The Interlude of the Reaper II

The Reaper watched the whole battle a good distance away. The armored fiend sat sprawled against am old tree, the shade giving him a comfortable place to sit, while still affording a good view of the battlefield. 

"Did he survive?" A woman's voice asked. 

She stood near the Reaper. She wore an elegant black dress, with a pair of matching dark heels. Long, raven black hair fell behind her, held loosely together by a ribbon that fluttered in the wind. She kept her eyes hidden under a metal mask, with a wide brimmed hat on her head further obscuring her face. 

"He did." The Reaper responded, leaning on his leg, his long blade tossed carelessly to the side. 

"Do you think he'll be a threat?" She asked him. 

"I wouldn't worry too much about him." The Reaper chuckled. "He learned Shadow Rush a little quicker than I expected, but he still has no idea how to truly use Shadow Nin." 

"What does the Lord of Thorns hope to accomplish with this?" She asked. 

The Reaper wobbled his hand, indicating that he had no idea. 

"You can just tell me, you know." She sighed. 

"We've been together for a long time. You should start picking up my subtle nuances." He said. 

The woman ignored him, her gaze focused on the distance. She was watching Hina approach Rell, Elena, and Rena. 

"Hina..." She smiled, but suddenly remembered herself, returning to a neutral expression. 

"She's second in command now." The Reaper informed. 

"So Twenty-four and Ninety-two finally died huh?" The woman said. "That just leaves that woman in charge. I feel sorry for the other Sisters." 

"We should go. Your sister already saw me. It might be enough to force Six-Seven's hand." The Reaper said, standing up and reaching to the woman. 

"Yes." She sighed, tenderly grabbing the Reaper's hand. 

"Ready?" He asked. 

She turned back, looking at Hina one last time. 

"See you soon, my beloved sister." She whispered. 

They were gone in a split second, their existence seemingly erased.
