The Overlord of Gluttony VII

The Overlord attacked with another barrage of rocks, only for Yana to counter its attacks. It howled in frustration. 

"Rell!!" Rena yelled, waving a rifle in the distance. "Same trick again!" 

"Big Sis." Astra gestured to Elena. "We'll keep it distracted." 

"Mhm." Elena nodded. 

The two Sisters launched into the air. The Overlord roared, suddenly shooting out balls of dark muck from its body. The muck hit the ground, several Shadows emerging from them. Two lizard Shadows appeared, skittering into sniper positions and launching attacks at Elena and Astra. Several wolf Shadows attacked Luna, Mira, and Yana, as well as the group of other Sisters that had followed them. Hornet Shadows buzzed through the air, launching spikes down into the fray as they fought. 

Rell Shadow Sprinted towards Rena just as hornet Shadows descended on him. Bullets ran out, blowing them out of the sky. 

"Not on my watch." Rin said, sitting atop a distance position along with a few other sniper Sisters. 

Rell closed the distance, reaching with his hand. A Shadow erupted from the ground between them, knocking both of them away as the shark's head emerged from the ground. 

"Dammit..." Rena cursed, realizing she had lost the rifle. "Dammit!" She cursed, scrambling to dig through the rubble.

The shark swam into the air, looking down at Rell from above. Several fiery sniper shots slammed into its side, cracking its barrier. The shark dove, before charging Rell, mouth agape. 

Elena and Astra danced through the air. Both were exhausted and injured, so it took all they had to dodge the spike attacks being launched at them. The Overlord growled, trying to swat them out of the sky, but it moved too sluggishly to hit either of them.  

The Overlord channeled Earth Nin, several gigantic sigils forming along the ground. 

"We need to attack it now!" Yana yelled. 

"Rell!" Rena screamed, pulling the rifle from a pile of rubble. 

She took position, opening weapon and aiming for the Overlord. Rell  dodged the shark's attack, before rushing her position. A storm of bullets clattered down on the shark, shattering its barrier and injuring it. 

Rell slid into position, channeling his Shadow Nin and placing his hand onto the rifle. 

The Earth shifted just as Rena fired her shot, causing her to stumble and miss its head. The Shadow Nin bullet slammed into the barrier, shattering it like glass. The shot slammed into the Shadow's chest, blowing a hole through it and stopping its attack midway. 

The Overlord fell backwards against a building, screaming in pain as black blood and smoke poured from its wound. 

"Rena!" Rell shoved the girl out of the way as the shark slammed into their position, taking a chunk of earth with it before swimming off. 

"The rifle!" Rena screamed. "It ate it!" 

"Really?" Rell shook his head in disbelief. 

Luna smashed a wolf Shadow's head with her shield. Mira followed up, stabbing another wolf and bringing it down. 

"It's down!" Mira pointed at the Overlord as it squirmed, struggling to stand up. 

Sniper fire slammed into it, but its barrier had already recovered. The attacks bounced harmlessly off its barrier. 

"Fine." Rell readied his sword. "We'll finish it off the old fashion way." 

Wolves charged their position. Rena responded, drawing her pistols and firing at them. Rell stepped forward, decapitating one just as it lunged at him. 

"Rell!" Luna and Mira linked up with him. 

Elena landed near them as well, breathing heavily. 

"We need to finish it." Rena pointed out. "One more good hit should kill it." 

"I need to get close. One Shadow Slash will open up its barrier just enough for finishing blow." Rell said. 

"We've got a lot of ground to cover..." Mira noted.

More Shadows seemed to be coming out of the woodwork, forming an army between between them and the Overlord. In addition, the shark soared above them, ready to attack at a moment's notice. 

"This is the final push!" Rin's Light Nin suddenly appeared. 

Rin grinned from where she hid, an injured Hina sitting near her,  sending out Light Nin orbs to the various Sisters still fighting. 

"This is where we'll show them what Alpha Squad is made of." Rin directed. "Smash this line, and kill this Overlord. Right?" 

They readied themselves, facing down the army before them.
