Chapter 10:

Practice (1)

Link-Up-Play

Radiating sun gradually set in front of Joe's eyes, this atmosphere was humid to say the least as the trees were extremely green in this heated condition, many sweated having refreshments in hand, summer was taking a toll on everyone, but Joe's thoughts were the sign of pettiness.

''Why am I not good?''

''Hard work is not paying off''

''Fuck talent''

''Life is hard''

All the thoughts inside of Joe has been his liability, this mindset made him struggle as he compares himself to others instead of focusing on fixing himself. So will he become better and train this summer like the coach told him to?

''Okay, I'm home. I can chill out a bit no negativity'' Joe laid on his bed as soon as he got home

''Well, it's kind of lonely being alone at home no one at home but myself''

''We are all getting older and year 11 is only 2 months away''

As the sun pierces through Joe's room, the temperature of his room was beyond room temperature as it wasn't in chill able conversations anymore. He went to turn on his fan to blow some cool air to relieve the heat.

...

But as soon as Joe was about to turn his fan switch on his phone suddenly, he looked at the name of the caller it displayed as Dean the other part of our rock solid defence with John the captain and Michael's friend.

''Yes Dean, what's up?'' Joe picked up the phone call.

''Yeah nothing, but it's blooming hot'' Dean replied

''Wait, there has to be something otherwise you wouldn't be calling me mate'' Joe curiously answered back

''Well, there is something...'' Dean nervously replied

''Well, what is it mate?'' Joe questioned

''umm well...▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇'' Dean hesitantly replied back

''Wait what, but why?'' Joe confused over what Dean just said

''Not too sure though, but  ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇'' Dean told Joe

Joe didn't know if this was good or bad news for him, as this definitely helps with him getting more game time than usual. But on the other hand, this was a enormous gap to fill for him. He didn't know what to do.

''So does coach know about this yet?'' Joe questions Dean further

''Well not yet ▇▇▇▇ hasn't told him about it yet'' Dean replied

''Why did you think it was better to tell me before, coach?'' Joe did more interrogating

''Well, you will be the one to fill the gaps of ▇▇▇▇ so I think it would be reasonable to tell you first''

''I'm sure ▇▇▇▇ will tell the coach soon enough himself''

''But he's also hesitant'' Dean answered all of Joe's questions

''Well, thanks for letting me know, bye see you in the next training session mate'' Joe ended the call

Well, this news was obviously a breakthrough for Joe, but with his current mindset, it's also bad news for him. He will obviously have to think more of the things he has to do to improve further more because of his ability stagnating these past few years, He will need to find back his grove.

''I will have to listen to coach now for real. Eric might be the only way for me to improve''

''Life is hitting like a truck for sure''

''Only these two months to improve...''

Joe knows that time can't be wasted this summer. Every second, every minute counts now and his mindset has to improve to only focus on the love of the game, which that is football, the beautiful game.

''It's too hot in this room, I'm bored too''

Joe looks at the time on his phone and it displayed 16:00...

''How has it only been two hours past since I went to the training ground?''

''Since I have nothing to do, I might as well head back to the training ground''

''Coach did put in the group chat that it will be lasting from two to five a 3-hour session''

With nothing to do anyway and to clear up his mind, Joe went out for a stroll around the area and get within the close vicinity of the training ground to see if the other players were still training there.

But as soon as he got near the training ground, he saw this blue aura type of smoke rising above the training ground... There he saw an Eric with his blue eyes, that was completely different to his normal self.

It just wasn't normal, Ruben, Austin and John are all just standing on the side seeing Eric's passing drill with coach in awe, like how he's hitting all the cones directly with chip passes, direct passes, trivela passes, fast ground passes, long passes.

''He's superhuman. This isn't just practice''

''This is the true ability of a galatico''

''We have a once in a generational player here''

Joe has now seen the true ability of Eric, and there's a lot that he can learn from him. The calculations, the passes, the high football IQ everything can be improved in this next two months.

''Coach was right, he's always right''

While a part of practice is to improve on your skills and ability. Another reason to practice more is to see your mistakes that can be improved along the way the habits, whether is good or bad ones, can be changed for the better and this is why we...
