Chapter 11: Heartstrings

"And I'm sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable with my monitoring, I know I was wrong with that. It's just, you disappeared all of the sudden after we met and my curiosity got the best of me " He closed the little distance that they have, as she was leaning slightly on the counter, and he was standing there in front of her, speaking in a gentle and deep voice.

Molina crossed her arms over her chest, she tilts her head, listening to him very carefully with a serious expression on her face.

"You had men following my move and even had them watch my living room, day and night. I know they are on the other building next to this one," She states her findings and Alex tried to test the waters again, he slowly places both of his hands beside Molina and caging her within his space.

He leans a bit closer, just enough for her to escape him if she didn't want this kind of intimate act yet Molina stayed and doesn't show any hint of disgust in her expression.

"I'm going to remove them today if that will make you less angry with me, I'm really sorry, that's my fault also. I'm just letting them watch if your lights turn on and let them inform me if you've arrived safely or left the building. Nothing else..." He apologizes and his face showed sincerity.

"You made them take photos of me and interrupt some of my conversations with other strangers, you know what it looks like? sometimes people thought I had a jealous husband following my every move " She slightly squints her eyes as she stares at him, as if judging his decisions for the past three years, yet Alexander seems more delighted at Molina's words but even as he smiled.

" Yes, I am jealous." He said as a matter of fact. Letting her know how exactly he feels when she was left walking around without a care of the world.

Alexander knew he had no right to be jealous or acting like a stalker around the young Sylvia, he even tried to tell himself that it was just a passing feeling that would fade once he saw other women who had the same personality like hers, but Alexander couldn't forget about those golden eyes that gave him a comfortable and itchy feeling.

It was definitely love at first sight.

He tried to convince himself and try to forget until he couldn't endure.

He was unable to learn about her well-being, he tried to find her and to see how she was doing, he thought if he acquired a photo of her, hoping it will stop his desire for the young woman.

Just one photo of her.

Just one piece of news about her.

It should have been enough.

But it was never enough for him, and he just wanted more than just a photo and more than just words about her.

For the past 2 years he had continued to watch over her without Molina's knowledge (that's what he thought) and longed to finally meet her again.

He wanted her to be his that he made sure that even if she was hiding in an isolated country that he could still find her.

" It seems that I've fallen for you Molina Sylvia, that I even get jealous for no reason," He says and watch as she looks at him in surprise, he knew his actions were not normal and would have made her feel uncomfortable but even if she won't understand or accept his confessions, Alexander just wants her to know.

At least, even if she rejects him, he could continue to live his life with the bittersweet memory of his first love.

"You, " Molina had watched as Alexander's eyes showed a hint of hurt, she had a shocked expression after hearing the confession but then recovered her surprise as she watches the man in front of her seriously.

" I knew you were into me but I didn't think it was this much " She sighs and then she looks at Alexander's face which had look at her in astonishment as if he hadn't imagined for her to just forget his past actions or push him away.

Rather, Eve gently leans her head onto his left arm for support as she looked at him with an unreadable expression.

Eve had thought of this situation since she found out it was Alexander who had been sending someone to watch her every move, it wasn't hard to discover that the ML Company's youngest president had an incredible desire to get to know Molina Sylvia ever since he met her in the lobby after she left Graham's company party.

The sudden realization that there was one of this world's characters that had been affected by either her behavior or the system.

It was obvious that Dave, Jonathan, Ethan, and Hubert will never change just because Molina started to act differently, they were made to provide and help the female lead till the very end.

That was supposed to be the same case for Alexander, but he strayed further away from his original character, he made sure Molina was safe in another country when he hired secret services to guard her and watch her in a distance, he kept checking the company she was investing and was the only one concerned for her well being.

Even Eve's mother will not find ways to see if her daughter has been eating well.

Alexander was supposed to be her greatest threat, he was Molina's executioner and Diana's savior but now Molina's became a target of his affection.
It was the scenario that Eve could never even imagine.

A string of data falling in love with a character that was supposed to end up unloved and unwanted.

Eve had experienced previous relationships when she possessed other bodies from the past worlds and all she had received from those kinds of love were nothing but bitterness and hurt. It was all calculated and scripted, where she knows it happened because it was made to happen.

A command that existed and would be followed by every character, even Eve couldn't stop a lot of scenes that needed her to attend to a man she doesn't love inside a bedroom or be taken advantage of by men.

Alexander's unscripted movements and his unconsciously breaking away from his path made Eve feel happy, to be honest. Even his confession made her heartbeat and her hands slightly shake, she doesn't show it but she had seemed to like this man who had done nothing like what the previous Alexander did.

An unexpected event happened one after another that lead Alexander and Eve to this very moment.

" Molina?" Alexander softly calls out to her name and Eve returns to her senses, she didn't even realize she had been leaning her head to his chest and how his arms wrap around her carefully, Alexander had looked down on her and even if he looks calmly as if their intimate action doesn't faze him, Eve could hear his heart beating quickly as if it's telling her how real this feeling was for him.

"I didn't even realize that it's already night time" She couldn't help but look outside and saw how the city lights illuminated the night. Her voice was soft as the snowflakes falling outside the kitchen window, Alexander couldn't stop looking at her.

Eve comfortably leans her head on his chest.

She doesn't know if this is love that she's feeling and she doesn't even know what would happen with Alexander by her side but what she knows is that she should give this miracle a chance.

Because this might be a one in a million in this fabricated world.

"Do you want to stay for the night?"

Alexander's body seems to heat up as Eve leans closer to him and she looks up. Her eyes gazed his own and those dark orbs stare at her amber ones with such intensity. As if the temperature turned warmer, Eve started to feel a comfortable yet exciting feeling as they gaze at each other.

Alexander leans his face slowly and his lips touch her own. He makes sure that she was pressed against his chest as he slowly took his time and tasted her sweet and luscious lips. Eve could feel her heart beating so fast when he moves his other hand on the back of her head, as he tilts his head for better access.

The man didn't hesitate to finally lower his head and lifts her so he could easily take what was offered in front of him. Just like a starving beast, he wasted no time to devour her sweet mouth.

After what felt like hours even though only minutes passed, he realizes Molina has started to catch her breath and he lets her take a break.

Alexander smiles and leans his head on her shoulder and wrap both of his hands on her tiny waist tightly, with their chest pressed together.

Eve lightly laughs when she realized how clingy he was.

Alexander nuzzles his face closer to her neck and gave a sigh of relief when he remembers her previous words and how she was responsive in their first kiss, he understood how she wasn't rejecting him.

"Was that a yes?" Molina asked him again, she could feel how comfortable he was just embracing her.

"Only if I'm going to be your lover " he moves his head and gave her a sweet kiss on the cheek, their hug was filled with warm emotion which they both felt.

There was a comfortable feeling that settled within her, a blooming warmth and tingly sensation that comforted her. What follows the warm emotion that suddenly appears within her was her heart beating and mind filled with hopefulness.

She couldn't believe they just make out and she enjoyed it. Even wished for it to be longer.

With those thoughts in her head, her entire body heating up and even her face had turned slightly red.

Eve hadn't felt this emotion before, not in her original life nor in this multiple lives that she had to pretend was hers.

Eve leans her head back, just enough to look at Alexander's face and smile, pulling the man's heartstrings effortlessly.

"Guess you're going to stay the night then, Alexander. "
