Daughters of the Air

The two Sisters eyed their two opponents. The Horse neighed, smoke and fire bellowing from its nostrils as it watched them. The Lion growled, flaring its remaining wing, its blade tail still very much intact. 

The two Sisters Gale Sprinted, blasting across the roof. Astra let loose her two knives, Air Pushing them and sending them spiraling towards the Lion. The Lion maneuvered, dodging the attack. 

Elena dashed the Horse, catching it by surprise and searing a deep gash into one of its spider legs. With incredible speed, she rushed again, slashing into its side. The Horse breathed fire on her. Elena leapt, using Wind Nin to flip over the the creature. It reached out, grabbing her leg and flinging her onto the ground. She caught herself with Wind, cushioning her fall, before Air Pushing, sliding under the Shadow and slashing into it with her blades. 

Astra threw two more knives, the weapons barely grazing the lion as it maneuvered, lunging with its blade tail. Astra spun, dodging the attack and drawing another knife, blasting it directly into the Lion's eye, blinding it. With an Air Push, she planted a foot onto the back tip of the protruding weapon, driving it deeper as she kicked off the Lion, launching four more knives into its torso. They dug deep, one of them almost penetrating straight through the Lion's body. 

The Lion roared, channeling lighting. 

"Oh no you don't." Astra gasped. 

She Air Pushed the knives still jutting out of the Lion's body. They tore through the Shadow, each blasting out the other side with a sonic boom. The Lion bucked over in pain, its attack sputtering out. 

Elena danced around the fire, cutting into the Horse liberally. After severing another spider leg, the Shadow, collapsed, unable to support itself. 

"Switch!" Astra ordered. 

"Sure!" Elena said. 

The two Sisters, traded off, spinning around each other and facing their new opponents.

The Lion struggled to its feet, legs shaking as it prepared another tail attack. The strike flew at Elena at great speed. She simply side stepped, dodging out of the way, before casually swinging her blade, cutting the tail off. The Lion tried to leap back, but Elena Gale Sprinted, driving her two weapons into the Lion's head crisscrossed. She cut in an X pattern, killing it.

Astra mocked the Horse, dancing around the flames and driving knives into its remaining legs. As it revved its head back, flaming about to pour from its mouth, she blasted a knife into its head. The weapon blew out the other side explosively. 

The two Shadows began to evaporate, their bodies fading away in smoke and ash. 

"Two for, what, five?" Astra gasped, wiping sweat off her brow. 

Elena bit her lip. Five more dead Sisters, and they haven't even found the Overlord yet. 

"Come on. We can mourn them later. We have a mission to do." Astra tugged at her Sister. 

"Right." She nodded. 

The two launched into the air., flying off in search of the other two from earlier. 

"You guys okay?" Hina's voice asked. 

"Yeah. We lost five." Astra answered. 

"I see." Hina's voice said softly. "Continue on. Check on the other two. Can't seem to get into contact with them."

"Help..." The Sister reached for Light Orb, only to have her throat sliced by the humanoid Shadow pinning her down. 

The other Sister lay on the ground nearby, dead. She had several spear-like arrows piercing her body.  The three humanoid Shadows mounted their horses, riding off to intercept Elena and Astra.
