Chapter 2:

Gamer Pt1

Fallen Omnipotent Writer Perspective

Just because you wrote a unique story… doesn't mean you'll instantly have a world wide fandom.

The internet was the sea. It wasn't easy to find a droplet amongst the boundless ocean of Earth.

Much less remember it…

However, Ben hadn't started his hobbies because he wanted to be seen by the world or heard by it.

That's why his own story was so… 'psychotic'…

It was a mess of a Webnovel that wasn't beloved by its audience. Most reviews on it went like this:

[What the heck is this?]

[Author's dark power fantasy]

[So edgy… So messy…]

[It's an interesting mess.]

[A novel for sadists and masochists! Lol~]

[Give the MC a break]

[Author who doesn't give a flying f@ck]

His novel "SSSSS Class Rank Raiser: Regress, Return, Reincarnate, Revive" was ridiculed both by the absurd use of the letter 'R' in its name, and how filthy and almost rotten content that made it up.

The theme of the story was simple:

'A distortion of common sense.'

And it all started from the moment the creator's most 'beloved' deuteragonist died by castration.

That's right… 'Sidmund Tailor' wasn't the only main character of this story. There was someone else.

The character that embodied his high school version of what 'edge' was. An ugly sight to behold.

However, that was a story for another time.

After accepting the message given to him, the whole world shook violently with great tremors.

The tectonic plates of the Earth seemed to be shifting, and the whole world was in panic.

Especially those in the tram…

"Aaaagh!!!" Shrill screams could be heard.

The wheels couldn't handle the shaking, and had eventually given out. Electricity was cut as well.

A power outage coupled with a toppling transport…

It was a situation that was the worst place to be.

Here, 'Sidmund Tailor' was supposed to revive…

However…

[A weakened soul is possessing your body.]

Ben felt something cause pain deep within him. It was an indescribable suffering from his 'soul'.

One could call it the most unpleasant feeling…

'Damn…!' He didn't expect his hasty decision would actually affect reality. Was all this real?

Wasn't this a hallucination?

If so, then he probably fell off the deep end…

'It hurts…?' But somehow, it didn't seem that was the case. He was… confused. Greatly perplexed.

Wasn't those blue screens just a delusion?

The world had stopped for a moment as the tram tipped over. Many were thrown off their seats.

*Bang!*

The two trams had collided, with the one he was in being in a worse state than the other railway track.

Though that didn't matter. After all, the point of the earthquake in the beginning was to 'kill' everyone.

It was only then that a new world could begin…

Ben was unknowing of the forces that gained ownership over the sky. He only knew one thing.

He'd fucked up big time…!

When he started to regain his senses again, the world was darker than the one he'd known before.

No lights in the streets. No people talking a lot.

Only groans from the nearby passengers…

'Oh damn… No no NOOO!' Ben found his brain working into overdrive after falling to the side.

['Game Avatar Divine Physique' has been activated.] A message appeared in his eyes.

[You have been inflicted with 'Fatigue'.]

[You have been inflicted with 'Bleeding'.]

[Please use a medkit immediately.]

Fuck! He didn't know what was happening, but it was now sink or swim. Death was coming closer…!

He looked for the only person he'd ever admired.

The woman who was supposed to be living her life.

He looked down to see her body becoming colder by the moment. Like him, she fell onto a window.

The result was clear to see…

Unlike Ben, who was relatively fine, Julie was on the verge of death and needed proper treatment.

A sense of reality started to hit him.

"S-someone…!" He started to look around, but it was too dark to see. Only groans were responded.

He wanted to quickly phone an ambulance, but he knew they wouldn't make it in time to save her.

The stress started to get to him.

'This is my fault…?' He couldn't believe it. That one decision of his would lead to a meaningless death.

Especially hers…

[You have been inflicted with 'Confusion'.]

['Player Perspective' has been activated.]

Suddenly, his mind started to clear. In this tense moment between life and death, he made a choice.

Rather than being stricken with grief over what he'd done, his eyes became empty at that moment.

His eyes were focused on the task at hand.

What was it that he needed to do?

'First, my own status window.'

When he thought about it, the blue screen that contained his skills and abilities popped up.

But what was there looked real disappointing.

…He tried to be optimist and not think about the things he didn't have. Now wasn't the time for that.

There was one one skill that caught his eye.

'Gamer Logic Item Wheel, huh?' His dark eyes turned to look at a medical kit just above him.

Thankfully, it came out intact…

Reaching out, he grabbed the handle. A different type of message screen arose on top of the 'item'.

[Item: Medical Box.

*Beep* *Beep* *Beep*

The 'Health Point' Bar he could see in the corner of his vision (next to his name) was in the red zone.

He'd lucked out this time…
