Chapter 41:

Chapter 41: Two Broken Hearts

A Journey of True Love Under a Cherry Tree

It has already been three weeks since Silva left her friends at the Serenity Port and left her friends a clue where she might be. Hoping the clue is enough for them to figure out that she is going to the capital and save her before making the biggest mistake of her life.

When arriving at the capital, Lord Julius took her straight to his private mansion in the capital, heavily guarded, making sure she did not escape. She already gave up her freedom, she wonders what else she is going to give up. She knows deep in her heart she did the right thing to protect her daughters and friends.

The mansion truly was beautiful with fifty rooms to explore or even a palace to escape. The garden is richly filled with the most beautiful flowers the eyes can see and she truly loves viewing them.

Silva is a bit surprised knowing Lord Julian has a home at the capital when he did not come from a family of high wealth. How can he even have a mansion in the capital? The capital has always been divided into royals and upper class with a middle and low class being divided.

“Right, since you are my prisoner here, you are free to explore the library and the garden. Also, you will be ready to present yourself as my wife and prepare everything you will need for the wedding. You will be allowed to explore the city with guards, but you are not allowed to visit the Guild Palace and if you do, I will kill your friends,” Lord Julian explained.

“Yes, of course,” Silva said, a bit annoyed.

“Good now, I will have a guard to escort you to your room. Also, while you are here, you are to be with the guard at all times,” Lord Julian explained as he was leaving.

“Thank you. I am a bit tired,” Silva said, ready to get some rest.

Silva is then escorted by the guards to her room which is located in the west wing. It seems this is the most beautiful part of the mansion she has ever seen in a long time. It is covered with portraits of places she visited in the past and places she has never been to before. She wonders if she will be able to travel again after this.

When she arrived at her room, it was the most elegant room she had ever seen before. The room is decorated with green and blues all over the room. The paintings were simply covered with flowers and jewels. There is a wardrobe filled with clothes for her, it is like he knew she was going to go with him from the start.

As days went by, Lord Julian did not like seeing Silva so unhappy being trapped in the mansion, so he thought of losing his reigns just a bit.

“Silva, since you have arrived here, you seem so miserable and I will not want my bride to be looking so miserable, so I will allow you to go with the guards into the city,”Lord Julius answered.

“Thank you very much, your lordship.”

“Now a few rules. You are only allowed in the city to continue shopping for the wedding which is coming in a few days. You are not to leave your guards to go anywhere else. Also, you are not to speak to the Guild King since there is no use since he is on my side. You also need to be back here before nightfall,” Lord Julian explained.

“Thank you for these privileges my lord,” Silva said, thanking him.

“Good now you may leave. Also, if you speak to anyone about what is going on here, I will have the guards kill you on the spot,” Lord Julian threatens.

“I understand,” Silva said, annoyed.

“Good. Now that we understand each other, I will allow you to see your family now. Please follow me,” he said, escorting her.

“What are they here? They never leave home.”

“Yes, well, I invited them here to witness our wedding in person.”

“When did they arrive?”

“They arrived just before we did and have been staying in the east wing ever since. You can say they are also my prisoners, so play nice.”

“Fine, escort away.”

“Very well.”

Lord Julian kindly escorts her through the halls of the mansion to the east wing to meet up with her family. The walk there is all silence since Silva is not in the mood to talk. While she is walking, she wonders how it will be like speaking to her family after so many months away from them since she never really is the one to care about her family.

Arriving at the east wing, Lord Julian escorts her to the room where her family is staying.

“Take all the time you need. I will be in my office,” Lord Julian said leaving.

“Thank you.”

Silva takes a deep breath, puts her hand on the knob and turns it. Opening the door wide, she steps inside and is greeted by her mother and her younger brother Stefan.

“Oh, my darling daughter, I am glad you’re safe. It has been far too long,” Silva’s mother said, greeting her daughter.

“Hello mother, why are you even here? Did you sell me out to Lord Julian for magic or what else did he offer you?” Silva asked angrily.

“Yes, as you know, the Guild King asked his nephew to marry you in order to bring back magic to our home.”

“Yes, I heard and I know the conditions, but why would you even agree to this arrangement even though you knew I was in love with someone else,” Silva asked out of anger.

“Yes, we knew, but it was a great match with Lord Julian and he will bring back magic to our home,” Queen Gabriela mentions.

“How can you say that mother? Magic is what got you in trouble in the first place, so why do you want it again? In fact, our kingdom is known as a great warrior class and the most powerful. We might have been a kingdom known for great warrior techniques, but we are also known for our magical healing abilities. What happened to you? I am ashamed to even be part of this family,” Silva replied with even more anger.

“We did not have a choice. We need magic to survive,” her mother answered in fear.

“Yes, dear, this is all true,” her father comes in.

“What a hypocrite mother! No choice! No choice! You could have not gotten into war with a rival kingdom. You had a choice to not upset our great goddess for committing a crime, pressuring her to remove your magic for good, and then killing her. It is unforgivable. Yes, I might be the last person in our kingdom with magic, but why bother using it when it does more harm than good,” Silva continues to show anger.

“I am sorry, my darling,” her mother said.

“Right, and nice try selling me out by revealing my secret for magic. Now that is unforgivable,” Silva said, leaving the room.

“Silva, wait,” her mother pleaded.

Silva left her family’s room in a heat of rage blasting fireballs and electrical energy balls on the walls all the way to her room. Storming back into her room, she felt exhausted and headed straight to bed. It is becoming harder and harder to sleep for her since the same moment of leaving her friends and the one she loves only to protect them. She begins crying over missing Terrance and her daughters and sleeps with sadness.

As Silva was resting, Lord Julian was in his office discussing the next part of his plan with his cronies.

“Your grace, are you sure it is wise to give so much freedom. What if she speaks with the Guild King?” Kenneth asked.

“Don’t worry, the Guild King is on our side since the previous one unexpectedly died. She will not be trouble to us,” Lord Julian said evilly.

“I understand, but what about the Deputy King?” Frank asked.

“She will stay silent as long as she knows what is good for her,” Lord Julian answered.

“Nice boss, you think of everything,” Frank said excitedly about the plan.

“Yes, and during the wedding ceremony, I will use my magic to take away her goddess magic and I will be the most powerful being on the planet and I shall rule the world,” Lord Julian explained.

“Oh, master you will be amazing, oh Great God Julian,” Alice said, pouncing the boss.

“Yes, excuse me,” Lord Julian said as he was leaving.

Early next morning, Silva woke up, got dressed and headed out of the mansion and made her way to the city and pay a visit the deputy guild king for help. Of course she had guards with her and followed her everywhere. When she reached the gates of the Guild Palace, she presented her ID to the guards and they let her in. Luckily the guards were not allowed in and they had to wait outside. Since she has been here before, she knew the fastest way to the throne room to speak to the king.

In front of the throne room doors, there is a golden emblem representing the guild king’s family crest. Silva bravely opened the doors and walked into the room horrified. The entire room was filled with blood on the walls and floor. She continued walking forward through the pool of blood and saw the Guild King’s body ripped apart and decapitated. Silva was so horrified that she screamed her lungs out.

Silva runs out of the room and is not sure what to do next.

“Silva is that you?” a voice asked.

Silva looks up to see Deputy King Dina running towards her.

“Dina! Dina! It’s good to see you,” Silva shouted.

“I am glad to see you too. What are you doing here?”

“It is a long story. I saw the throne room. What happened?” Silva asked in shock.

“Oh, I see. This happened when I was away from the capital. We have a new guild king now and much crueller now. He does not listen to my advice. And he keeps this room the way it is to set an example for anyone who wishes to defy him,” Deputy King Dina mentioned.

“Right, I know who did it and I am not sure how to expose him. He is threatening to kill me if I tell anyone about what happened,” Silva said.

“I see. I will do anything to protect you.”

“No, please protect my friends and daughters, they will need you to know more than ever. I will take care of things here, please here is where they are. If you cannot find them, get in touch with Rufus,” Silva pleas.

“Right, I will get right on it. Stay safe,” Deputy King Dina said, hugging Silva.

Silva was devastated, losing his majesty, Guild King, and did not feel his death like normal guild members would. Did it mean she was becoming more of a goddess and not feeling anything else? As she was running back to Lord Julian’s palace, she was so angry that she blasted the front gates and fired energy balls all over the palace and reached to his office door where she saw Lord Julian drinking tea with her mother.

“How could you? You think it is funny killing the Guild King? I knew you were always cruel, but I never thought this much,” Silva shouted.

“Ouch, those are some cruel words from my wife to be. If you must know, I had my informant to kill the Guild King, so no one will get in my way,” Lord Julian mentioned.

“You are a sick evil snake. You killed your own uncle for power, that is why I will never love you! You are evil!” Silva shouted.

“I don’t like the way you are speaking to me, how about a little punishment,” Julian said, zapping Silva with all his might.

Silva felt a huge amount of pain leading her to fall to the guard and obey.

“I am sorry sir, I will head off to bed,” Silva said walking away.

“Not so fast, we have a press conference in one hour. I expect you to be ready for it,” Julian ordered.

“Yes, sir,” Silva said, being escorted to her room.

The time Lord Julian gave her passed rather quickly and arrived on stage ready for the press conference. A handful of news reporters were already there ready to hear the latest news.

Elsewhere….

Silva’s friends left Serenity City Port, following Silva’s instructions non-stop in getting people to join their cause.

“Wow that makes two more guilds that have joined us, now all we need are the guilds north of here,” Rufus said reading the list.

“Yes, I am just glad our guilds agreed to join, but we have to keep on going,” Lisa said reading the note they set for themselves.

“Yeah, we better get her back, before the girls go and do it themselves,” Raquel warned.

“We better get moving, we have a lot of ground to cover before heading into the capital,” Rufus pointed out.

“I cannot wait to kill him before he kills Silva,” Julius said, ready to rip Lord Julian’s neck apart.

“So, how is Terrance?” Lisa asked.

“He seems beat up for not being able to save Silva from the tyrant,” Julius threatens.

“It’s been tough. Also, changing the subject, did you feel a sharp pain earlier?” Lisa asked to change the subject.

“I think we all did. I do not feel the greatest,” Rufus felt his arm a bit painful.

“I wonder what this is about,” Raquel wonders.

“I think I know what it is about,” Seth said, turning the volume up on the TV screen.

“Hello I am Wendy Sky and I bring you breaking news tonight, we just learned his majesty the Guild King has passed away. It is a great loss to the Guild League. Details are unknown on how he passed, but we will keep you updated. Now on to further news, I am here with Lord Julian and the great Silva of the Desert, to announce their wedding, please tell us more about how you snagged such a famous celebrity?”

“Yes, I simply asked her to marry me and she accepted,” Lord Julian replied.

“Yes, so how are the wedding preparations going?” Wendy asked.

“It is going well, it might have been sudden, but it is going well. We have guests flying from all over and we are happy to see them all. Since I have to deal with the guests, I let the preparations for the wedding go to Silva.”

“So when will this wedding take place?” Wendy asked.

“In two weeks,” Julian said kindly.

“That is great, I cannot wait to hear more of it, well, and I hope for the greatest future for the both of you. This is Wendy Sky, reporting live from the capital.”

Then Lisa shuts off the TV pissed off of what she heard. “That jerk. The nerve of kidnapping Silva and forcing her to marry him. I swear I will kill him myself if I could,” Lisa said, pissed off.

“I am with you. We have to save Silva before it is too late,” Rufus angrily said, ready to kill someone.

“Let’s get our stuff and get a move on,” Raquel ordered.

“We better leave and contact the guilds to meet us at the capital,” Seth suggested.

“Very well, we will stop that son of a bitch, once and for all,” Terrance said angrily.

“Yeah,” Lisa agreed. “Whoa, language Terrance, but how do you feel?”

“I am fine, let’s hurry and get Silva back,” Terrance said.

“Right, let’s go,” Rufus said kindly.

Rufus and the others headed out in the middle of the night with one thought in mind, to bring Silva back.

At the same time, Silva returned to her room after the conference, still heartbroken, missing Terrence by holding the necklace he gave her so long ago in her hand. She quickly hides it under her shirt when Lord Julian comes to her room.

“It seems you did well, tomorrow I want you to finish the preparations for the wedding and have them ready in three days,” Lord Julian ordered.

“Yes, all that is left is the dress and flowers. I will take care of that with my mother,” Silva said in tears.

“Good, now get some sleep,” Julian ordered as he left.

The race is now on to save Silva, but time is against them since a week has gone by in a blink of an eye as the wedding is soon to come.
