After Ray Palmer and Heat Wave were taken out, Damon dragged the nearby blackboard in front of Martin Stein.
"The Firestorm formula. Write it down."
Martin Stein froze.
"You truly want me to write it?"
Damon patted his shoulder and smiled.
"Write it. Once you finish, you can leave."
"You should know what will happen if they obtain the Firestorm formula," Martin said grimly.
Damon nodded.
"You should also know that I am more frightening than he is."
Was Vandal Savage frightening? Of course.
But Damon was not merely frightening. He inspired despair, especially after obtaining a time ship.
Martin's expression changed again and again. Finally, in despair, he picked up the chalk and began writing on the blackboard.
"This is it."
Valentina became excited as she watched Martin finish.
"I have never seen an equation this concise and perfect. But... it still feels as if something is missing."
Martin remained silent, guilty.
"It is impressive," Damon said with a sigh and a nod. With his current knowledge, if he had to complete that equation himself, it would take at least ten years. "You really are a genius."
"No. Something is still missing."
The more Valentina looked, the more something felt wrong.
"Take him outside, then wait for me in the laboratory," Damon told Valentina.
Valentina froze.
"You know what is missing?"
"Of course."
"Fine."
Valentina nodded.
"No."
Vandal Savage looked at Damon and snorted.
"You released all of them, yet you still have not told me the final piece of the equation. What if you refuse? He stays until Firestorm is successfully created."
"So you are refusing me now?" Damon narrowed his eyes at Vandal.
Vandal said coldly, "I have given you more than enough. Not this time."
"Then die."
Damon attacked as he spoke. Electricity shot from his fingertip.
Bang.
The current struck Vandal Savage, but Vandal was completely unharmed.
"What do you think I have been doing all this time?"
Vandal opened his coat smugly. Beneath it, he was wearing a special insulated suit.
"I prepared this especially for you. Even a current several times stronger than before will not harm me."
Damon gave a soft, "Oh," then looked at Vandal with a troubled expression.
"You are making things difficult for me."
"No, not difficult at all. As long as you help me create Firestorm successfully, I will release the old man."
Vandal shook his head proudly.
Damon thought for a moment, then slowly raised both hands.
"Which side do you choose?"
"What does that mean?"
Vandal stared blankly.
"Choose one."
Damon did not explain, only pressed him.
What trick was he playing now?
Vandal looked at Damon suspiciously and answered casually, "The left."
"The left? All right."
Damon lowered his right hand and pointed his left at Vandal Savage.
"Ten million volts."
Boom.
A giant serpent of lightning burst out and swallowed Vandal whole.
Within the crackling electricity, the insulated suit exploded almost instantly. A few seconds later, Vandal slowly collapsed, his body burned like charcoal and giving off a thick scorched smell.
"Several times stronger? My current has no ceiling."
Damon shook his head, erased the Firestorm Matrix from the blackboard, and looked at the stunned Valentina and Martin Stein.
"What are you standing there for? Move."
After a moment of hesitation, Valentina took Martin Stein and left.
They returned from the interrogation room to Damon's room and found Lilah packing. Laurie stood silently at one side.
"Master, the things will be ready soon," Lilah said, turning back.
Damon smiled.
"You are satisfying me more and more. I did not even say anything, and you already knew what to do. The Disciple is on the roof. Take the things there and wait for me."
"Are you going to help Valentina become Firestorm?"
Lilah hesitated.
"Firestorm needs two people to succeed, correct? Who is the other person?"
"Why? Do you have an idea?"
Damon looked at Lilah with a half-smile.
Lilah gathered her courage and nodded.
Lilah and Valentina?
A female Firestorm did not sound bad. The only question was whose body would serve as the host. Or perhaps they could take turns.
"After you deliver the things, come to the laboratory."
Damon spoke and turned away.
"Yes!"
Lilah shouted in excitement, then looked at the numb Laurie.
"What are you standing there for? Help me carry the things."
Valentina led Martin Stein out of the camp, then hurried to the laboratory. She reset the equation, adjusted the reactor, and turned to Damon as he walked over.
"Tell me. What is missing?"
"A partner," Damon said lightly.
"A partner?"
Valentina froze, then abruptly understood.
"So that is it. Two people. Firestorm is two people. Only then can the energy stabilize. Are you going to merge with me?"
Damon shook his head slightly and looked toward Lilah, who was running over.
"Your partner is here."
"Lilah? No wonder... so it was her."
Valentina suddenly understood.
The moment Lilah arrived, Valentina eagerly pulled her into the experimental chamber that housed the reactor. The power was adjusted to maximum, and the red-hot core inside the reactor began to glow. The two women touched the reactor while touching each other.
Boom.
A scorching wave of fire instantly filled the chamber.
The door slowly opened.
Valentina walked out with flames burning around her.
A female Firestorm had succeeded.
"Wonderful. This power is wonderful."
Valentina spoke in excitement.
"Enough. I will find a place for you to enjoy it later. Right now, it is time to leave," Damon said casually.
"Leave? No. I will not leave. I will help my country defeat the United States."
Valentina finished speaking and arrogantly fired a blast of flame at Damon.
Bang.
The flame struck Damon and instantly burned, seemingly swallowing him.
"No!"
She suddenly shouted. The fire went out at once, and in the next instant Firestorm split back into Valentina and Lilah.
"Master!"
Lilah cried out and was about to run over when the flames on Damon's body changed.
The fire slowly contracted, gathering around his hands and head. His eyes glowed red, making him look like a demon that had crawled out of hell.
"Fire... Firestorm? How can you become Firestorm alone?"
Valentina cried out in shock.
