Chapter 1:
"Poem" dump
She was greeted with solid black silhouettes of trees amongst a kaleidoscope of a sky
The enticing sun seemed to be kissing the heavens in a final goodbye
It washed the earth’s atmosphere with a hue unmatched by any other sunset
She stood at a standstill as if to wish the giver of light a tranquil and modest exit
Neither heard the echoes of the ghostly air nor the rustling of skittish critters
No sound or movement left food for thought
All that could be done was to sit back and honor the brightest star an amicable farewell
Without a tear nor a cry,
She gazed at the dusk and smiled while basking in the residual warmth from the once illuminated star
All she can do now is wait for its uncertain return
Clouds glaze over illuminating the once lively azure with a daunting shade
What a forgotten and broken atmosphere
Dancing leaves bring with them memories of what once was
The leaves waltz with the crisp air, enjoying the time they have left
Glancing at the vast wasteland cautioned the inevitable reality
It haunts her with its begging cry
The longer she endures the iciness, the more her body yearns for calefaction
She so wished to be encased in that loving embrace
“What a great deal this inhospitable darkness has taken from us creatures”
