannons begin firing per Geraltavin command.
Geraltavin then immediately began climbing down the castle wall. Bunker Hammer against his back
"Where are you going?"
"To go protect Marcellia and yer other Clerics. I can't send them outside the wall and not help them."
"What am I supposed to do?"
"Command the heavy rail cannons, they yer responsibility now."
The drawf the begin running towards the outer walls.
"I am a treasurer!? How did I get left with all this!?"
