Chapter 13:

Ironical Reason

Dragonia

Scias took a look at the fallen Minotaur. “Pathetic,” he thought.

"Look at y-you now... you're incapacitated in front of a human whom you called pitiful, weak, and troublesome. You wish t-to annihilate everyone here... but y-you're the one being washed off here," Scias swung his sword sideways to clean off the blood stains.

"Kill me, then," Ordan stated harshly.

"Uh,” Scias nodded. “That's what I'm planning to do. N-No hard feelings, it's an eye f-for an eye," He stated as he hold his sword. But when about to swing, he paused, he then remembered about Marco’s storytelling about the Green Minotaur race in this island.

“…such irony,” Scias stated, “an ironic end at its best,” he added in a grave pity.

..

.

Ordan was known to be the forest's protector, therefore known as Protector of The Forest. Everyone praised his name, even there are weapons and items that named after him. Unknown to everyone else, he decided to turn away from becoming a legend. He began massacring creatures he found in the forest, some became his food, some simply being killed and gathered onto one place. It all happened in just three days, Ordan turned his back against everyone in the island.

Humans, animals, and monsters... It is as if he wanted the world to be his enemy.

But...

If looking back to the past around over fifty years ago. The Green Minotaur is a monster race that originally inhabited Areda Island. They originally didn't pose as a threat to the humans at all...

Until... a human killed one of their cubs. All Minotaur in the remote island were angered greatly, thus, become a hostile to the human cause.

The humans, however, were more sophisticated in that time. Combined with mages, elementalists, and high-end arsenal, the Green Minotaur race didn't stand a chance against the humans since they're only equipped with wooden and stone based weaponry. In one month, almost the entire Green Minotaur race... were ceased to exist.

The rest of the Minotaur are hunted down, until only two were left.

A year later, humans pledged their alliance to the Minotaur race and wanted to them to forgive and forget. One among them… was Ordan.

Both Ordan and his only remaining friend accepted this, as they didn't want their kind to extinct. But what was there to be hoped for? Both Ordan and his friend were but males, there's no chance to proliferate.

Two years later, an invitation from the island's leader was given to Ordan and his friend. It was an invitation to join their new world exploration. Ordan was reluctant to leave the island, but not for his friend. He had a great sense of hope that he will find a soul mate out there that will someday save their kind. Ordan didn't stop him from going because he knew that his kind was at the verge of extinction.

His friend boarded the ship and set sailed off the coast of Areda. Ordan from the coastline where the forest ends, silently watched as his friend left the island. Ordan was alone, then.

That was when he felt guilty of ever letting his friend go. The ship that he boarded sunk. What made things worse that news he heard from the humans that his friend was the cause of the sunken ship.

Unforgivable. Ordan couldn't accept it. He was incredibly fallen into lust for vengeance.

He trained himself and tried to gain greater trust from the human kind. Years after years, months after months, days after days...

Forty years later, a mysterious mage came to him, that mage viewed Ordan as a potential magic user as he has a vast amount of Mana that flows within him. This was the result of his rough training and his practice with magic.

The mage bestowed him magic of the wind element. It's a short meeting, before the mage vanished. Ordan didn't matter it at all, he continued to hone his magic skills until the point he reached Level 2 Wind and cannot expand anymore. It was rare for a monster race to reach above Level 2 magic capability. Even Ordan couldn't extend over that level.

The trust he gained so far, he even pledged himself that he will protect everyone. Everyone was so happy to have him. But that trust was struck down in just three days. He still remained vengeful to the very end!

Looking back again, why would human form an alliance with the Green Minotaurs, was actually because the previous human leader and his forces were assassinated by an unknown personnel. Their newly inaugurated leader saw this as a punishment for their arrogance, so he quickly reformed an alliance to stop the bloodshed and return the peace to the island.

Ordan did accept this alliance.

But no one ever expected that Ordan was a poisonous thorn inside the veins of everyone's trust. He silently held a deep hate for humans... that the hate itself affected many creatures around him.
