Chapter 5:

Adapt Pt2

Fallen Omnipotent Writer Perspective

One thing Ben noted was that 'Loki' wasn't the same as what he'd written. It was… a guy.

That Dragoon was supposed to be a dude!

So why did s/he appear as dude…?

'This… might not REALLY be my Webnovel.' This thought dawned on him, but he didn't tell her.

"So this that's why you wanted us in here?" Julie asked him with eyes that showed a hint of trust.

That much was enough for him to cling onto her.

He wasn't going to let her attention go.

Ben looked at the lowest rank Combat Prowess of his Overall Evaluation, then remembered that this wasn't the time to be dillydallying. They were fresh meat sacks in this worse than fictional jungles.

The law of 'Only the strong survived' was a lot more sinister in his novel. He had to grow strong.

"I need to do something. Can you handle our boss when he wakes up?" He kept on his air of mystery.

"…Right." Of course, Julie would have done this herself. To her, his appearance was too strange.

Mr Augustus was a man who could ride a limousine everywhere if he wanted to. He had a private car and chauffeur at his beck and call. Why the flying fuck was he riding a tram like everyone else?

She crossed her arms after seeing him nudge.

The plump figure started to raise off the ground…

"The fuck just happened??? Find that bitch right now! She has to be the reason this happened!!!" It would have been nice if the plump bastard hadn't woken up. He quickly made his presence known.

"Mr Augustus?" One of the employees of Micron Entertainment immediately recognised his face.

He was a man hard to actually meet, but it wasn't as if his face hadn't been plastered on the walls.

But this situation only made Ben's mouth twitch.

However, his current attention was focused on something else. Ben's legs crossed to meditate.

['Player Mentality' has resisted 'Arrogance' debuff.]

If he wanted to surpass his original 'F' Rank evaluation on his Combat Prowess, he needed to do one thing. Since he had his 'Extrasensory Perception' (ESP), all the couch potato needed to do was gather spiritual energy into his physique.

Doing so would be the start of learning true mystical skills that utilised 'Spiritual Energy'.

Of course, 'doing' it was easier said than done.

His concentration was gradually being eroded when he realised what that bastard was doing.

He was already trying to control everyone here.

In a foreign world where everyone didn't know who to rely on for safety, his presence inspired them.

This was just a part of his boss's leadership skills…

Seeing that no one was answering him, Augustus Grayson scanned the people in his surroundings.

He ignored the old people who were taking priority seats and looked straight at those fit or healthy.

They looked like perfect meat shields to him.

"Gather around. An entrepreneur doesn't wait for opportunities, he makes them himself. Let's forget about that weird fairy creature for now. To me, you all are worth investing in." He stood there proudly.

His mask and hooded coat was taken off to reveal his high-class business suit. It gathered their eyes.

Of course, Julie wasn't going to let this pass.

"Mr Augustus." His face twitched unnervingly when she called out. The girl he'd pretended not to see.

"Miss Julie, now… isn't this a freaky coincidence we have here?" His tone had instantly changed.

There was formality in his voice despite her being of a lower rank than him, which many had noticed.

"You're right… 'Freaky' is the right word."

"What do you mean?"

"Why are you on this public transport, Sir?"

"That's a personal question."

"You said you were going to rest when I left."

"That's why I'm going home."

"No." She shook her head, lifting her finger to point at him: "This tram goes in the opposite direction."

The others couldn't understand what she was talking about. In fact, not even Ben understood.

Since his Webnovel was kinda contrived, he didn't really give much of a reason to why his boss took the tram. It was just a story, so this much contrivance was fine. Even if it wasn't plausible.

But thinking about it more made things difficult.

Especially with what Julie was hinting at.

"Haha… I took the wrong line. Anyway, isn't it too late to criticise me on this?" He pulled off his tie.

Slowly, he was becoming even more 'Arrogant' and imposing. His presence becoming stronger.

['Innocent Charm' has resisted 'Arrogance'.]

Although the Perfect Secretary girl looked like she was in a good position, the truth was far from that.

Ben knew she hadn't 'adapted' yet.

She was still holding onto common sense tightly…

This was an opportunity Augustus took without warning. Almost like he was waiting for this.

"Hey, anyone who subdues her will become the vice-leader of my group." He suddenly said loudly.

These words caused a glint in many eyes…

"W-what…?" She didn't expect he'd take his mask off so easily. On top of that, the others were similar.

She looked around to see many were moved by his words. Greed started to appear in their eyes.

"What are you waiting for? Society is done for. We men are the dominant superiors now. So start acting like it." The plump man incited them some more. He was so glad most of them were guys.

['Tainted Tongue' has increased the temptation in your words. Attraction to the target has increased.]

Julie's 'Innocent Charm' was used against her.

It hadn't been long enough for people to degenerate and fall into the path of depravity.

This was just the man using his specialty…!

"Wait-"

"SCREW IT!" An Asian employee roared before trying to tackle her. Getting hit in the process.

*Crack!*

One full-contact elbow directly smashed his face.

For the first time, blood was spilled after their transportation into this post-apocalyptic hell.

Although Julie was the only young woman who boarded this particular line, she was used to it.

Used to having to deal with 'perverts'.

But it was the first time everyone else had ever seen someone fly across the room after being hit.

The fear she instilled in that one strike was…

…definitely enough to regain composure!

One of the acquaintances of the Asian employee picked him up. He shivered upon seeing the bruise.

Could a normal slim woman hurt someone so easily? Most of them glanced at the instigator.

For some odd reason, he didn't seem surprised.

"Seriously, I regret employing you." He was filled with hatred. His heart filled with animosity.

Ben couldn't understand what he was talking about. This scene hadn't happened in the novel.

What was supposed to happen was his boss causing a scene after 'Sidmund' took initiative.

The battle was supposed to be between them.

But now, he seemed oddly focused on Julie.

"And I regret helping you keep your company running for so long. Don't you have any shame?"

"Oh please, you fucking slut, I do… I do…"

"…You've lost your mind."

"I'm more sane than ever. What's crazy is how you managed run MY company with your nonsense."

"This is because of that…?" Their conversation was going in one direction, but this was definitely false!

Was Augustus using a skill to get through her Lie Detection like he did? That would make sense…

After all, what he was currently talking about wouldn't explain what Ben was seeing in his vision.

['Extrasensory Perception' is now passively active.]

[You have spotted some 'Wraiths'.]

Ben's heart ran cold. Around seven ragged women floated around the extremely plump businessman.

Te truth he uncovered was too terrifying…!
