Chapter 3:

Chapter 3

Who's weak now?

Kyo’s moods kept switching back and forth, he either wanted to kill Akaza and kept attacking him or he was asking for forgiveness for hurting him even though Akaza had said multiple times that he wouldn’t die that easily.“Even so, it must hurt.” had said Kyo.

Two days later, Akaza gave Kyo another dose of blood for him to drink just outside the house, “My desire to kill will get stronger after I drink this right?” asked Kyo looking at the cup in his hands.

“Your psyche will be balanced after this dose. You’ll either become a thoughtless demon who kills any and everyone you see or you will keep your reason and decide who to kill. If you turn out the former I’ll kill you, so keep your reason for me yeah? I really want to fight you properly not while you’re in those mood swings of yours”

A moment passed with Kyo looking at the blood filled cup “Do it for you huh? Was that also the reason you turned me? Did I ask you t...”

“No, I turned you on a whim. You looked strong enough. Just that.” interrupted Akaza pushing the cup in Kyo’s hands towards his mouth. Before Kyo could change and try to kill Akaza for the sixth time that day he emptied the cup and felt the world do a somersault.

Akaza steadied a shaky Kyo so he wouldn’t drop to the floor by holding his shoulders. Kyo focused himself and trying not to fall to the floor he embraced Akaza making him carry most of his weight. Kyo’s head was resting on Akaza’s shoulder blade and his arms around the pink haired demon’s neck and torso. The blonde demon was breathing hard against Akaza’s skin, and the latter felt bewildered at the sudden non-violent skinship. Kyo’s breath became uneven and harsh and he held Akaza harder, the latter was still confused and not sure what to do when he felt a sharp pain on his back. Kyo had pierced his back, grabbing Akaza’s heart with his fingers. “I guess you went for the first choice.” said Akaza, blood spilling from the corner of his mouth.

“Today is the day you finally die,” said Kyo, moving his head back looking at his pink haired prey, an evil smile displayed on his face. Akaza knew that Kyo would get this strong after the second dose, but nevertheless Kyo was weak. He was weak because he didn’t stay rational and now Akaza had to kill him, and find someone else to be his last boss, the person he would become stronger with, the person that he would fight until the end of times with.

Locking eyes with the blonde, Akaza’s lips quivered ever so slightly and his eyes mellowed for the tiniest instant. “I’m sorry.” whimpered Kyo as Akaza was about to go for the kill. Light seeped through Kyo's eyes, their red and gold tones showing. Kyo slowly removed his hand from Akaza and passed out on him. Akaza held him and while he was taking him home he wondered if they still had a chance of spending eternity together.

A day and a half later Kyo woke up in his bed. The first thing that came to his mind was him piercing Akaza’s chest and the seemingly lonely eyes that looked back at him. Kyo went to take a shower, he felt dirty and grime and took his time showering and relaxing when Akaza walked in half naked surprising them both. Kyo couldn’t look at Akaza, guilt from what he had done still vivid in his mind, so he got up, wrapped a towel around his waist and said that Akaza could use the bath, his eyes not leaving the floor. “There’s some human blood on the table. Drink it, you look horrible.” said Akaza, closing the door behind him. Kyo dressed himself and sat at the table with the human blood in front of him, he felt in his bones that if he drank it he would feel lighter and healthier but in those same bones he felt that he couldn’t.

“If you don’t drink it, it will be tougher for you.” said Akaza coming out of the bath.

“Even so, I get the feeling that if I drink it I won’t be me anymore.” said Kyo, not taking his eyes from the bowl of blood.

“Who are you then?”

Kyo said nothing and just looked at Akaza with pain in his eyes, he got up and went outside. Even though it was early afternoon the cabin was placed at a localization that gave it the minimum light time possible. Akaza himself got dressed and went outside to look for Kyo and found him asleep below a tree drooling “Stupid, if you drank some blood we could be sparring, instead of wasting more time sleeping” said Akaza sitting down next to him and soon enough he too was asleep.
