Chapter 1:

Chapter 1 - I Love Level Systems.

I... I don't have a System! I WANT A SYSTEM!

City of São Paulo, Brazil.

Thursday, September 20, 2019.

Inside one apartment on the 16th floor, Pedro was still sitting in front of his computer while analyzing his profile and his characters in the famous game called "The Sword Master: Origins"

It was an MMORPG that had launched in the year 2015 with diverse classes and an unparalleled level system. It was a game where the level system was fair.

Something that was not very common among the category of MMORPGs. Usually, the "P2W" players dominated the Top 100 of all servers.

Different from these games, The Sword Marter: Origins was a game that depended on your effort, your free time, and also a bit of luck with chests, invocations, and things very common in "Gacha" games.

The game suffered a bit of hate in the beginning because of the microtransactions. But in response to this, the game put a monthly transaction limit.

Players who spent money had a slight advantage. But even though the players who invested money had a small advantage, the game rewarded the "F2P players very well.

And so any player can have the possibility to be a top player of the 20 servers available in the game so far.

And Pedro was one of these people.

Despite living in a luxury apartment on the busiest avenue in São Paulo, he was one of the players who did not spend money. Many called him dumb, but he didn't care.

'I want to raise my levels on my own, using the money for that is like cheating.' He replied in a forum.

After that, several people replied, filling his notification box. Many continued to call him dumb and others supported him as well.

As the majority of the Brazilian players did not have a very nice financial condition because they living in a country where the quality of life and job opportunities were not very high, they supported Pedro.

But Pedro couldn't take the notifications anymore. As he was one of the top 5 players on the first server, he had a certain influence, which was sometimes quite annoying.

Especially during raids.

Where many players hindered him.

He was not a guy who was easily annoyed, but as his notification box did not stop, he returned to the forum.

Tec~~~

Tec~~

Tec~~~

[ You guys should play more and type less ].

He replied while giving a sarcastic smile to his computer screen.

"These guys can be annoying sometimes. But now I think I need to rest." Pedro yawned and then got up from his HXRacer chair, a very famous brand of gaming chairs.

And this chair was made in his father's company.

"Hmmm, I think I should prepare something to eat first. But before that, let's see if that Novel has released a chapter. The level system that the author created is insane! I feel satisfied just reading it."

Pedro threw himself on his king-size bed and grabbed his IPady. Then he opened the famous site called "WebNovel".

On the home page, Pedro's satisfaction began to rise. From Top 1 to 10 were all novels with the tag "System". It left him with a huge smile on his face.

"How nice that this genre is so loved. Should I try to write one of these novels someday? I don't know if I could, you have to have a lot of intelligence to be able to make a quality system."

Pedro opened his library and saw that his favorite novel "My Prostitute System" had released three new chapters. Without thinking, he put more coins on the website and bought all three chapters at once.

Within minutes he finished reading and sighed in ecstasy.

"Man, it would be cool to go to a world like this with a level system. Just imagine me in the world of The Sword Master: Origins? Or maybe in one of these fantasy novels? It would be amazing."

Pedro started to laugh but soon after became silent and got up from the bed with his usual expression.

"Of course I'm joking..." He yawned again and went to the kitchen of the apartment.

Opening the refrigerator, he took out some ham, cheese, and mayonnaise. After that, he took bread and rubbed mayonnaise in it. Then he took the ham and the cheese and cut them into slices, then put them inside the bread.

Taking a glass from the cupboard, he filled it with milk and put toddy in it. ( Toddy is a very famous chocolate brand in Brazil. )

"I should improve my diet, I feel like I'm getting fat." He picked up his bread and put it on a plate. He then walked to his room again and put the plate on the computer table.

After taking a sip from milk, he went to the window and opened the curtains.

When the curtains were opened, the moonlight illuminated his room. In addition, the lights from the surrounding apartments and also from the cars down in the streets made São Paulo look beautiful.

It looked like New york.

"That city is really beautiful, but still that I must move soon." He yawned again and looked directly at the moon.

"Hm?" But while looking at the moon, in the distance he could see a kind of fireball coming towards him.

"Am I too sleepy?" He rubbed his eyes as he looked at that big fireball that was getting closer and closer to the building.

"Wait a minute!!!!!!" And with a shout, he pushed himself away from the window and tried to run away. But before he could get out of his room, he felt a large amount of concrete fall on his body, causing great pain.

But fortunately, he didn't feel pain for long.

His life was taken in seconds.

The next day in the newspapers, nothing else was mentioned but the great meteor that struck the city of São Paulo.
