Melody of The Heart

he opens his eyes to find himself laying on a  bed, his hole body covered in bandages from bottom to top,  to his left a small window that let the light of the morning sun travel through the room ,it was an hostpital room

 he turns his head to look towards the door entrance further ahead at his right ,he then realizes that something was weighting on his right arm, the one he taught he lost, it was the blonde girl sitting on a chair sleeping next to his side while holding his treated hand

you could see just from her worn eyes the number of tears that she shed that night, it was obvious that she didn t get enough sleep ,yet she seemed to have a faint relief on angelic  her face

seeing her like that he didn t wanna wake her up, he just kept staring at her golden glimmering hair  remembering last night's events, he then let out a slight breath and turns his head to look at the green grass of the garden outside saying to himself "why am I still alive ?"

shortly the door opens it was a nurse when she saw him awake she directly went calling for the doctor, the noise awakned the girl , while she was getting up opening her eyes, in the moment she grasped a look at him her eyes opened wider and wider and her confused face went into  a fragile state as if she was going to burst into tears again.

shortly the nurse comes  back with the doctor.

doctor: "good morning Young man you seem to have regained consciousness quiet sooner than expected"

the doctor starts  examining him making him move multipile parts of his body while still resting on the bed while the girl and the nurse just kept starring 

Kier was anxious during the whole process one could say he hated doctors ,thus he also hated hospitals.

doctor: "hmm seems all good you are lucky that these injuries didn t leave any permanent damage my boy "

the girl's face took a genuine relieved expression as the nurse kept patting her shoulder and holded her hand for confort

nurse: "see I told you he is  going to be alright we have the best doctors out here "

doctor: "you have multiple broken bones in both your legs and right arm , also  some of your ribs are fractured so you will be staying here for a while  " as he smiled

Kier didn t like it ,as it showed on his face

seeing Kier reaction, the doctor throws a peal of quiet silly laughter: "well seems that I won't be needed here anymore I have more patients to look after. Maggy  take good care of our patient for me ok ? "

while smiling  and starring directly at Kier: "make sure he also properly takes his medicine we will start rehabilitation right after his legs are fully healed" 

Maggy(nurse): "of course doctor!" 

seeing the teasing smile of the nurse next to the genuine kind smile of the girl he didn't  know how to feel, nervous or just more conflicted about his situation  he probably wished that he died back there as he throws a quiet tick with his tongue 

on the other hand the girl was just relieved that he was alive and okay she didn t try to hide her joy at all 

on his way out reading the report before even reaching the doorstep, the doctor stops for a moment: "hmm there was also something weird, the ambulance staff were balbling about " 

he turns his head  back and  stares intensely at Kier"some weird........ regeneration stuff"

Kier took a defensive gaze, the girl seemed to be afraid while looking at his dark eyes.

nurse:" oh no! they must have been drinking on the job again Doctor!"

the doctor then loosens his seriousness : "oh you are right,  I'll make sure to report those incompetents to the administration, NO misconduct on my watch !! haha, have a nice day everyone!"

as the doctor left the tension  seemed to cool off . the nurse started to put Kier medicine on a table  right beside his bed :" you know, your girlfriend was sick worried about you "

Kier immediately replies indiferently: "she is not my girlfriend,and she should have just left me to be"

the girl looked somehow embarassed 

the nurse then confronts him with a more casual vibe:" hey watch your words boy ?do you know how much she was worried she was crying all night she didn  leave your side for a sec !"

kier acted like he doesn t care starring at the window nervously

but then while holding a syringe the nurse gets close to him and starts whispering  words as if she was threatening him Maggy(nurse): "Listen carefully if I see even a tear on that girl's face again 'll make sure you never forget your stay here understand ?" 

Kier was creeped out by her mennacing words he hated his situation even more and kept looking towards the window annoyed

the nurse then starts exchanging  smiles with the girl again like nothing happenned

nurse:" ok now I better get going too i have some patients to look after i ll be back later ok, I'll leave you two to it!!  " and winks to the girl before closing the door

It made Kier more annoyed, as he layed back on the bed: "I guess this going to cost me all my savings  huh"

the girl proudly responds: "ah don t worry about that, I already took care of the bills ! "

Kier rolles his eyes towards the girl without even realizing what she was saying: "what  ?" 

with a proud smile, the girl tells him another time: "I paid for every.... "

he interrupt her : "are you serious why would you do that?

"uh?" the girl was confused

why did you even stay here all night you could have gone home we dont een know each other and im not poor you know ? how much did it cost? i ll pay you back "

her disolved smile as she kept wearing off as she kept hearing him lecturing her

he then adds  as he put his hand on his forehead with a lower voice " but really you should have just let me die in peace  "

then she suddenly speaks loudly: " you saved me!! "

it made Kier Startle as he goes "what are you are talking about?"

girl kindly adds: "last night in the subway, I.., I don t k how you did it but..you...you saved me" 

Kier speaking the most bored way possible : "you are wrong , you probably just imagining things,why would i save you,i wouldn t even save myself "looking regretfull towards his broken legs

 she holds his hand" you got hurt because of ,because you protected me!" her expression went a bit sad right after speaking those words  ,as she holds his hand more dearly and looked at him with her magnificent teal set of eyes

Kier not comprehending what was going on pulls his hand off, trying to avoid her eyes, he didn't t understand how or why she showed so much care , it was unnatural and disconcerting he wasn t the type to accept such kindness from a stranger just like that.

the girl didn t seem to mind it at all , she smiled more kindly than ever a pure genuine smile.

"to begin with how can you pay for all this, this hostpital looks pretty expensive" Kier

the girl :"well my family is wealthy so it was not a problem"

Kier looked at her displeased :"so its worst , it s your family thats paying for my bills now"

the girl :"no it s not like that i.. ,it s only me and my grandmother i mean it was ...."

her look sadnned while still holding that kind smile as she continnued " last month,i ended up inherating all the family funds, i am glad i could put some of it to use" 

"i see ,so your grandmother passed ... ,i am sorry"said kier,as he tryied to show compassion

the girl seemed to carresse a something that she reavealed under he sleave ,i was a dark big enough bracelt around her right hand that dislplayed an embeded a green emmerlad at its center 

the emmerlad was beautifully polished yet unusual it defenetly seemed expensive 

when he noticed Kier taught that it looked familiar to him and asked"where did you get that bracelet ?"

the girl:"my grandma gave it to me when i was small she said that it was passed in the family for a very long time, it s like a familly treasure, i usualy keep it safe at home ,because i happens to lose it often but"she stops to look at him again

"but somehow i always end up finding it again "then with her kind voice she adds while she looks at braclet another time"A prayer is a longing for eternity"

Kier didnt seem to understand what the girl was saying "...."

the girl smiled at him " just something my grandma used to say" the girl had  nostalgy all over her face,

Kier seemed to have a changing of hearth when he looked at her like that "she is just a strange kind girl i guess" he thought

suddenly a cellphone starts ringing it was the girls,she takes the call normally  ,a few seconds later her face went into panic then she hangs up.

few seconds of silence had passed before Kier asks her: "what's wrong ?"

the girl seemed to be troubled:" ah sorry, it was just my friend "

Kier knew she was lying he had already heard a man shouting through the phone and threatening  her if she doesn t show up for work

 Kier:" aren t you gone go ?"

girl acting cluelessly:" where?"

Kier stating the obvious: "to see your friend?"

the girl proudly responds:" ah no don t worry im not going! " 

 her response seemed to have angred him a bit as he asks firmly : "why ?"

she goes: "no, I can t, I need to stay with you! "

after hearing that Kier felt more irritation and confusion, he couldn t believe how naive she was he couldn t unerstand that devotion of hers towards him he wasn t that special why did such a beautiful girl take so much interest at him 

then with a low  calm voice he muttered: "just leave"

girl: "what?"

a sea of dark and incomprehensive emotions emerged withing him again he goes with a sinister and strong voice:" you need to leave"

the girl"but i can t i need to......"

"I said LEAVE !"Drystan shouted as his voice echoed through the room

the girl was just shocked, she could t respond or move, her lips mid open and her eyes totally fixated on him she had the same look the first time he layed eyes on her she was scared of him again 

it was like that moment when someones true character unveils and all you could do was just sit there and contemplat their hiden behaviours

when Kier saw her reaction to his attitude he lowers his head  and adds as if he was trying to explain his sudden agressive act "why would you waist your time here you already paid my bills dont you think thats enough?"already diverting his eyes off her

the girl gets up from her seat and just like that her next following actions made Kier more speechless than ever

the girl had slightly bowed her head down : "I am sorry!"  she then walks directly towards the door

but just before leaving, she then turns towards him and with a stunningly bright smile she kiondfully goes " ill see you later then"  then leaves 

 the following seconds after the door was closed, Drystan didn t move an inch he was probaly just wondering if she had maybe did not understand him well. he was replaying her response in his mind on a loop trying to figure out if she was fooling him into believing that she was not offended or hurt by his  harsh words or if she was just a total idiot

 he shortly realizes then that he didn t ask her name 

he lays there trying not to think of anything about her, trying to erase any thoughts of  her from his mind, and then shortly falls asleep

at nightfall Kier wakes up just before midnight as he stares at the moonlight that penetrated the window  something felt different he was not the same or rather something had changed inside  him somthing had emerged from within him you could see it right away as if he had matured , the gaze in his eyes wasn't t as gloomy as before it was more tenebre , calm and relaxed 

 on her way home the girl who worked late due to her not being in time was still waiting for the last bus to come  . she sighted as she kept waiting the streets were strangely empty  it was a calm night  with no wind nor much noises

suddenly from the shadows a voice spoke:"a girl shouldn t be alone in the street at such a  time " surprised she immediatly look for it s source 

it came from the  dark space behind the street light just next to the bus stop,she turned her head to check her surounding for safety measures and as she looked back towards the shadow again a person slowly emerged into the light 

the moment she discovered his face somehow she didnt appear to be surprised much ,she just replied politely to his words :"but i am not alone now am i ?"

you could see in the reflection of her teal emerlad eyes that it was Kier ,but she wasnt even troubled as a normal person would be ,as if she knew he would be there

Kier was  not the same you could see it in the way he looked at her , he wasnt feeling anxious about her eyes anymore in the contrary he was pleased to look back at her, his gaze his posture the way he walked ,the tone of his voice he was different,  his set of black clothes somehowenglobed the sinistrous feeling around him, you could feel  some deeper darkness emaning from him

Kier:" well shall i be your escort ? " 

his tone was as pleasing as it could sound and his expresion couldnt be more confident ,his dark  eyes were so piercing and intimidating ,yet the girl atitude did not change towards him she didn t seemed to notice his change as she held usual kindfull look

before they starts walking she goes :"jade,my name is jade " Kier slightly widenned his eyes before responding back

when looking at how siruis she seemed about him knowing her name a little smile showed on his lips :"well shall we go jade"

they kept walking trought the calm streets without exchanging a single word 

as they walk past the station that was closed earlier  due to the accident, jade stoped for a mere moment before Kier took a look at it too then continued walking again ,until they had reached the restaurent were he worked  ,they went in .

the empty restaurant felt like a haunted house you could barely see anything inside  jade was holding into drystan shirt till they reached the upper floor where the balconny with the piano was located

 as they steped onto the enlightened wide ballcony "are we allowed in here"jade asked

calmly"a littl bit late to say that no?"Kier then contemplated the view for a moment"it s a nice view, isnt it"

jade eyes were totaly fixated on him before she turns her attention to the glowing city lights far away and responds to his words"yeah,it s beautifull"

as she kept looking at the streetlights that iluminated the wide street ahead of them and the darkned sea waters of the cannal behind it  ,the  big city lights in the background then slowly took her complete attention

until she starts hearing the sound of the piano playing,a soft melancholic melodie starts filing the air, Kier sitting there with his elegent  back .at that moment she didnt wonder how he his wounds were healed ,how  he got out off the hospital,nor how he could play the piano with such delicacy, her mind was just caged in the thoughts of his undenayable presence 

what she was seeing was just far more important in her eyes than those mere trivial things 

But as the melody intensified, a sudden explosion shook the air and a deafening raging scream echoed through the sky like thunder in a storm. Jade reflexively covered her ears, her gaze drawn to the sky as she witnessed a series of fiery explosions. Her heart raced as she saw a silhouette in the sky battling monsters, his body engulfed in orange flames. She couldn't tell if she was dreaming or hallucinating as she watched the scene unfold. 

 while witnessing the huge amount of explosions  of fire in the sky, that scenery reflected in her eyes like fireworks in a starless night when she looked up towards the big orange lights that 

when she realized that the big sillhouted  was fighting a loud growling and flying creatures in the sky that you could certainly call monsters. from that far away she couldn t discerne what he was either, the huge amount of fire he seemed to emerge from his arms  and feets as well as the orange  energy that looked like fire emanating from his whole body as he jumped from  monster to monster reducing them to mere ashes in the air

her  heart started racing even more ,fear took over her body 

she fastly look back towards Kier, but he was still intensifying his melody playing the dramatic chorus harder and harder ,as if he couldn t hear anything besides his own playing,he was so immersed so focused completely unfazed by the chaos happening outside. The sounds of the explosions and the piano blended together in a chaotic perfect harmony. 

seeing him as he was ,somehow her worried expression weared off slowly in hope that all that was just some kind of illusion or  delirium ,she decides then to keep her eyes off the imaginary monsters  and focus on what she only could see while the lights emanning from the sky kept enlightening her big tealed eyes

and when the chorus reach its end , and the sounds of the creatures  kept lowering and lowering , Kier melody started to enter it s fantasy like coda 

suddnely ,a huge monster appeared out of nowhere and started to fly directly towards them ,when she noticed the huge creature jade couldn t help watch in terror ,she was holding her breath without realizing it and could not divert her eyes from the raging monster  nor could she move a finger to try evading it,seeing such gruesome devilish beast  that close with her own eyes left her in total state of shock

but right when the monster was about to reach them a tall strong man appeard just in front of the balcony, she could only see his wide back, dark skinned and muscled , he was big for an  human,whearing a white clothings and an unusual dark golden ringed armor around his shoulders with  matching gauntlets on both his hands that let his huge arms fully naked 

then she saw it, the flickering that run through his body like a heated breath of dragon as he layed both his hands to intercept the atrocious monster, the moment his hands made contact with that winged dark violet huge thing his body lightned up in a firelike orange energy so bright so hot she taught he was like a bulb at a break point 

she was mesmerized by the moment that she didn t even know when the piano had stopped until Kier walked towards her to ask for her hand with a small elegant gesture , while the shining heat kept getting stronger and hotter with  every second fear and uncertainty were still consumming her.

but even though ,when she finaly takes his hand , looking at him unbothered by the shine that made her teal eyes  sparkle ,  her  heart slowly went at ease as she naturaly starts closing her eyes  to the blinding orange light .
