Let’s Make Some Cake!!

After preparing all the ingredients on the kitchen table, I quickly put on my apron and tied my hair so that does not disturb me.

I'm going to make a few different types of cake today. And it's going to be very tiring, but I love making it.

The first thing I'm going to make is a muffin. It's one of my favorite cakes and I wanted to let Sakura and Shinomiya taste it. I wonder what kind of face they will make when they eat it.

Without further ado, I immediately started making it.

I first melted the butter and the chocolate blocks each separately. While waiting for them to melt, then I beat the eggs using a whisk until the eggs are mixed, later I add the sugar and mix until smooth. After that, I took the melted butter and chocolate.

Now I have to wait for them to cool down first and then continue again.

"Misaki, I've done what you said. Oh, you've started?"
Entering the kitchen, Kazuto saw that I had started to bake a cake.

"Need my help?"

Ask him as he take a chocolate bar and eat it.
Do you want to help me or do you swallow it all before it happens?

"No need. Does Onii-chan remember what happened last time helping me bake a cake?"

A few months ago he helped me bake a cake once, but what happened was a huge mess. First, he let the butter and chocolate melt too long until dry. Second, when he beats the eggs he puts too much force into his arms so that all the dough is scattered everywhere. Lastly, he broke the oven by always opening and closing it to check the cake. I wonder how he did it. I mean, we're the same person, but there's a lot of difference in abilities.

It was my fault too I guess for letting him do it himself while I left him to do other tasks. I have to realize that things have changed a lot. I should have taught him slowly instead of giving him a recipe book.

Kazuto turned slightly pale as he recalled the incident.

"Ugh... Sorry for that time."

"It's okay. Relax while I bake the cake."

I immediately told him to leave the kitchen area because it would disturb my concentration if he stayed here.

"All right, all right."
Kazuto turned away resignedly.

So, let's get on with the work.

After it cools I put the melted butter into the egg mixture, then stir it for a while. After it has risen a little, I add the flour, baking powder, and salt and mix it gently using a spatula.

Then, I slowly add the melted chocolate and liquid milk and stir again until evenly distributed.

"I just need to put in the roasted peanuts and stir it."

After stirring it again, now I just need to put the dough in the pan and bake it in the oven.

"Let's set the time to 30 minutes first. Alright, during that time let's make another cake."

The first kind of muffin I made was chocolate-flavored. At least I wanted to make vanilla and cheese for more variety. It will take 90 minutes to complete the first batch because I made a lot. But no problem. After all, I'm in high spirits to make them.

The second thing I made was a strawberry roll cake. Besides being quite easy for me to make, this is Misaki's favorite cake back then. Every time I bake a cake, I will make this in memory of Misaki and me, who is not who I am. Yes, there is still a resistance in me for this life.

Putting that matter aside, I also make dough for other types of cakes, but it would take more than a day to make it now and just make the dough before putting it in the freezer

"Ohh, Endou... This isn't your house."

An hour later Endou came to the house and visited me in the kitchen.

"Ugh... Still mad at me?"

"I don't have time to take care of you. I'm busy right now—And don't eat the dough!!"

The dough that was difficult for me to make was almost eaten by him. So I immediately told him to get out and play with Kazuto while I finished the grill.

It used to be me who used to always pay a visit to Endou's house, but now the opposite has happened, and he comes here to play more often than I expected. Well, he was just as troublesome as ever. But he is a true friend of mine, and usually helped me in the past. So interference like this is not a problem. this house feels crowded with his existence.

After finishing the final dough and confirming the baking time, I went into the lounge to serve them cake and tea.

"Haha! I won again."

"Well, that's natural since I'm not a gamer like you."

"Let's just say you're angry. I can tell from your expression—Ow! K-Kazuto, I-I was just kidding so stop pressing my shoulder while shaking it!!"

When I got there I could see that Endou was dominating Kazuto because he kept winning the game and then made fun of him, so Kazuto was annoyed and started the real fight.

Come on Kazuto! Beat him! I'm pissed off as like you are!!!

Wait, I better stop them before Kazuto really will kill Endou.

"Alright, stop there you two. If you guys keep fussing then I'll go back to the kitchen and eat this myself."

Said I when behind them.

"Ohh, it smells so good!"

"Thanks for the hard work."

They were immediately attracted by the smell of the tea and my cake that were still warm when I bring them.

"It's nothing."

I immediately sat on the sofa when I saw them eating with pleasant faces. Seeing this already makes me feel good because the smiles people show when they eat the food made by you make our hard work feel like it's paid off.

"Mm? What's wrong, Onii-chan?"

Kazuto looked at me and stopped eating his muffin before grabbing a tissue on the table, and started wiping my face. At least say something before doing it. I was surprised by his sudden movement.

"Don't move much, your face is dirt."

You're too late to say that.
"Damn, I'm one step too late!"

And Endou started to grumble again.

"Thank you."

I forgot to wash my face earlier, and my face must have been covered in flour and chocolate.

"That reminds me. When I got here, the game console was ready in the lounge. Kazuto said that you asked him to do that. Could it be that you guessed that I would bring the game DVD?"

Endou asked in confusion.

"Yesterday I see some poster a few games that will release, and I think you will go buy it as a gamer. Moreover, this is the game series you've been looking forward to the most in the past 1 year since the leak. So I can simulate the reason you left."

Ah, I remember that Endou used to jump around happily when he saw the leaked game trailer. I couldn't help but smile bitterly at his childish nature.

Kazuto interrupted while he handed the stick to me.

"I can't beat this bastard. But he will lose to you, Misaki. I'll leave the rest to you."

Kazuto said it with a serious face with his hands full of faith at me while he handed me the stick.
Don't make a drama like we're fighting the final boss when we're just playing a game, please…..that's too chuuni.

"Hahahahaha! Even if you fought me a thousand times, it wouldn't change the fact that you would still lose."
Endou laughed and smiled evilly as he returned to holding his stick in an extremely embarrassing manner.

"Hah, well let's play for a bit."

Said I when I took the stick and chose a character.

The game I play is Extreme X : Hardcore. The game shares the same gameplay as Tekken or Street Fighter, which takes a side-by-side perspective, and has had many series that are just as popular as this. Players can play Story Mode or Duel Multiplayer both online and offline. Each character has its own unique fighting ability so this game is quite competitive and in the future, there will be local and even international tournaments due to its popularity. Endou had registered in a local tournament but unfortunately, he failed in the preliminary round.

"I... Lost again."

"As expected of my Misaki!"

12 rounds have passed, and Endou has lost without even getting a win against me.

"How could this be! Isn't this your first time playing this game!!?"

And Endou lost his arrogance now.

"Beginner's luck, I guess?"

It's indeed this is my first time playing this game in today's life. In the past, if I'm not mistaken, the number of matches I played was 815 times with a total of 186 losses and 629 wins out of the total against Endou. Well, he's just frustrated as he is now.

Endou challenged me again for the 13th time and I easily won it again.

"No, that's enough. I have to get back to the kitchen soon."

Said I while put down the stick and stand up from sofa. The cake will be ready soon and I have to put the rest in the oven.

"No!!"

Endou shouted desperately.

"Never mind, just play with Onii-chan. Didn't you come here to play with him?"

"But he's too stupid."

Kazuto had eyes lit up while he smiled horribly and he stared at Endou like a demon.

"Kazuto, th-that's just a joke even though it's true. No, I mean—AHH! Misaki, please help! Your brother became a demon lord! AAAAAHHHHaaaaaa!"

Endou's legs were immediately grabbed when he tried to run away and was immediately dragged away.

"AHHH!!"
