If you live inside other people's eyes, you will lose yourself on your own path.

That was why Damon did not care how others saw him. Even if they called him insane, he admitted it when he was in a good mood and threw it back at them when he was not. He only did what he wanted to do.

But eating people?

That was absolutely not on his list of things he would do.

It was the same as being unable to accept another person using a woman he had grown tired of. If Damon were truly without limits and did whatever he pleased, why would he go to the trouble of forming the Birds of Prey? Why would he remind Laurie that he was leaving?

Though the process had been quite interesting.

"I will pass on eating people. Remember the condition you agreed to."

Damon reached out to help Diana up, then glanced at the twitching First Born.

"Damn, he really can take a beating. Even twice his own strength did not kill him."

Diana did not look at the First Born. Instead, she looked at Lennox's severed head and softly called his name in grief.

"Do not be too sad."

Damon gave her a quiet comfort and gently rested a hand on her shoulder, drawing her into his arms.

Diana did not refuse. After separating from Damon, too much had happened. Even someone as strong as her was close to being unable to endure it.

"Life is like this. There is joy, and there are tears."

Damon patted Diana's back and spoke in a deep voice.

"Some people are mainly responsible for the joy. Other people are mainly responsible for the tears."

"You bastard."

Diana, who had been sinking into the comfort, instantly realized something was wrong with that sentence and shoved Damon away in anger.

Damon shrugged and pointed at the First Born.

"What do we do with him? Kill him?"

Diana hesitated.

By logic, they should kill the First Born and resolve the crisis of the gods once and for all. But he was still...

"Hand him to me."

A voice suddenly sounded nearby. A man in a suit, his skin purple, walked over with a smile.

"He is Apollo, the sun god. He has become the new king of the gods."

Diana could not keep arguing with Damon and explained in a low voice.

"Handing the First Born to him may be... a good idea."

"Are you sure you want him?"

Damon narrowed his eyes at Apollo.

"I am now the lord of Olympus. I believe I have the right to deal with him. Of course, I do not wish to make enemies of you. Perhaps you can state a condition?"

Apollo smiled.

"He is yours."

Damon waved his hand, then emphasized, "But remember. You are the one who wanted him."

"Of course."

Apollo's purple face showed an even brighter smile. He nodded gratefully to Damon and Diana, then picked up the First Born and disappeared.

"No one can save a man determined to court disaster."

Damon chuckled and happened to see Firestorm flying back from the distance.

Firestorm landed.

The state ended, splitting Lilah and Valentina apart.

They looked at each other and snorted in dissatisfaction.

"You disagreed, so Cassandra escaped?" Damon asked with a smile.

"Yes," Lilah answered softly.

"Fine. Let us leave here first."

Damon leaped back onto the Disciple. Lilah and Valentina were unhappy with each other, but they could only merge and fly over.

Diana turned, handed Lennox's head to Hera, then held Hera and Zola as she prepared to follow.

"Wait. Are we going with him? Is it... safe?" Zola asked quickly.

"If he is willing, there is probably no safer place than beside him."

Diana spoke, then jumped across with them.

Inside the Disciple, Zola held the child and looked around the ship curiously. Hera remained calm. She had, after all, once been queen of the gods. Lilah and Diana chatted, each telling the other what had happened after they parted. Valentina and Laurie stood silently to one side, one furious and unwilling, the other shocked and lost.

Damon tinkered with the Disciple.

This was where studying showed its value. Electronic engineering had a wide range of applications. He might not know how to repair everything, but at least he could understand the basic operating principles. After checking the ship, Damon started the Disciple.

It slowly backed up, entered stealth mode, and then rose into the air.

"Lucky. Aside from the defensive barrier and some external hull damage, nothing serious."

Damon turned with relief.

"Do you have somewhere to stay?"

"Yes."

Zola quickly gave an address.

After a while, the Disciple slowly landed beside a farm in the suburbs.

"This is my home. I lived here before... before everything happened. I do not think anyone will find this place for now."

Zola explained, and everyone left the ship and entered the farm.

The farm was not very large, but the environment was quiet and pleasant.

Damon walked around once, lost interest, and returned to the Disciple's dining area.

He opened a bottle of wine and drank as his thoughts gradually wandered.

The people who attacked the Disciple were most likely sent by the Time Masters' council. First, the way he saved the Legends counted as changing history. Second, the Time Masters' council and Vandal Savage were in league with each other, and after Damon toyed with them, they would naturally want revenge.

Unfortunately, they had targeted the Disciple instead of Damon himself. Not copying any ability from them was a bit of a pity.

"My next target should be the Flash. Since I can travel through time, there is no need to wait around. I can go straight to the era when he becomes the Flash and copy the Speed Force. Then, if the Disciple gets attacked again and cannot travel through time, I will not have to worry about being stranded."

"So you can copy other people's powers? Including divine power?"

Diana's voice sounded from the doorway.

Damon looked up and smiled.

"Why are you here?"

"To talk about what happens next."

Diana walked to Damon's side and was about to sit down, but Damon caught her wrist and pulled her into his arms. She struggled a few times, failed to get free, and simply gave up.

"What condition did you mention earlier?"

"Photographs," Damon said with a smile.

"Photographs? Of what?"

"You," Damon said lightly. "Dressed, and... undressed."

"You..."

Diana already knew what cameras and photographs were. Such a shameless condition made her instinctively want to refuse, but she had already agreed, and the refusal would not leave her mouth.

"Come with me."

Damon laughed and rose, pulling Diana toward his collection room.
