Entry #2: Last Wish

Earlier I got invited by my cousin, actually I didn't know that I even have a cousin until now but If that’s what they said, then I’ll go.

I entered his house and suddenly got grabbed by the birthday boy, happy of me being there. Being the confused guy, I asked him outside about his relation to me, he replied:

“I am the grandson of your grandpa’s brother, also the niece of your father”

Not gonna lie, those words took time for me to process. So as we walked in with contempt within my face, I asked more about him. Here I learnt that his name is Kiryu Yuuta, a 25 year old businessman, and a father of 5 children, way better than an inspector that writes and sacrifices for useless stuff for a living actually.

It’s afternoon, everyone already started their lunch from the celebrant’s homemade feast. Everyone was happy and chatting to each other, while some were getting weirded out of me, maybe because of my appearance that looks like a sugar dealer? I don’t know.

Kiryu called me upstairs and introduced me to his motherhood. The sibling consists of 2 old brothers and 3 younger sisters with the oldest as a successor of his little fortune or something because of how he's strict towards him.

After creating an awkward atmosphere, the oldest child gets out of the room and goes outside, probably looking for fresh air. While Kiryu continued to talk about his family, I looked to his son through the window and noticed that he’s on the phone, making me wonder in suspicion.

It’s 5 PM, the celebrant’s cake is ready, and the guests with their presents are ready. As Kiryu blows the candles, everyone bursts in joy and gathers their presents in front of Kiryu.

He opens his gifts, but one interests him with a weird look towards it, a black box with just the words “My First Gift” entitled on top, he nervously opens it and then, a single click has been heard and it explodes, blowing everyone outside the house and knocking us down.

I estimately fainted in 5 minutes, I slightly opened my eyes and I witnessed Kiryu being beaten up, children getting shot, and his wife getting assaulted by 5 men beside me and in front of him. As they notice my heavy breaths, one of them said:

“What are we gonna do to this sleeping beauty-ass weirdo over here?”

I asked for an explanation of the situation but got beaten badly. As Kiryu’s wife cried for help, I noticed an echo and discovered that we were in a hidden alley, away from the public. I asked Kiryu about the situation but both of us got beaten again as the wife’s cry became louder in suffering.

The beating lasted for 10 minutes, Kiryu and I were head-flat to the ground while his wife got thrown like a used tissue beside him with a disoriented lower half. As the mysterious people are distracted in the phone calling their boss, I asked in a stuttery manner:

“W-What i-is y-your real w-work?”

Kiryu replied in sobs and tears as he watched his wife catch her breath “I, I am an ex-gang leader that’s— b-big in this area… I’m trying to get— a normal l-life for the family’s sake… but I think— it’s useless… I only called you— since I want to see... my remaining relatives— before anything bad happens…. S-Sorry”

As I tried to respond, one of the mysterious men discovered our consciousness and grabbed Kiryu’s head and called another 5 men to assault his wife and 3 of his deceased daughters.

After hearing these statements, Kiryu screams in anger and proceeds to headbutt the guy grabbing his head so hard that it broke its nose. Another man grabbed me up with a knife for a hold up but Kiryu kicked the previous man’s head clean, heading to the knife. Kiryu, full of wrath, helped me balance up and said:

“1 to 20, huh?”

I replied “wait, alone?”

“Tchehe, keep your balance brother, see me work like my olden days”, Kiryu replied with a struggle while smiling. He raises his voice up and charges at the mystery men and begins to beat them one by one. As one hits him with a bat, he reflects it with a punch, as one scratches him with a knife, he reflects it with a headbutt.

5 minutes has passed and Kiryu’s exhaustion is clearly present. He's ready to fall down, but we heard a scream from his wife. Without noticing, his wife gets assaulted by 13 men as the fight progresses.

Kiryu’s rage overtook his exhaustion and proceeded to rush to the men, but suddenly a sharp sound was heard, after that I suddenly started to lose consciousness. I’ve been shot, and as Kiryu notices me, another sharp sound has been heard. Kiryu has been shot.

I can’t open my eyes anymore at that point, but a familiar voice lingers between my ears, a sharp voice of a teenager, It’s Kiryu’s eldest child. As he saw his mother’s situation, he commands the mysterious men to shoot everyone who just assaulted his mother, and also the mother. After that, I heard 2 slices of flesh, then Kiryu shouted in despair. Then, the eldest child commands the men to beat his father to death, he also commands some to call the police. At that point, I used all of my energy left to question his intention of doing such a thing. But he said:

“Shoot that inspector and knock his head hoping he’ll not remember your faces, then bring him to a hospital because he’s not part of my plan”

After what I’ve heard, I got bumped to a hard surface 3 times, and shot at the back twice, making me lose consciousness. Their faces were blurry as I remember this, but the memory isn’t.
