Chapter 39:
A Journey of True Love Under a Cherry Tree
It has been a few hours since they left port and headed to the next port. Since they had time to relax, they all begin to think about if they made the right decision to come with her and risk their own lives in order for her to complete her quest.
Silva continues to be unconscious and there is still no change. Terrance has not left her side hoping she will wake up soon. As for Scout, she is still sleeping, but no change in her either.
Seeing Terrance has not slept for hours, Rufus volunteers to watch over them.
After another hour went by, Silva finally woke up.
“Oh, good morning sleeping beauty,” Rufus said kindly, getting up.
“What happened? Where is Terrance? Why does my head feel like it is going to explode?” Silva asks.
“I will say this Raquel sure knows her stuff. Anyways, we were able to get Scout out of the safe house and onto the ship you managed to get for us. Also, Lord Julian’s goons manage to track us here, which is not a surprise. Then for once in your life you were able to use your magic to create some cover for us to escape which explains your headache. You sure can throw a punch. Ever since then, you have been asleep, Terrance has not left your side. He sure loves you,” Rufus explained in detail.
“That is good to hear, so where are we right now?” she asked.
“We are currently sailing at a slow pace, so we don’t catch unwanted attention. Also, Gilda told us we should arrive at Serenity tomorrow morning,” Rufus explained.
“That is good, but how is Scout?” Silva asked.
“I am not sure. I just came to check in on you. I believe your girls are watching her,” Rufus explains.
“Do you think you can help me get dressed? Promise me you will not peek,” Silva said getting up.
“Sure, I can do that, it will be my pleasure,” Rufus said, helping her up.
As Rufus was helping her to the changing room, there was a knock on the door.
“Who is it?” Silva asked.
“It is me, Gilda, can I please come in?” Gilda asked.
“Rufus please get the door,” Silva said as she was changing in the bathroom.
“Sure,” Rufus said, getting to the door.
“I am glad you are awake. How are you?” Gilda said, taking a seat.
“I have a huge headache, but I will be fine. How is Scout?” Silva asked.
“Well, her fever broke and now in stable condition, but she is still asleep. I can tell she is still depressed over what is going on. I do know when she will wake up soon,” Gilda explained.
“Right, I think I will go visit her,” Silva said kindly.
“Silva, you really ought to rest for a little while longer, you used a little too much magic and your body still needs to recover,” Gilda suggests.
“Thank you for your concern, but I am not going to sit here while my friend is in the other room fighting for her life. Come on Rufus let’s go see Scout,” Silva said storming out of the room.
“Sure, whatever you say,” Rufus said following close behind.
“Silva, honestly,” Gilda said frustrated.
Silva and Rufus leave the room with Silva still a bit angry.
“I forgot how fierce you are when you are angry. I wish we were still dating, so I can enjoy your anger in bed,” Rufus said a bit flirting.
“Right, try not to tell anyone about our intimate moments or I will kill you,” Silva warns.
“I promise, if you give me something in return,” Rufus said as he continued flirting.
“How about a kiss on the cheek?” Silva offered.
“Done,” Rufus said, accepting the offer.
“There,” Silva said, giving him a kiss on the cheek and dreamily.
“Thank you,” Rufus said, touching the spot she kissed.
“Right, let’s go inside,” Silva said as she opened the door to Scout's room.
Once inside Scout’s room, it seems everyone is there waking for Scout to wake up.
“Mommy!” Greer and Grace shouted at Silva.
“Girls, I am glad you are ok,” she said, hugging the girls.
“Silva, how are you?” Terrance asked.
“I am fine, my head still hurts, but I can handle it,” Silva explained.
“Good to hear you are feeling better,” Seth said kindly.
“Yes, well, just be thankful nothing serious happened,” Silva said kindly.
“Yes, we are glad you are safe. But what about Scout? I am beginning to worry about her,” Raquel said kindly.
“What should we do? Lisa said, getting a little impatient.
“Well, we have to wait until Scout wakes up. After that we continue to head for my guild and stay there until we come up with a plan. Besides, i doubt there are any guilds around Serenity,” Silva advises.
“Acutally, there is one in Serenity Wind City. It seems to be new. We can investigate and hide there for now,” Seth suggested reading his map.
“Let’s do that. I need to do some shopping while we are there,” Lisa said excitedly.
“Right, are you all in?” Silva asked.
“Yes!” everyone agreed.
“What is all this noise?” Scout said waking up.
“Scout!” Everyone shouted running to her bed side.
“Hey, let her breathe,” Rufus said kindly.
“Scout, I know you went through many hardships to help us, but are you willing to tell us what happened?” Silva asks, getting straight to the point.
“I am not sure how to explain what I saw, but it was awful. As you know Julius wanted to find out more about Lord Julian. We travelled around for months to gather information. We followed every lead we could. Most of them lead to a dead end and we were going to give up until we finally found one that led us to Lord Julian. We followed him to his castle and we heard his plans that involved you. We were about to escape, but he captured us. I was able to escape since Julius gave himself up for me. Now he keeps Julius prisoner and I am not sure how he is doing. I am having a bad feeling about it,”
“What did you find out, Scout?” Silva asked.
“He knows….,” Scout vaguely said before fainting again.
“What did she mean by that?” Lisa asked.
“If you excuse me,” Silva said, excusing herself from the room.
“What is wrong with her?” Raquel asked.
“I will go and see, please stay here with Scout,” Terrance said kindly as he left the room.
Silva made her way to the front of the ship where Gilda was and decided to chat with her.
“Hey, Gilda.”
“Oh, hey, Silva, is something wrong? You seem nervous.”
“It is nothing. I wanted to say thank you for taking us on your ship and I apologize about the way I threatened you to get this ride.”
“It is not a problem, I forgive you and besides I get to help the great Silva of the Desert.”
“Yes, this sure brings back memories.”
“I remember this one time, you came to the hospital covered in blood. We could not stop the bleeding and you were running around the hospital punching out the doctors until we finally got you with a stun dart.”
“Yeah, that sure was funny, yeah and I would only allow you to treat me because you did not ask questions.”
“You were an unusual patient. Always covered in blood and hate doctors. I thought it was better to treat you rather than asking questions.”
“Yeah, thanks for everything.”
“Ha-ha.”
“Well, it seems you two are having fun,” Terrance said, coming closer to join them.
“Yes, we were just remembering something from the past. It seems you are in good hands, so I will leave you two alone,” please excuse me,” Gilda said walking away.
Silva and Terrance were alone again, only this time something was upsetting her.
“Silva, are you alright? You left quite fast after Scout said, “He knows?” Are you going to tell me what that was about?” Terrance asked worriedly.
“Terrance, he knows I have goddess magic,” Silva said.
“How would he know? Terrance asked.
“I do not know. I know no one outside the family knew about this and a few others I trusted like the Guild King.”
“Maybe the Guild King told him about your magic, he is after all his nephew.”
“I am not sure. This secret was told by a sacred oath and whoever betrays the oath, they will die as a punishment.”
“Silva, you will be fine. You have me to protect you,” Terrance reassured her as he hugged her close.
“Thank you Terrance, but you do not understand. Lord Julian will stop at nothing to get all the magic he wants. He has that type of magic,” Silva explains.
“What do you mean?”
“Lord Julian has this magical ability called Neutralization. It is a type of magic where he can steal magic from anyone no matter how powerful it is. I only heard rumors about it.”
“Yes, well, you forget, as your Goddess Protector, I will not let any danger come to you,” Terrance declares as he kisses her rosy lips.
“Thank you. The only thing I feel horrible about, is dragging my friends and my daughters into this,” Silva said crying into his chest.
“We don’t mind mommy, we love being here with you,” Grace said, running up to Silva.
“Yeah, mommy, we will do whatever we can to protect you, we love you,” Greer said walking up to Silva.
“The same goes for us,” Rufus said, coming with the others.
“You guys….,” Silva said in tears.
“Silva, you should learn by now that you cannot get rid of us that easily. We are here for the long run. As painful for me to say this, but we love you no matter what crazy scheme you drag us in,” Raquel confessed blushing.
“Silva, you are my best friend and guild mate, so that makes us family and family sticks together,” Lisa said, hugging Silva.
“Besides I will always be here to protect your hot body,” Rufus said flirting.
“My lady, I will always protect you until the day I die,” Seth declared.
“Yes, I am the same, you have always been my little girl always needing protection and I will always provide it,” Rajah said kindly.
“Ditto,” Simon said, chiming in.
“You guys are amazing, thank you,” Silva said, covered in tears.
“Now that we establish we are a team until the end, we should get some sleep before we arrive in the city,” Raquel ordered, sending everyone down below.
“Right, see you in the morning, I am going to stay up here,” Silva said kindly.
“Ok, see you later,” Raquel said, leaving Silva alone with Terrance again.
“Terrance, you should get some sleep too, I will be fine here,” Silva suggested.
“No, I think I will stay here with you, the breeze is nice and we can have some alone time together,” Terrance said, wrapping his arms around Silva.
“Sure that seems nice,” Silva said kindly.
As the night started to grow colder and darker, Silva and Terrance fell asleep in each other’s arms as if nothing had changed between them. Early next morning, the sun shined brightly in the sky which woke up our two love birds.
“Good morning, sunshine,” Terrance said kindly brushing her hair.
“Wow, I think that has been the best sleep I have had in a long time,” Silva said, flirting.
“Oh good you two are awake, we will be docking soon,” Gilda announced.
“Oh, ok, thanks a lot,” Silva said kindly.
“Yeah, I better go and check up on the others,” Terrance said kindly as he walked off.
“Finally, I can get to grooming,” Silva whispered as she was fixing her hair.
Half an hour later, the others arrived on deck while the ship is getting ready to dock.
“This sure has been an interesting trip,” Raquel points out coming with the girls.
“What do you mean?” Silva asks.
“Well, it seems you are back together with your boyfriend that you supposedly tried to avoid. Scout is here without the boy she loves. Your friends will fight for you until death. Now to complete this journey is defeating a powerful power hungry jackass,” Raquel puts it in perspective.
“Whoa, watch your language around my girls,” Silva said, annoyed.
“They have heard worse,” Raquel mockingly said.
“I want to get this over with and kill Lord Julian,” Silva said, pissed off.
“Right, and I will be right there with you,” Raquel said kindly.
“Good, now let’s get off this ship. I am starving,” Silva said kindly.
Ten minutes later, the ship finally docked and it was time to say farewell to her old friend.
“Gilda, thank you so much for everything you did for us and for Scout,” Silva said.
“It is my pleasure. I am glad Scout is feeling better and ready to travel, but if she does start feeling sick again, give her this medicine for a month. If you run out, contact me and I will mail and teleport it to you,” Gilda said, handing over a few bottles to Silva.
“Thank you, I will,” Silva said kindly.
“No problem, you should get going, your friends are waiting,” Gilda said kindly.
“Yes, thank you again,” Silva said as she exited the boat to meet her friends.
“So, Silva, what should we do here?” Raquel asked.
“Well, I say we stay here for a few days before heading to our guilds, besides Scout needs to rest a bit more before a long journey,” Silva suggested.
“That is a good idea, I need to shop and dine on fine cuisine,” Lisa said excitedly.
“Ok, then, let’s get moving,” Rufus said kindly.
As they got off the port, they went to the main gate to present their visiting passes and headed inside the city.
“Ok, we better head to the guild office first, to get some rest, I am feeling a bit tired,” Silva suggested.
“Ok, I will see you later,” Lisa said as she ran inside the first store she saw.
“Ok, so how about we head to the office and check in,” Seth suggested.
“Yeah good idea,” Silva said kindly.
After an hour touring the city, most of the gang went their separate ways. Silva, Seth, Scout, Simon, Rajah, and Rufus headed to the Guild office to get a few rooms for their stay.
“Hello. Welcome to Serenity Wind Port City, my name is Hillary, how can I help you?”
“Yes, we would like six rooms to stay for a few days,” Silva explained.
“Yes, of course we have rooms available for you and your party, please hand me your ID, so I can make the reservations,” Hillary said kindly.
“Yes, of course, here you go,” Silva said, handing over her id.
“Well, since that is done, should we get a drink?” Rufus suggested.
“Sure, I need a drink,” Silva said, agreeing.
“Your rooms are ready, you can check in anytime,” Hillary said, handing over the keys.
“Yes, thank you, so let’s go guys,” Silva said walking out the door.
Meanwhile, Lisa was shopping like crazy until she was covered with shopping bags all over her arms. “Wow this sure is amazing, can’t wait to see…, hold up who are you guys?” Lisa said as she was surprised she was surrounded. Lisa soon began attacking them, but this time, it seemed they were ready for her because they paralyzed her with a syringe.
On the other side of the city, Raquel took the girls to a candy shop, a book store, and a toy store which seemed to make the girls happy.
“Alright ladies, let’s head back to the guild office before we get a little carried away,” Raquel ordered.
“What are we going to do with them?” Grace asked, pointing to the scary looking men.
“What do you mean? Girls stay behind me, I will take care of them,” Raquel said charging in.
“But we can help, come on Grace, let’s fight,” Greer said, taking out a book and starting chanting spells with the help of Grace.
It seemed to be working until a hooded figure came blocking all of their spells and casting a sleeping spell on the girls. Raquel lost her only chance to win once she saw the girls asleep, so she had no choice, but to give up. She went quietly with the criminals with the girls close behind.
At the bar, Silva and her friends were having a fun time drinking.
“Man, that sure was some good drinking,” Silva said as she left the bar with her friends.
“Yeah, that was good,” Rufus said in an agreement.
“My lady you should have slowed down after that last round, now you can barely even walk, let alone fight,” Seth said, expressing his concern.
“Oh, come on, Seth, I am fine, I've been drunker than this, so don’t worry too much about it,” Silva said a little wobbly.
“Yeah, that sure was a lot of drinking,” Scout teased.
“Yes, well, we better go find the others, it seems they are late,” Simon suggested.
“Good idea they don’t know this city as I do,” Silva suggested.
“Good plan, but I think we have to wait on that, we have uninvited guests to take care of first,” Rufus said, sensing something unfriendly.
“Crap, I am in no shape to fight,” Silva said a little buzzed.
“Right, we will take care of this, please stay away,” Seth said as he went straight to fight.
“Yeah, wait for us man,” Rufus said charging in with Rajah, Scout and Simon.
The boys charged in managing to hold off the others, but more and more of these thugs appeared which became a little too much for them to handle, since they were buzzed. The only thing they can do is surrender, which they did. The thugs escorted them to a strange part of the city and Silva saw her friends captured as well and was confused on what was going on.
“What did you do with my friends and why did you bring us here? Answer me,” Silva asked, trying to get some answers.
“Well, it seems we will meet again,” a familiar voice said as he turned around.
