Chapter 5:

Oneshot - Meeting A Magical Girl

Yo.

I wanna say thanks to those who read this oneshot till the end. And even if you didn’t read it till the end, I’ll still say my thanks–cuz you still read this part.

The reason I wrote this one-shot was to test on some experimental writing style. I realized writing out stories where even I myself wouldn’t wanna read would just be crap anyway. So I changed my strategy, and paused the other series (Automata Patrol Squad), and focused on doing this one-shot.

Before, I would just write my story in a pantser style(discovery writing), but I quickly realized how without a proper foundation, my characters, plot, and backstory felt too loose and unstable. And also, I was trying too hard on ‘following the correct way of writing’ without even caring how the story sounded on the tongue.

For this one-shot, the first three chapters were me trying too hard on following a strict rule. But then I realized, “Wait, would I be happy to read a light novel or web novel in this western novel-style?” And the answer to that was definitely no, (not that I’m saying the western-novel style was bad, I just prefer the amateur and straightforward kind of writing). So in the end–for chapter 4–I decided to just write. I don’t care if I didn't “Show, Don’t Tell”, I don't care if I didn’t tighten my prose, I don’t care if I just using weak adverbs, I don't care if I used too much linking words; In the end, I like how I just write what’s on my mind. It felt more natural. More closer to the kind of writing I'm fond of.

But, just saying that would make me sound way too selfish, right? I also needed to make sure my writing was able to deliver my story to others, so it shouldn’t just be a “Me write, me happy” as is. So that’s why I’m writing this after-words. If you(the reader) had anything to say about this one-shot; like confusion on certain parts, or the problem with too boring/accelerated pacing, then feel free to leave your opinion on this one-shot comment section. And no, you don’t need to be gentle with your words, just slap me with harsh complaints or comments. Yes, I might sob and cry, but this too will be a lesson for my writing in the future.

Again, I’ll say my thanks for reading till this end, and I apologize for wasting your time on this poorly experimental writing/story of mine.

That’s all from me, have a good day.
