The fabric of reality is saturated by an all-permeating, invisible tide called Mana. In its dormant state, it rests within a hidden realm of infinite possibilities, linked directly to the fundamental spark of physical substance. Where this energy thickens, the very laws and weight of matter bend. When the tide rests in its low-energy state, its hidden symmetry breaks, giving birth to three mass-bearing ghost-particles known as Aetherons that carry magical forces across short distances. In the physical realm, all things eventually decay: hot tea grows cold, and stone crumbles to dust. Mana defies this curse by forcing negative entropy into the local environment.
