Chapter 1: A New Beginning

 As I was falling into the infinite void of darkness I wondered about many things, about what I could have done to prevent this. I felt regretful over many things I did in my lifespan and now I shall pay the price for making that treacherous deal.

All this wishful thinking is useless now, as I took my last breath, I then saw my daughter and wife as I was drifting away smiling while getting closer to them, without noticing I was sinking farther at the same time. Then at that moment I finally thought that all the pain I went through was going to be worth it, I was finally going to rest in peace but then

the unspeakable happened…

I was dragged down by the devil himself! pulled into the bottomless abyss.

“I will never forget that treacherous smirk he had on his face while dragging me down.”

The bottomless abyss had no end but also no beginning. You could make anything or do anything you wanted but there was nobody to share it with because the one thing you can't ever make in the abyss was souls.

Most people would go crazy within a few months without having any social interactions, but I was not going to give in to that devil’s trap. The only thing I could do was read books because it is the only way I could not lose my insanity.

While millions of years had passed, all I did was read books

Even after ten million years passed, I was still reading.

Most humans would have forgotten everything they knew within the first hundred years of living by then but for some reason I didn’t, I couldn’t forget anything. I read multiple books from everywhere, alternate dimensions, alternate worlds, different planets, anything I wanted was there.

Most people would have gone crazy after millions of years of being alone and tried to kill themselves by then, but you’re not wrong he did try to kill himself multiple times, but nothing worked so all he could do was read and hope there was a way he could escape or die.

He swore to himself that he would never forget what that devil had done to him and swore to get revenge, he tried using any type of way to get out but nothing worked.

After a hundred million years had passed you would think he was a completely different man, he was no longer the joyful man from the past he barely even remembered his daughter and wife’s faces anymore they say a man can change a lot in 10 years what about ten million or a hundred million.

But one thing he would never forget was why he wanted revenge on the devil who trapped him here. Even if he wanted to, he couldn't forget because his brain didn't have any knowledge but his soul had over a hundred million years of knowledge.

He almost admitted defeat and gave up, until one day

“Welcome to the world, my child.”

The beautiful woman holding me gently in her arms said with a calm voice and sweet smile.

I couldn’t comprehend the situation all at once. I wasn't sure if I should be happy, sad, or angry.

Just what happened?

That is what I wanted to say, As soon as I opened my eyes I could tell my past life is gone I was no longer Kimura who had died over a hundred million years ago for a second I thought it was a dream but then he remembered there was no way in hell that all those years was a dream.

“a- ga a- ga”

He couldn’t say anything that came out of his mouth his tongue was too short to talk

“My son is healthy and alive!”

The man with a black short beard and dark brown skin said as he ripped off a piece of his black and golden robe to tie the baby’s hand around.

“Stop it Ventris your gonna hurt our child”

The woman yelled in a silent voice to not scare her newborn baby while grabbing the man's ear

“If he can’t handle this he won’t be able to hold an elven bow proud!”

“He is just a baby stop yelling your going to scare him”

I finally got reincarnated but I wasn’t happy it felt like there was an emptiness in me like I still couldn't let go of my past life I thought I already did after being trapped in that hell of a place for millions of years but it seemed like I did not completely get over it.

It felt like it was at the tip of his grasp but he just couldn't forget it no matter how hard he tried he gave up and accepted this was his new life but deep down he knew he never gave up he was lying to himself in a way.

After being surrounded by 3 people with pointy ears and dark skin I could guess what was happening. I guess the beautiful woman is my mother and the man with a black short beard is my dad and the man with the brown and white robe was some type of doctor in this world.

“ga- a -go”

I kept trying to talk but words wouldn't come out. My tongue isn't big enough to be able to talk yet. After the man with the white and brown robe had finished cleaning me I was tangled with a white cloth around me and the piece of the black and golden robe that was wrapped around my hand was still clenching tight but not enough to be uncomfortable.

I was carried to a large castle and then to a bedroom with the people I guess were my mother and father of this world. I’m guessing my father or mother was very high in prestige.

The man was gripping me tight in his arms to the point where I wanted to throw up while the mother was laying down sleeping soundly on the other side of the bed. The man finally after thirty minutes put me down next to my mother. I'm still trying to get used to calling her mother though. After laying me down next to my mother he grabbed a sword and went outside. I can hear him from outside. It sounded like he was swinging his sword outside the castle.

Then after a hundred million years I closed my eyes and fell asleep. I couldn't say I fell asleep peacefully but I did fall asleep without worrying about what was next for once.
